Chapter 42: The Inevitable
Maria's POV
My head is pounding and my face feels red and swollen as I awake from my slumber. I sit up in bed and touch my face, trying to recall what happened.
The bed suddenly shifts beside me. "Maria, how are you feeling?" Luke asks.
I turn my head slowly and see Luke trying to reach out to touch me, but immediately take his hand away when we make eye contact.
I roll my eyes to myself and turn around in the bed, planting my feet on the floor firmly and standing up.As I walk towards the bathroom, Luke quickly gets out of bed and follows me.
What's this guys deal? I don't need help going to the bathroom.
