We were saving the doctor when we finally met him, Ezi was doing something out of his mind. We could say that he was a bit crazy, I was pretty sure he didn’t inherit that from me. Ezi shoved the edge of his machete to the doctor’s neck while threatening,
“Do you dare to propose for marriage to our queen? Are you out of your mind?” Ezi gritted his teeth and rudely showed his vampire fangs.
John, the doctor, and I suddenly was in awe looking in Ezi’s direction with our slightly opened mouth.
Suddenly, Ezi laughed so hard. Then John and I realized that Ezi was joking so we finally chuckled and laughed as well, while the doctor was still on his knees and in awe. I realized that I needed to explain to him what had just happened.
“Forgive Ezi, my second horseman, Dr. Howard. He was sometimes out of his mind, but he’s a great tracker to find rogue vampires. Are you okay, doc?” I shoved my hand for him to reach so he could stand on his feet instead of kneeling like that.
And to my surprise, the doctor grabbed my right hand with both surprisingly beautiful hands behind the scars made as a result of years of working in labs. Then he kissed my knuckle. He acted like a true gentleman.
The next thing that happened was he arose on his feet towering Ezi because he was as tall as Viktor. Still, he gazed at Ezi from between his spectacles hanging low on his perfect Roman nose. His chin was too low, almost touched Adam's apple. It was a sign of a reserved personality.
Being towered and acknowledged as superior at the same time, made Ezi stop laughing.
Confusion was written all over Ezi's face. If I could read his expression clear, he'd say: Are you taller or shorter than me? Taller in height but shorter in experiences of killing rogue vampires.
Not even a second we could see that he was arrogant. He was a true definition of 'humility comes with true wisdom'. Maybe because I saw that he was a little bit timid. His figure might be tall, as tall as his knowledge. But thank Moon Goddess_yeah it had been hundreds of years I still felt like a werewolf believing the Moon Goddess_his personality wasn’t rotten.
I still could feel the power of my ancestor's Empath human, it was the ability to feel emotion and to know the personality. It was true I was a good judge of characters.
And from between the frown of his perfect shape eyebrows along with his lower gaze, he muttered almost whispered,
“Mm… my queen, I've been wanting to meet you in person… “ he still has his lower gaze like he was shy.
Unconsciously, I frowned trying to read the doctor's intention of saying things like that. But I tried to hide my confusion by raising my eyebrows telling him that I got what he meant. Though I didn’t get what he meant by saying that. He truly was an eccentric one and an exception.
So I asked,
“Oh… what might be the reason you've been wanting to meet me? You’re a lucky lad I came and rescued you. Before I state my intention, do you care to elaborate on that line you've just said?” I tilted my head, chinned up, and showed my fangs as a way to tell him not to state any weird intention that could get him killed on the spot.
Though it was the last thing my kingdom and I wanted. I had to intimidate him and kept everything worked in order.
But he didn’t feel intimidated, instead, he moved his legs wider so the positions were in line with his shoulders. He wanted to look shorter. He knew for sure that against his Queen’s will would put him in an even worse condition than being kidnapped by a bunch of rogue vampires.
Either his shoulders were too wide that he needed to balance the way he stood on his feet or his legs were too small because he didn’t spend much outside the lab. The white lab coat got in the way. If only I could make him naked…
Wait… why did I think like that?
Thank Moon Goddess I could seal this weird thought from my horsemen.
It was strange that something happened until I saw him move his hands to meet both the thumbs and his forefingers in one unity. It was a classic gesture when someone was thinking seriously.
He might have spent his entire life in the labs, even his gesture seemed ancient. I was waiting if he also would state an ancient line, this must be fun…
“I might be able to help you formulate a synthetic kind of blood for the vampires to drink. We could design the best blood so vampires don’t need to drink from the willing human donor or animals' blood. In the end, we could put rogue vampires for good because there'll be none of them, and the peace for humanity could finally be perfected. How was that, your highness? “ he was waiting for my response who was clearly in awe along with Ezi and John on my sides.
Then I heard their voices,
[Is this happening, milady?]
It was John’s voice.
[Indeed, John, my child]
[Shit! This is happening!]
That was Ezi. It was because he was the youngest when I turned him from his miserable abyss of broken bones amidst his love of hiking and his undergrad program, his language was unbelievable even worse after his freedom of being a strong vampire. Still, I had to calm him down. Though there wasn’t any history of someone could come down when he or she was told to calm down, I had to try…
[Language please, Ezi. And yea it is! A dream come true, eh?!]
In a blink of an eye, the doctor smirked on only one side of his mouth. It was like he could read our minds. I flinched my left eyebrow feeling like he was suspicious. But I had the urge to gain my composure and made sure that the doctor didn’t see that we were shocked because we were on the same page.
What a great coincidence, though there wasn’t any coincidence. Everything was arranged in spider webs to meet each other and created what they called destiny. I didn’t care so much about that. Because I was the victim of what they called destiny. The Tribrid curse us, and I was the one who bore the burden.
I was just glad my family was smart enough to create a purpose for me to live. From the lowest class of a vampire, they made me their protector when they decided to leave their lives as werewolves, the creatures made by Moon Goddess to protect the human from the ravaging vampires.
And how brilliant my grandpa was to create a noble purpose for a low creature like vampires who fed on the fear of humans, to be their protector. Then this was my legacy to find ways to be able to co-exist with humans without hurting them. It was through Dr. Lazlo Howard that finally I could put my hundreds of years of wondering what I should do to be able to make a peaceful system in my kingdom for both humans and vampires. And I needed to say again to my children, John and Ezi, sooner Zachary and Victor from the outside of the building, to tell them, we would finally succeed in creating peace,
[Children, this is it. We have finally found the one solution to our biggest problem.]
I send the thought like a one-on-one broadcast because I couldn’t talk to them in a pack just like in the days when I was a werewolf. Finally, to the doctor I said,
“How fortunate is that, doctor? We’re on the same page…” I smiled widely and proudly showed my fangs then I carried on, “So you have the formula?”
My last question put horror on the doctor’s face. I knew that the dream was too good to be true which meant he didn’t have the formula yet. It was just still theoretical. But it’s worth a try, so I continued,
“Very well, doc. You can go home with us and we’ll set up a lab for you. You need me, the descendant of Crane billionaire who will fund you to discover the biggest invention of all times. A solution for the bloodsuckers like us, the low life leveler, vampires.” I turned my back and shoved my right hand into the air signing John and Ezi to escort the doctor to our mansion…

[ ] this punctuation is used to give a sign that the sentences were said as a means of communication between vampires. These vampires had these abilities because they were from one root of a Maker, Vivienne, who used to be a werewolf that could communicate in a pack and was the descendant of the Empath humans, the mind reader. Since she was downgraded to a vampire because of the Tribrid’s curse, her ability was also lessened to be able to communicate only one on one to her child only one at a time. I use the punctuation because the GoodNovel app for mobile doesn’t show the post to be in italic. It only applies if you open the story using a PC. Happy reading
We'd finally rescued the doctor from the rogue vampires. To our surprise, the doctor had the same thought that he was going to help us to create the formula for the synthetic blood so all the vampires in the Imperial Colony didn’t have to drink human or animal blood anymore. That was the thing very important to achieve to create a peaceful world decent for humanity. That in the end, my vampire children and I could get some rest from hunting rogue vampires or even sleeping eternally in our coffins, to be wakened up later when there was some kind of disturbance in the peace of humanity. Not for wishing something bad, but I was cursed and built my empire of children only to protect the human. This was my legacy and I intended to keep it that way. So when we finally found a way with the help of the doctor, though we hadn't found the actual result, we were pretty sure we were closer to our final goal. I was glad I finally had this thought when we went outside and gathered with Zach and
I asked the doctor whether I should call him ‘doc' or ‘professor’ while he was mending the wound on my head due to his instinct to hit me with a bar stool thinking I was going to hurt him. Though it was unnecessary because my wound would heal in an hour or two. I didn’t take the human blood since I woke up tonight, usually, the human blood would be served around 3 AM or after I went back from hunting and killing rogue vampires. It was supposed to be the blood of the Hungarian pianist tonight. I didn’t ask for his presence, but he came to this Imperial Colony city to offer his blood to the queen. He said that he didn’t have family left, so giving up himself to immortality was his only option. At such young age, he grew tired of traveling around the world playing piano on big stages. Popularity didn’t fulfill his soul anymore so he sought a greater purpose. When he heard that there was a city ruled by a vampire queen to protect humanity, he felt like he needed the urge to participate.
We were going back to the mansion after we rescued the doctor. To our surprise, the doctor asked to ride one of the vampire horses because he liked to ride a horse. Since we weren’t going to hunt for some more rogue vampires, Zach lent his vampire horse, the White Beauty. It had its best figure when it changed into a vampire. Its dull white hair became indescribably beautiful because of the effects when a creature became a vampire. It must have been a struggle for a human to ride a vampire horse. But seeing his tall figure and looked like his strong legs, I wouldn’t be worried. That tall doctor easily got onto the vampire horse's back, and the horse was hissing and neighing because it recognized the rider as a human and it smelled the doctor's blood. The White Beauty was walking in a circle because it smelled the doctor's blood. But I could see that the doctor was an adept horseback rider, he kept on directing the horse to walk in a circle to distract it from the smell of his bl
The doctor told Mr. Tanaka and me how people usually took him for granted, making us exchange a very meaningful look. We meant that finally, the doctor was in the right place where his brain and hard work would be acknowledged and useful for the greater good, to keep the peace between humans and vampires to live to co-exist. The air suddenly became so sad. I might be a vampire who didn’t feel a thing but the Empath cells in my body sometimes gave me hints of how my surrounding felt. Thus I tried to crack the silence. “Well then, Mr. Tanaka. I'm famished. Could you please also prepare the doctor's dinner and show him the way to his room?” “Certainly, milady. Yours is prepared, and I've asked the kitchen staff to prepare something for the doctor.” Mr. Tanaka looked at the doctor and continued his explanation, “Pardon me, doctor. If later the taste of the food doesn’t suit your taste buds. We’re sorry that since there was no one in the Royal Family eating food anymore except for ano
The doctor stopped to walk when he saw me before he got down the grand stairs to the dining room. I didn’t know why he shoved his right hand for me to take. He had the oldest chivalry and even though I wasn’t his woman, he tried to act gentle. A true gentleman he was. So I guessed I had nothing to worry about, thus I reached for his hand and let mine hold his. There was a strange thing that happened when I put my hand in his holding. A tingling sensation came from his hand running through my hand, my arms, my shoulders to my back, to my spine, and down to my core. It felt warm. It was like an electric current. For as long as I remembered, this had never happened when I touched humans. I was supposed to be the one who gave the human this feeling. Not the other way around. Vampires manipulated and hypnotized their targets of blood bags. It had never happened the other way around. Or when a vampire said that he or she fell in love with his or her blood bag, was just because of the d
It was a peculiar thing what the doctor had said. He asked me if I had the will to get sex. What I meant was how in the hell he could get that sassy. Wasn’t having two different personalities including being a timid scientist, and an overconfident lad with a hint of adrenaline junkie already too much? Now there was another personality of his that was sexually rude. “Huh? What did you say just now, doctor? How could you ask your vampire queen such a question? Do you have a death wish or something? “ He frowned upon hearing my questions and I believed he could hear the angry tone in my voice because now he widened his perfect almond-shaped eyes. “What’s the matter, your highness? Did I say something that offended you?” He acted dumb. And I abruptly stood from my chair than in a blink of an eye, my left hand was choking his neck and my fangs were shown were about to rip his throat out. It wasn’t necessary and I never intended to kill him but shock therapy should be shown remembering
I woke up just to see the blue moonlight broke into my room. It was dusk already, and I was surprised I could sleep that long. I wondered how long I had the dream with that tall and handsome doctor. It had always been a rare occasion for vampires to sleep and dream. This added to the list of peculiar things happened since I met the doctor. I checked on the lab design again and prepared the Blueprint on my tab to be shown later to the doctor, along with the list that I needed to ask him about a few peculiar things happened since the day I met him. I breathed in his scent, the scent of ethanol because he had spent too much time in the lab. The disinfectant liquid had blended with his tanned skin so he wasn’t outside the mansion at the moment. I could smell the sun on his tanned skin. I might miss the sun as well. [Wait… miss?!] Vampires didn’t do missing that we were just hollow with purposes and the urges to drink blood. Again. This added more to the list of strange things that hap
The doctor surprised me with his line, "Before we do business, my queen. You need to know who I am." That was the thing I wanted to ask him because I had a list of strange things happened since the moment I met him. Then how did he know I was about to ask who he was? There was no better explanation than he read my mind. This was beyond the castle's members' understanding. I needed to speak only to the doctor without anyone around. At least there must be only two of us in the dining room. If later anyone overheard or eavesdropped, they could hold their curiosity for later I announced the official news. But for now, I had a secret lurking in the doctor's mouth that I needed to draw out. Hence, I signed Steve while saying, "Leave us, Steve. Make sure no one disturbs us." With his vampiric speed, Steve went outside and closed the dining entrance door. I could still feel his presence standing outside the dining door. He was guarding and later making sure no one disturbed me and the d
