Hallucinations

Iyya sat by the car window looking at her home streets in Zanzibar. She was so happy by the turn of events. Her plan was going accordingly. Finally, she would meet her stepmother.

After five years, she was finally going to meet with Heina and plead with her to give her body back. Just as much as she was excited, she was also terrified of what was to come after.

How was she going to start her life all over again, all alone? With no one beside her!

She left that question pending in her head. She would figure that out later. Iyya looked out the window. To the familiar places. She knew by heart.

She grew up in these streets. This was her home. The Indian ocean breeze which felt good on her face brought not only the good but brought back the worst memories too.

It brought back the last conversation she had with her mother on her deathbed, and she pushed it as back as possible in her head.
