Being a nurse is a job mostly for women, Nurses have to be caring and understanding to their patients. Women have that motherly instinct which means taking care of others can be easier for them than men. Most people in Peter's family have the same thought. Nursing course is for women, but Peter ignored them all.

Peter grew up in a simple family from the Philippines. His family moved to the country since he was young. His mom is a nurse while his dad works in a small restaurant downtown. It was his parents' dream for him to be architect or an engineer, but Peter ended up taking up nursing for his major despite his parents refusal.

"You should listen to me. I'm a nurse. This job is too difficult. I just want you to be like other boys who can spend time with their family on holidays. I regret not being able to spend many Christmas and Thanksgiving with you and James because I have to work." It was when he announced to the family that he applied for a nursing school and he got accepted.
