Chapter 19: A moment she would never forget in a hurry

**Tony’s POV**

I wanted to do everything I had imagined doing to her, not love making, I didn’t feel emotionally attached to her in that way, but she is very attractive and I really want to do crazy things to her right now.

“I don’t make love, Valerie… I fuck”

She jittered when I said that, like she couldn’t believe I could be that honest at the heat of the moment.

“Are you willing to be fucked?”

It took her a while, as though she was weighing her options, what did she stand to lose? After all, she needed something to help her forget the hurt she feel because of what Michael did to her.

Matter of fact, she needs this more than I do, she needs to beg me for this.

She nods politely and I gave her a very seductive smile.

“Beg me for it” I said finding my way under her shirts, grabbing her boobs. She gasped, looking at me with those pleading eyes.

“Please…” she muttered.

“Please what?” I grabbed her nipples, twisting them and kissing

Chapter 25: Tension in the Car**Valerie's POV**As much as I tried to deny it, the truth was staring me in the face. She is jealous. The way Vivian looked at me, the way her jaw tightened when Tony moved closer to me, the subtle venom in her voice when she called me a liability, it was all there, written in the language women instinctively understand.Does Tony sleep with her? He obviously does, or may have done it once and dumped her and now she's sensed the shift between us, the change in his demeanor around me. Women know how to smell these things, especially when it comes to someone they've claimed as their territory.Well, I'm not about to get into a cat fight with a woman like Vivian over a man like Tony. I'm not sure I would survive it, and honestly, I'm not sure I want to. What happened between us was a fling, a one-night stand born out of grief and revenge and proximity. It would never repeat itself again.Or would it?Oh God, I can still feel him. The memory of his hands, h

  • The Wedding Jilt: Gangster's Revenge Bride   Chapter 24: Suspicions

Chapter 24: Suspicions**Vivian's POV**The moment I heard Valerie's voice over the phone during our call, my blood ran cold. She was awake. At four in the morning, she was awake and clearly close enough to overhear his conversation. What were they doing in the same space at that hour? Tony had been shocked when she spoke, like he thought she was asleep. Which meant they'd been in the same space long enough for him to assume she was unconscious. My mind raced through the possibilities, each one worse than the last.No. No, no, no. Boss isn't like that. Tony James is a reserved man, controlled, disciplined. He doesn't get distracted by women, especially not civilians who stumble into his world trailing chaos behind them.I haven't seen him with any woman since Pat. That's over five years ago. Five years of watching him bury himself in work, in building the family, in everything except the kind of human connection that makes men weak and stupid. He's not into those frivolities anymore.

  • The Wedding Jilt: Gangster's Revenge Bride   Chapter 23: The Arrival

Chapter 23: The Arrival**Valerie's POV**I was sitting on my packed suitcase, trying to force the zipper closed, when Tony's head snapped toward the door after hearing some footsteps approaching. He'd been pacing for the last hour, checking his watch, making calls in clipped, angry tones."That's them," he said, moving toward the door before the knock even came.I smoothed down my hair and tried to look composed, though my heart was hammering. I'd met Vivian and Victor at Tony's compound, and that had been under very different circumstances. Now they were coming into my space, my little apartment that suddenly felt smaller than ever.Tony opened the door, and they swept in like a storm front, all black clothes and predatory grace. Victor carried a large duffel bag, while Vivian had a sleek garment bag draped over one arm and a briefcase in the other hand. The moment Vivian's eyes swept over my apartment, her lip curled with barely concealed disdain."Jesus Christ, Tony," she said, se

  • The Wedding Jilt: Gangster's Revenge Bride   Chapter 22: The Decision

Chapter 22: The Decision**Valerie's POV**The first thing I noticed when consciousness crept back was the emptiness beside me. The sheets were still warm where Tony had been lying, but the bed felt weird without his solid presence. I kept my eyes closed, my breathing steady and deep, pretending to still be asleep. The embarrassment crashed over me in waves. What had I done? What had we done?My body still ached in places I'd forgotten could ache, still tingled with the memory of his hands, his mouth, the way he'd made me beg for him. The way I'd called him daddy like some desperate, needy thing.God, what was wrong with me? A little more than forty-eight hours ago, I was supposed to be walking down the aisle to marry Michael. Now I was naked in my own bed, thoroughly fucked by a mafia boss who'd made it clear he didn't make love, he just took what he wanted. And I'd let him. Hell, I'd begged him to.I came down from the bed and opened the door slightly, I could see Tony moving around

  • The Wedding Jilt: Gangster's Revenge Bride   Chapter 21: The Flight Plan

Chapter 21: The Flight Plan**Tony's POV**The room was still dark, wrapped in the quiet that comes before dawn. Valerie's breathing was steady beside me, her body curled against the far edge of the bed like she was trying to keep distance even in sleep. I studied her face, nothing like the fury I'd seen blazing in her eyes hours ago.My phone felt heavy in my hands as I scrolled through Michael's messages again. The bastard was in Florence, probably thinking he was untouchable, surrounded by Tuscan hills and expensive wine. He had no idea what was coming for him.I glanced at the time. 4:47 AM. Victor and Vivian would be awake, they rarely slept when operations were active. I needed to move fast. Every hour Michael stayed free was another hour for him to slip away, another hour for the Black Crows and Dark Sun Cartel to close in on me.Carefully, I slid from the bed, Valerie didn't stir. I grabbed my pants from where they'd been discarded and pulled them on, then stepped into the hal

  • The Wedding Jilt: Gangster's Revenge Bride   Chapter 20: Italy

Chapter 20: Italy**Tony’s POV**I could categorize this the best night of my life in years, only that I wasn’t in love with this woman like I was in love with Pat. I was just infatuated by her beauty and curves.I spent two hours in different positions, giving her the best time of her life, and now she was curled against the far edge of the bed, asleep, her breathing slow and even. Her face was peaceful like a baby, untouched by fury or fear.I truly admire her beauty and I know deep down that she is marriageable, if only she would want to settle with a man like me. Well, fuck that! I wouldn’t want to put her in that position. How come I am thinking of marriage when I am not even sure I have up to another day to live? The room was dark, save for the soft glow of Valerie’s phone screen.I pulled the blanket higher over her shoulder, then turned my attention back to the phone in my hand. Michael Sebastian’s name glared at me from the screen. The bastard. He had the audacity to reach ou
