Chapter 24

I waited until the car disappeared around the corner. The sound of something moving through the trees across from me caught my attention. This bus stop is opposite a city park which is quite big, I can't see anything but the shadows of the trees and the darkness. I quickened my pace toward the house, when I saw Alex's car parked next to Dad's car.

Dad was standing at the door when I walked in. He was on the phone with a serious expression. His gaze shifted to me instantly, "Cara!"

My body jumped slightly hearing Dad's voice which was quite loud. "Do you know what time it is?! We've all been looking for you."
