I was pissed when Thomas called and told me the royal family needed me to return to Sicily. I was sitting there in front of Sienna when the call came through. We needed to talk. I needed her to understand that she was not just a human. There was something about her that I couldn’t place. I talked with Mom about it, and she said she would need to meet with Sienna to see what I was talking about. I could tell she thought I was blowing her off after taking that phone call. I was not; I would have if I could have taken her to Sicily. I knew there was no way she would miss that much school. One thing I love about her is how serious she is about her education. I hated being away from her and tried to make her see this. I had asked William for her number when I had seen him earlier that day. I wrapped her in my arms and held her for as long as possible. I felt her tense up at first, but then her arms wound around my waist as a smile spread across my face. I force myself to pull away from her and give her one last look before I leave the house using my vampire speed. I knew I wouldn't leave her if I walked at an average pace. I climbed into the car as Rico and I took off for the airport.
“I need you to keep an eye on her while I am gone. I am hoping it is only for a few days.” I tell Viktor.
“Of course, I will always look out for our queen.” Viktor replies.
“I know you will. I hate leaving her right now. She is still denying our bond. I really need to be here to show her that she was meant to be mine.” I sigh.
“She will get over her hesitation. I don’t think she is more than human thought.” Rico points out.
“I know; Dad mentioned something to me after dinner the other night. I got the same feeling after being around her more. I can feel the power and authority flow off of her at certain times. I don’t even think she realizes she is releasing all that power.” I reply.
I knew that Rico would pick up on Sienna being more than human. Besides her delicious scent, she smells human, but I can feel that there is something supernatural about her. I already had Viktor look into William’s family; he is pure human. The supernatural part must come from her mother’s side. William will talk about his deceased wife but not thoroughly discuss her. He also refused to tell us her name or where she was from. I am unsure why he wants to keep his deceased wife hidden, but there must be a reason. The three of us get out of the car when Rico stops the car on the airstrip. I tell Viktor that we should be back in a couple of days. Rico and I climb onto my family’s private plane and sit down. I watch as Viktor turns the car around and drives off. At least I thought enough to contact William and get Sienna’s number before I left.
“Sorry to call you back here so soon Luca.” The king says.
“It is fine. I know that you would only send for me if it was important.” I state.
“This is important. We should go to my office.” He comments.
Walking to his office, I see the many pictures adorning the castle's walls. One picture catches my eye. It is the king and queen, with three children: two boys and one girl. I stop to look at the picture. The boys are around 18 in the picture, and the girl looks around 16.
“Is that the princess?” I ask.
“Yes, that is my deceased daughter, Eynnia.” The king answers.
The princess has the same emerald eyes as my Sienna. I can even see a vague resemblance as well. I am not sure what to make of this. We continue walking to the king's office. The queen, Nial (he is the king’s second in common), and Pietro (the king’s third in command) are waiting for us. I am surprised to see the queen. I was expecting the second and third in command. I sit down as the king walks behind his desk and sits. I can tell that whatever he has to say is essential.
“I want to thank you for coming here again, Luca. I know I said it a little bit ago, but I really do appreciate it. I had been talking with your father before calling you, and he told me that you had found your beloved. I actually hesitated to call you, but I needed you here.” The king says.
Everyone looks at me. I smile at them as the queen walks over and gives me a hug. I nod at the other two in the room as the queen sits back down. Rico is smirking at me. I will deal with his bastard ass later.
“Two days ago, I received a visitor. She was from the states. She had worked with Eynnia all those years ago. Her name is Yesaria and she is half witch and half fae. She told me that she knew Eynnia’s husband. Yesaria said that they had a house in Alburquerque, New Mexico. She told me that he was a lawyer and a very respected and well-known lawyer at that.” The king says.
“Your guys went there, hell, even I went there, and no one could tell us about this guy. None of the neighbours could remember his name, and they all swore they never saw a woman or a child at the house.” I point out.
“Yesaria explained that she had placed a spell on him and the child for protection. If you or I were to look at the house, we would see a single man living there. Only certain individuals would be able to see the truth. While Eynnia was extremely careful about not leading anyone to her family, Yesaria is positive that someone was following Eynnia and they may have followed her to the house.” The king states.
“Does she know these people might have been?” I asked.
“No, she does not. She said that Eynnia never saw anyone but always had a feeling that someone was watching her. I believe that it was those people that caused her accident while she was here working. I know that shortly after Eynnia’s accident, a law firm from the states tried for months to find out why my daughter died. They stopped after we were finally able to provide enough evidence that it was the car accident that caused Eynnia’s death. Although I am still not positive that they believed it, they did, however, stop hounding us for information.” The king explains.
He gives me information on the law firm, which looks familiar. Three men seem to be the three men that run the law firm. I look the law firm, and their web page has changed considerably, but that is to be expected. It appears that only one of the men is still there. This isn’t a surprise since that was at least 18 years ago.
“How did this Yesaria not get found or killed by the people that killed the princess?” Rico asks.
“She told me that she had also placed a spell on herself once Eynnia told her of her fears. So they may have known about her, but they have no idea her real identity. Plus, she is also the daughter of the fae king.” The king answers.
I ask if Yesaria has kept in touch with her husband, but the king says she lost contact with him after he moved. Nial tells us that he has been trying to track down her husband and child but that since there was a spell on them, it is almost impossible to find them. Rico asks if the spell will still be in place. The king says that once they moved, the spell would have left, but since no one knew them, no one would realize who they were.
“What about a birth certificate?” I ask.
“There were no children born around the time of our grandchilds birth. We know that Eynnia didn’t give birth to her in the town they were living in, but we also can’t find a record of her giving birth in the state of New Mexico as well. The only reason we know she had a child was because when they looked at her body after she had died, the doctor asked us where her child was. He told us that he is 100% positive that she had birthed a child.” The queen explains.
I tell Rico to fly back and talk with Denver. This child had to be born in the States. My gut tells me this child was born in a different state. I tell them about my suspicions.
“I think that Eynnia had her child in a different state. She might have gone into labor while ona business trip or maybe a vacation. Did she go on vacation around the time that we are guessing the child was born?” I ask.
“Actually she did. She was due to travel to Florida at that time for a very important business trip. She was meeting with some of our associates because we were in the process of building three or four hotels in both Orlando and Miami. I am not sure which city she would have been in at the time but that might help you narrow it down a little.” The king explains.
“That actually does help quite a bit. Thank you your majesty.” Rico says.
Nial and Pietro walk Rico out and see him off. I ensure he texts Denver to let him know we need his help. Denver is our friend whom we have known since childhood. He is a warlock and also a lawyer. He also has contacts all over the state of Florida. I am hoping he can help us find this guy. We wrap up the meeting and return to the dining room for dinner. I know there has been some unrest here lately. The king informed me last time I was here that someone was trying to overthrow them. From what I was told, they found the main culprits but are still worried that more out there are in on the plot. The king's son Liam will take over within the next year or two. He is not the oldest son, but the king chose him over his older brother Cavallo. Cavallo would not have been a good ruler. He was cruel, and the king found out he was abusing his power. Cavallo left the kingdom two or three years ago. He has been spotted all around Europe.
“I hate to even think this but is there a chance that Cavallo could have something to do with Princess Eynnia’s accident?” I ask.
“We thought that as well, but we can’t find any proof. I believe he is part of the faction against our rule. I believe that he is helping them with their plan to take over. I think they want him on the throne. He has always been against the mixing of species. Liam is like me and believes that all supernaturals, pure and hybrids, are good and that all of us are capable of getting along. Cavallo doesn’t want that. He wants to rule all of the supernatural world.” The king explains.
“Has he found his beloved yet?” I ask.
“No and he won’t. Our god told us that he doesn’t have a beloved. He knew that Cavallo was going down the wrong path and was evil. He told us it was nothing we did and that he was just born that way so he made sure that he wouldn’t have a beloved. Cavallo found this out and was pissed. It is known that vampire’s can only have children with their beloved so since he doesn’t have one he can not sire any children. He swore he would find a way to sire a child and then take back the throne.” The queen adds.
I bite the delicious meal before me while thinking about what the queen told me. I knew Cavallo was an ass, but I had no idea he was that bad. I remember him trying to recruit me, but I turned him down. His ideas were too far out there, and they sounded like the ravings of a psychopath.
“Your daughter had beautiful green eyes.” I comment.
“Yes, she inherited them from my family. They come from my father’s side. He had fae blood in him.” The queen states.
“I had no idea you had fae blood in you.” I remark.
“I do, but it has been thinned out over the years. It will show up every now and then in a child. My cousin had very strong fae genes and was able to do quite a bit with his magic.” She adds.
She explains that all of her family has extremely sensitive hearing and can both move quickly and are stronger than they appear. She believes the mixing of the vampire and fae genes does this.
“I thought that Eynnia would show some of the fae genes more than she did.” She sighs.
I ask her what she means. I was not expecting to be told something like this. My mind filters back to the picture in the hallway. The princess had dark hair like the king. The queen does not have the emerald eyes of the princess, but she shows me a picture of her mother, and I can only stare at the picture. Her mother looks identical to my sweet little Sienna. She has the same emerald green eyes and hair the color of the sunrise. I asked about the hair color; she said it comes from her fae side. After dinner, I text Rico, and he calls me. He tells me he has just landed and is returning to the house. I tell him what the queen told me, and he says that when he speaks with Denver, he will tell him everything. I tell him to keep me posted and lie down on the bed. I am starting to think that Sienna, my beloved, might be the daughter of the deceased princess. It was time that William and I had a long talk.
Sienna One Year Later He had better be fucking ecstatic with this outcome. If he thinks I am doing this again, he has lost his fucking mind. I watch as Luca holds both of our boys. Yes, I just had twin boys. They both have my hair color, but they have his eyes. They are identical, and they are super damn cute. Iyrandi is almost two now and carefully watches her father hold her brothers. She was very excited when she learned she would be a big sister. I was happy when I learned that I was pregnant again. I knew something was off with this pregnancy by the third month. We were told we had twin boys when we went in for our ultrasound when I was four months along. Luca fainted as I started laughing. Uncle Jakari had warned us that the fae is famous for having multiples. He was not wrong. Andre found his beloved in Grandpa Linus’s kingdom. She is a very distant cousin of mine, and we get along well. They also just found out they are having quadruplets. I thought Andre wa
Luca Six months Later I lean back in my chair, looking down at the little girl lying on my bare chest. My little Iyrandi was born two days ago. She was born a month earlier than expected, but she is perfect. She is tiny with a head of chestnut brown hair and eye, the perfect mix of mine and her mother's. She looks more like Sienna, which I am fine with. She is perfect and is my little princess. I glance over at her mother, who is sleeping on our bed. I was surprised at how smoothly the delivery went. I was terrified that she was a month early, but everything turned out fine. I carefully stand up, place my little princess down, and quickly slip a shirt on. I pick her back up as Tigo makes himself known. I look down at the little demon. They have been fascinated with my little princess since we returned home. They slept in the crib with her last night. I feared they might lay on her, but they were cuddled along Sienna when I woke this morning. “Did something happen?” I
I left the castle for a few hours while Luca slept. The shadows kept an eye on him, so I would know when he was awake. I had to ensure no one saw the three of us, so we used the shadows. I laughed when we arrived, where we met Linus and his father. Deter and Palamo damn near vomited, which happens if you are not used to traveling using the shadows. I am used to it, but it never bothered me, even the first time I used them to travel. I have no idea why, but whatever. I let them rest for a bit before we entered the building. “I am going to guess that they haven’t travelled using the shadows before?” A male voice said. I whipped around, ready to kick some ass, when I stopped. Standing there were two faes, and I knew right away that they were my father’s father and grandfather. My dad looked more like his mother, but I could see a family resemblance in both men before me. They took a few steps towards us but stopped when I growled at them. We might be meeting them, but that s
I let out a groan as I try to move my arm. I can’t see to move it, and I slam my eyes shut when the bright light assaults them. I try to turn over, but again something is stopping me. I opened my eyes and saw my little sunrise pressed against me. She had her arm across my chest, and one leg was thrown over mine. I bring my other across my body and run my finger along her cheek. She has this glow to her, and I know it is because she is carrying my child. She moves but doesn’t wake up. I look around the room, and that is when I realise I am in the hospital. That’s when it all comes back to me. “Calm down, if you get upset then she will feel it.” Bernard says. “How long have I been out?” I ask. “Just over 24 hours. The others are just waking up too. Everyone is fine. No one was seriously injured. All of you had minor injures and allof you will be sore for a few days, but thankfully that is it.” Bernard answers. “Sienna hasn’t left your side since you were brought in.
I was not happy to find out that my father’s fae family had spoken with Cavallo. That guy is on my last nerve. He had been on my last nerve for a while, but now that I am pregnant, my nerve is much shorter. It is time for him to get lost. Luca told my dad and me they wanted to sit down and talk with us, but I am unsure about that plan. I don’t trust them since they threatened my dad’s mom. I find this whole situation highly suspicious. I would like to talk with them, and I want Quade and Deter there. Those two can both sense when someone is lying. I can tell that Luca is not on board with this idea. Between his facial expressions and the fact that I can feel everything he is feeling in our bond tells me that he would rather I not be in their presence. “I think our first meeting should be over the computer. I want Quade and Deter in the background since they both can sense when someone is lying. This isn’t sitting well with me but the shadows are calm and don’t seem to have
I kiss my little sunrise’s shoulder as I wake up. I was not expecting that last night from her. Jakari had warned me that pregnant fae women are more demanding and will take what they want, and he was not joking. I wasn’t expecting her to use the shadows to restrain me but fuck; it was hot. She kept telling me I didn’t need to baby her, and she was right. She gave as good as she got last night. I peel myself from her soft creamy skin and walk into the bathroom. Fuck, every muscle in me is sore, but considering why I don’t care. I smile as I walk out of the bathroom. Sienna is still sound asleep. I kiss her temple as I quietly leave the room. I ran into Liam and Jaraki as we walked down the hallway. I heard Laim snicker and caught a slight smirk on Jaraki’s face. “What is this?” I ask. “It will help your aching muscles. I can tell you didn’t heed my warning the last time we talked.” Jakari comments. I roll my eyes, but I am not mad—these assholes. I smirk at Laim whe
