“Where did you both go out last night?” Maya wiggled her brows.
Pushing her back, I replied, “He was showing me around Maya. It’s not what you’re thinking,”
“How do you know what I’m thinking?”
She did me one good. “I just know,” I laughed, “I’m hungry. Can I please eat?”
We were standing in the kitchen and the scent of all that food was making my mouth water.
I could now sit at the dining table and have breakfast with Asher and the rest. Unlike me the rest of them are early risers so they were already done. Maya waited till I got up, which was in the afternoon. Yikes! She must be famished. Or perhaps it’s just an act.

Surprisingly, I woke up on time today. Wearing a long sleeved grey baggy sweatshirt I hopped downstairs. “Oh hell, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle,” my face turned to the side where I heard Maya’s voice. “You’re up early today,” She stood rooted to the ground with her jaw dropped. “Come on, it’s not like I don’t wake up early. Deep heavy panting woke me up from my comforting sleep. I struggled to open my eyes but when I finally did, I saw Asher taking out push-ups on the floor. Dazed, I continued staring at him. I can wake up to this every morning! His biceps relaxed and contracted as he bent down. The muscles of his back bulged out and his leg muscle cuts popped as applied pressure on them. I gulped. Everything around me went quiet and still almost as if time stopped. No more swishing of the leaves or the wind. Even the birds stopped chirping and the squeaking sound of the squirrels coming before were now nowhere to be heard. Not a single sound was made! Gulping, I tried to keep my stance firm.
