I laid my head on Nathan’s chest as he slowly ran his finger over my lower back, the action was one he knew calmed me down, he had taken off his shirt a while ago and was now laying on bed with me.
“You don’t want to go back to the ball?” I asked Nathan who kissed the crown of my head, tightening his arms around me, his heartbeat calm as his chest slowly rose and fell with every breath he took, his wolf purring in delight, the feeling of his mate by his side making him go at ease.
“No, the ball doesn’t matter, we did what we needed to do, Nina and Elijah are with one another, Ashton and Grace probably left ages ago anyway, Grace doesn’t like balls like this, and mother knowing that she had annoyed me wouldn’t be wondering where we are” Nathan said softly, I ran my finger over his chest drawing random patterns on it, softly letting my nails scratch him though, careful not to hurt him as I did.
