William gritted his teeth as he thought back on the scene that replayed in his mind. He felt infuriated that his father showered a stranger with heaps of attention eventhough it was someone he had met not too long ago.
Who does he think he is? Hero? Pah! What a joke!
William clenched his fist as he stormed his way through the crowd of people who were focused on getting to safety, not caring that they were bumping into a member of royalty.
"What's the situation?" William asked as he glanced at a nearby soldier who seemed to be at a loss at the situation and pulled on his pair of dark gloves, assessing the situation.
"P-prince William! Salutations! We're doing everything we can to get the situation under control. But with all the citizens running amok..." the soldier replied with a salute before trailing off on his sentence.
William clicked his tongue as he turned his gaze away from the soldier with scorn. "As usual... how inefficient."
He then headed off in the direction the arrow came from, a seemingly good lead if not for the fact that the culprit would surely have left by the time he arrived.

Mikhail and Susie trailed after Xander, their eyes wandering the regal hallway of the castle.
Mikhail was awestruck as he gazed at the high walls of the palace and the beautiful tapestry lining the walls. The columns were decorated with intricate gold linings, making up small images of dragons and knights which could only be seen if you looked closely enough.
"So this is where all the citizen's tax goes to? Wow. Amazing how you royalty live so lavishly." Susie said in a mocking tone as she folded her arms, sarcasm clearly lacing her words.
She was impressed by the beautiful palace but found it to be a waste of resources. Though she mostly didn't want to admit that Xander did something right at the very least.
"It was built from the ground up by the very first king of Enoch... with the first citizens of this nation... in a way, you could say his comrades and loyal followers. I merely maintained the castle. There were arguments to break it down and to expand the palace but... maintaining it as it is... serves as the history of our proud nation... how could I possibly..."
Susie clicked her tongue from such a well thought out answer, rolled her eyes and glanced out the window. The sound of people screaming in terror was muffled yet prevalent, her eyes gleamed mischievously as a grin formed on her lips.
"My, King Xander of Enoch... why are you staying in the comfort of luxury while your people are seeking for a blanket of security? Aren't you in the wrong area?"
"Susie... Tch! I just... want to keep my promise with Diane to keep Mikhail safe. Once I ensure his safety, I will handle the situation prope--..." Xander said before he wobbled in his footsteps, his hand grasping his bandaged shoulder.
"X-Xander?! Are you alright?" Mikhail gasped as he peeled his eyes off the walls and rushed to Xander's side.
"I... feel woozy... the arrow... might be poi--..." Xander struggled to say, holding onto his head before the bleariness of his vision turned to darkness and he collapsed on the ground.
"X-Xander! Ugh... A-anyone?! The king! He's..." Mikhail started yelling but to no avail.
"We'll have to move him ourselves." Susie said as she moved Mikhail aside whilst sighing and stood in front of the unconscious Xander.
With a huff, Susie lifted Xander over her shoulder before gesturing Mikhail with her head to find a place to lay him down.
Mikhail stared in awe at her raw strength but shook himself out of his stupor before rushing to find a room with a bed. The palace was needlessly huge, hence, doing so took far more time than necessary.

"Tsk! Damn. That rascal... We were only trying to help but..." William clicked his tongue in annoyance as he stared at the child taunting him from the top of a broken column.
The child had been discovered a while ago at the same location where the arrow had been sniped from. It was unlikely the culprit could be a child and yet the possibility still exists. Hence, he shouldn't be too quick to rule it out.
He had instructed the knights to 'aid' the child and send him home. Though what he had meant for the soldiers to understand by hinting at them to read between the lines were to send the child home but to keep a watchful eye on said child.
Nevertheless, the situation got out of hand when the child suddenly started running away. It was a highly suspicious move so William had cast rationality aside and given chase.
"... However... this could also be a distraction..." William muttered to himself as he wiped the sweat off his brows before directing the knights to corner the child.
The chase had been needlessly long and had led them to a ruin not too far from the capital. A lost ruin you could say, as it was unfamiliar in terms of history and placement.
... Where is this place? Did it exist before this... No, I shouldn't take my mind off of the situation! In case he pulls any sort of tri--?!
William was met with a sight he didn't expect to see as the soldiers he had brought together with him were subjugated, leaving him as the only one standing.
"Wha?! What did you do? M-men! Curses!" William yelled as he noticed his soldiers lying motionless on the ground.
They can't be dead could they? What did he even do?!
"My... to think you are still able to stand... I didn't think I would find another one of your kind here. Hehehe..." the boy said as he chuckled.
What... why is the air getting colder...
"I didn't think the job would be this interesting. However, I see now why he had sent me here." the boy said as he brushed William's face with spindly fingers.
"What?! Who is he? And who are you?! How dare you lay your hands on Father!" William said as he narrowed his eyes and tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword.
"Now, now. It's a shame I can only see you for this short period of time. However, in time all will be clear. Kekeke... Goodbye, Prince William. Let's see if you live up to your name." the boy said as he grinned maliciously at William before a strong gust of wind billowed.
"Ack! What do you me-- Ugh! Where's this wind coming from?! Eh.... he's gone..." William said as the fervent wind slowly died down.
He glanced around him at the ruins but couldn't spot the child.
William then bent down to check on the conditions of his men and sighed in relief as they were only unconscious.
Now what could that boy possibly mean... And this place...

"D-do you know what kind of poison we're up against? Is there any way to save him?!" Mikhail asked frantically as his voice raised in pitch.
"No... I'm not an expert in this sort of thing... Do you think he'll die because of a puny amount of poison, though? It seemed like it would take triple the dosage just to drug him to sleep." Susie said with a serious expression, though her words seem to indicate something else entirely.
"C-cut that out... What if he really dies?" Mikhail asked worriedly as he wiped the sweat off Xander's brows.
"What happened?" a voice asked, garnering the duos' attention.
"Louis! The King! He's been poisoned!" Mikhail exclaimed as he grabbed Louis' collar in an earnest manner, his eyes filled with anxiety.
"Wh--... Calm down... for a second... put me down..." Louis said as he tapped gently on Mikhail's hands.
"Oh! Sorry! Can you check on him? Are you knowledgable in this field?" Mikhail continued to pester Louis as he followed after him, watching as Louis inspected Xander's condition.
"This... might be bad..." Louis said as he stared at the continuous spreading of black lines across Xander's arm.
"This... might be bad..." Louis said as he turned to face Mikhail. "Wh-what's the problem? Is it... an unknown poison?" Mikhail asked as he glanced towards Xander who was grimacing from the pain as his body occasionally twitched and his face grew paler. "No. I know the antidote for this poison. However... the problem is... I do not have either of those ingredients available on hand." Louis said as he straightened his glasses. When did he put on a pair of glasses... No wait, that's not the point... "What are the ingredients?" Mikhail asked as he shook his head to clear off the irrelevant thoughts and stared directly at Louis. "This is called the Everfrost Dying Wish Poison. The poison is made by mixing an extract of the essence of an Everfrost flower with a Cecilia Waterlily." "Erm... What's that..." Mikhail asked as he stared blankly at Louis.
The journey to Lestria felt uncomfortably long as the guide hardly said anything aside from the few times when they informed the duo that they were going to let the horses take a break. "That guide... something about them feels off." Susie said as she cracked her neck, stiff from staying in an uncomfortable position from watching the shifty guide who had been eyeing Mikhail the whole trip. "I think so too..." Mikhail said softly as he glanced at the guide who was covered from head to toe in a thin dark garment. For the first time, Mikhail found himself doubting someone else. Such a feeling was unfamiliar with him as a small country bumpkin from a cozy village where everyone was like family with one another. It was impractical to doubt one another as they all depended on each other. Susie did a double take, blinking her eyes rapidly in disbelief as she had not expected Mikhail to agree w
"What do you mean he was poisoned?! What were the knights doing?! Why aren't you doing anything?!" Lilith yelled as she threw her wine goblet at Louis, the blood red liquid splashing over him. "My humble apologies, Your Highness... I have already dispatched the knights in search of the culprit and sent someone to aid me in search of the ingredients for the cure." Louis said as he kept his head lowered, calmly reciting the answer he had thought off overnight. "... If that's so, it's fine. You may leave." Lilith said as she glanced at Louis whose upper garment was soaked with the red liquid. "As you wish. May the Light of the Divine One guide your path." Louis said as he headed for the door. "... He can't die yet... I still need him for my plans..." "Your Highness... I forgot to mention but... 'He' has called for you." Louis said as he stopped in his tracks.
William entered the room with a heavy heart. He hoped that what Louis had said was anything but the truth. However, he was struck by a painful sight as he saw his father writhing in pain as soft groans escaped his lips. "So you're here." a woman's voice permeated the silence, catching his attention immediately. "Mother..." William replied with an uncertainty to his voice. The sight of her surprised him. It's been so long since I last saw her face to face. Let alone hear her voice. However... that expression she wears... it's still the same as ever. Lilith wore a cold and distant expression on her face. She tilted her sharp gaze towards William, meeting his eyes as she unfolded her arms. It would seem as if she could not stand the sight of her own son. "It's a good thing you're back. The commotion that was stirred has caused quite a problem. I have to depart to one of ou
Gentle streaks of light beamed onto Mikhail's face as he groaned and turned away from it. The tempting allure of sleep called out to him, lulling him back to his slumber. However, even the blissful paradise of bleariness came to a sudden halt when he felt the cool morning air surrounding his body and heard frantic knockings on the door. "AH?!" Mikhail gasped as he grasped around the bed for the blanket. "Mikhail! Mikhail are you up?! I couldn't sleep a wink waiting for dawn because I was so worried about you! Please open the door!!! If you don't, I would think that something were to have happened to you!" Susie's voice rang loudly in Mikhail's ears as he immediately sat up to open the door. "Good. You're awake. Please silence the person out there. It's still early but we need to be considerate of the other people." the guide said making Mikhail jump as he had forgotten about sharing a room with them.
True to the thought, Susie and Mikhail were escorted through the palace walls. The man was far ahead of them, blocked from view. The guards were separated into two linear lines where a few stayed by his side and the others trailed behind him.The sight would have been comical as it mimicked the image of ducklings following their mother had Mikhail's mind not be preoccupied with the thought of how said man had numerous guards around him. The complete opposite of Xander who would usually have one or two of his men beside him.Almost as if on cue, the man stopped walking which could only mean that his men too, would halt in their steps. In due course, Mikhail had walked straight into the armour of the man before him.The cool exterior of the armour feeling even more chilly due to the weather sent shivers down Mikhail's spine as he rubbed at his forehead from the pain as well as the cold singe. He apologised to the man and t
Mikhail wanders the street of the capital glancing at the hustle and bustle. It seems everyone, mostly young people, were hurrying about. He wondered what all the fuss was about but decided not to dwell on the matter as he continued on his stroll. The visual enhancement stone he had been given had been put to great use as of late. Sneaking out had never been easier. Almost as if it were served to him on a silver platter. Regardless, Susie remained clung to his side. Shaking her off was almost as easy as escaping the grip of an alligator's jaw as it was spinning about dragging you under. "What is going on today? Is there an event?" Mikhail asked Susie. "Beats me. However, take a look at this!" Susie said as she grabbed a fake moustache that had been put on display at a nearby stall, placing it before her face. Mikhail stared at her and laughed whic
"You were so brave back there, Mikhail!" Susie said in a cheerful tone."I... was just angry. He was right though. I could easily have lost my head there. From what I've read of the books in my mother's collections... Rulers easily discard people they find have lost or does not hold any more value to them." Mikhail said with a sigh as he ruffled his hair in exasperation."I wouldn't let anything happen to you.You can count on me!" Susie said with a confident grin on her face, slapping her puffed out chest reassuringly.Mikhail glanced at Susie's brightly lit eyes and his lips tugged into a small smile. It felt nice knowing someone was looking out for him in a land so foreign. At least in Archon Menoch he knew Xander.Knows. Present tense... Nothing will happen to Xander..."Well, would you like to look around first as this is the first time we're here in Lestria?" Mikhail a
