This new lovers' restaurant opened right above Mark's restaurant. It was very popular, so Mark had to come and experience it himself and even dragged Rex with him.

The waiter stressed over and over again that this was a lovers' restaurant. Mark winked at Rex and lightly tugged on Rex's arm. "Don't we look like a

couple?"

"Mark, Rex, what a coincidence.." A man and a woman walked over to them. Daryl Black looked like a typical gentry, and the woman holding Daryl's arm was a recently popular social media influencer with a small common-looking face and big eyes.

Mark snorted lightly. "Why are you here?"

"Liza said this place is nice, so we came to check it out. Isn't this a lovers' restaurant?" Daryl implied something and covered his mouth to hold back his laughter.

They were all childhood buddies, so there was no need to evade each other. Rex scowled and glared at Mark.

Daryl felt amused since it was rare to see Rex at a loss like this. He did not leave and invited himself to their table

Jenna raised her head and gave the crowd a graceful smile, but her heart whispered, What if I weren't an Anderson? What if I were just an ordinary woman? Would they still believe me? Would they still listen? The thought stung like cold steel. If she hadn't been an Anderson—if her name hadn't come with billions—her life, reputation, and dignity would have been crushed and buried under everyone's judgment.Around the ballroom, murmurs echoed like a growing storm."Did you hear what she said? If she were ordinary, this could've ruined her.""I heard she was working at a coffee shop when Rex met her. No wonder the Hidalgos treated her like dirt. But to think she's Marcus Anderson's daughter...""God, if she hadn't been an Anderson, she'd probably be hiding in shame right now—or worse, in a mental hospital.""Imagine being slut-shamed for weeks online, only to come back and slap everyone with the Anderson Empire. That's some poetic revenge right there."More voices joined in."Honestly, if

Gasps rippled across the ballroom like a crashing wave.Everyone froze as Marcus Anderson’s words echoed through the grand hall:“Everyone, meet my only daughter and heiress of the Anderson Empire… Jenna Anderson.”The sound of clinking glasses, soft whispers, and background music fell into silence.Even the chandeliers seemed to dim, as if the entire world paused for that one moment. Then, suddenly—The massive digital screens outside the venue, towering across the city’s skyline, flickered. The congratulatory messages for the Anderson Empire’s anniversary were replaced in synchronized unison.JENNA ANDERSONCEO & Sole Heiress of the Anderson EmpireVision. Power. Legacy.A stunning image of Jenna—taken just moments earlier as she stood in her emerald gown beside Marcus—appeared on every screen, every corner, every building. Alice sat quietly at the edge of the ballroom, her wine untouched in her hand. Her lips pressed tightly together, eyes following Rex from across the room. He hadn’t looked her way again, not even once. Cold. Indifferent. Detached. He’s changed, she thought bitterly. Ever since I returned from abroad, it’s like he stopped seeing me at all. Like I never mattered. Even tonight, he asked me to leave. Me.She scoffed quietly to herself, swirling the untouched drink in her glass. But he can’t push me away that easily. Not while Dianne still wants me here. As long as she’s on my side, I’ll remain exactly where I belong. Her thoughts were cut short by the clinking of a glass from the stage. Marcus Anderson, the formidable patriarch of the Anderson Empire, stood in a dark navy suit, crisp and sharp, commanding attention without even raising his voice.“Ladies and gentlemen,” his voice echoed across the hall, “thank you for coming to Anderson Empire's anniversary gala. Thank you for all your su

Rex’s steps were heavy and quick as he followed Jenna down the dim corridor behind the grand banquet hall. His thoughts raced faster than his feet—his chest tightening with the weight of her words, the fury in her voice still echoing in his mind.“Jenna,” he called out. “Wait.”She stopped, back straight, head high, refusing to turn around. The hallway was quiet, save for the distant music and laughter from the gala.Rex took a breath and stepped closer. “Please… just listen to me.”Jenna slowly turned, her eyes sharp and cold. “Listen to what, Mr. Hidalgo?” she said, each word laced with ice. “More insults? More accusations? Or maybe another reminder that I’m an embarrassment to your reputation?”“No!” he exclaimed, his voice cracking. “That’s not what I meant. I—I was trying to protect you, Jenna.”“Protect me?” Jenna scoffed, her voice rising. “You said that already. And I asked you then—when did you ever protect me?”Rex’s breath caught in his throat. Her words struck deep, like a

Marcus raised his eyebrows and glanced at Rex, then shook his head. "How could I possibly imagine becoming in-laws with you? My daughter certainly doesn't deserve such an exceptional man like Rex Hidalgo."Old Master Hidalgo paused, his smile faltering briefly, then chuckled awkwardly. "Speaking of which, the Anderson Empire really took a hit from that woman's scandalous background, didn't it? The stock market even stirred because of her."Marcus's expression darkened. His eyes narrowed with thinly veiled contempt, but Old Master Hidalgo remained oblivious to the tension growing with every word he uttered.Meanwhile, on the second floor of the banquet hall, Alice tugged on Elena's sleeve and leaned in. "Did you really see her clearly? Why would Jenna be here at this time?"Elena let out an irritated sigh. "I told you already. It was her. My mom and I both saw her in the washroom. She even slapped both of us like she's some kind of queen."Alice's eyes widened. "Slapped you? She actual

Dianne and Elena froze in place, staring at Jenna as though she were a ghost risen from the dead."You! How did you get in here?" Dianne demanded, her expression twisting in disbelief. She was absolutely convinced that Jenna would never dare show her face after being "kicked out" of the Anderson Empire. Her voice trembled, but her words were sharp. "Did you sneak in? Do you have no shame at all?"Jenna tilted her head slightly, a calm, amused smile gracing her lips. "Why would I need to sneak into my family's event, Mrs. Hidalgo?"Elena scoffed and crossed her arms. "You're nothing but a social-climbing disgrace, Jenna. You probably faked your way in here. Everyone knows you're done for. The Andersons kicked you out, remember? You're a joke."Jenna stepped closer, her heels clicking authoritatively against the marble tiles. Her eyes locked onto Elena's with deadly calm. "Oh, I remember. But it seems you're the only one laughing. And honestly, the sound of your voice is starting to rui
