Sebastian

After taking Isabella to the hospital, I sat silently in the car for quite a while. My face throbbed with a dull ache, reminding me of what had just happened. This time, I was in a very uncomfortable situation. Isabella’s weak voice kept echoing in my head.

“She hit me, Sebastian… she is jealous of our past memories...”

Her reddened cheek, her tear-streaked face, her trembling voice—it took all my attention and left a deep impression, because it felt so convincing.

Isabella, who had just come out of the hospital, had to experience something like that.

In this solitude, imagining the incident didn’t just make me keep thinking of Isabella—there was a feeling that weighed heavily on my chest and made me feel like I was drowning.

The woman I didn’t love, Cassandra—I’d been married to her for three years, and not once had I treated her kindly.

But… she had never once acted cruelly.

Despite being ignored, she always repeated the same things—preparing food for me, smiling at me.

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 36

Cassandra“What do you mean? Miles is in the hospital because he fainted?”I asked in a loud voice. My heartbeat was racing so fast it made me tremble. Anything about Miles was crucial, he was my whole world. The only one I had, the one I desperately wanted to protect.“Alright. I’ll be there right away.”My voice came out so weak.I tried to think clearly, but I couldn’t. That erratic heartbeat made my whole body shake even more until my legs felt weak, as though they had lost their strength, and I almost collapsed.Just then, Dylan, who had just entered, caught my body.“Sandra, what’s going on!?”He helped me sit down. As he kept watching me closely, I finally managed to speak the truth.“Miles is in the hospital… please help me get there…”I had business at this hotel for work, and with Dylan, I hoped we could finish it quickly. Meanwhile, Miles had wanted to come along with Genna. As Dylan was calming me down, he had contacted Genna about the situation. There was nothing I cared

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 35

SebastianI felt a strange sensation when I saw the child who had bumped into me. Normally, I would have been angry at something like that, but instead, I found myself calmer when I looked into his eyes. I couldn’t quite remember, but it felt as though I shared some kind of closeness with him.Slowly, I managed to compose myself. Perhaps it was because he was a handsome boy and also looked so fragile. The moment I saw the blood coming from his nose, I immediately panicked. Luckily, I caught him in time and quickly brought him to the hospital. My heartbeat quickened after hearing what the doctor said. Now I understood why he seemed so weak.“… has leukemia?”That was not something comforting to hear. At such a young age, it was nothing less than a sentence upon him, a deeply painful suffering.Thankfully, I had brought him to the hospital right away. His calm face as he lay on the bed made me look at him with pity. Perhaps that was also why I hadn’t been angry when he ran into me.I cl

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 34

IsabellaEver since I saw that woman, I knew my position was in danger. I heard from Adrian about Sebastian finding a woman who resembled Cassandra. This was different from what he had done before. He had never shown this kind of interest, only to forget about them afterward. That was why I grew so worried, restless, and tried again and again to reach him. After two days of doing so without any result, my body felt unbearably weak.Things only grew worse, especially when Sebastian’s mother said she would find another woman for her son. It unsettled me deeply, after everything I had done. And then, at last, I received a bouquet of flowers sent by Alden. It brought me a small sense of relief, with the name written on it—‘Sebastian.’“Why didn’t he come to deliver this himself?”I asked him, gently playing with the flower petals I held in my hand.“Sir Sebastian is very busy. He sends his regards to you.”I had the thought that what he meant by being busy was actually spending time with

IsabellaI wanted to be a part of Moonclair. The marriage I longed for never happened, even though I had been waiting for years. No, it can’t be… there’s no way this will never happen at all.The pain inside me grows worse every time Sebastian shows his lack of interest.I’m here because I know his mother would support me, she desperately wanted us to get married. I thought today I would finally find out when he and I would truly be wed.But Sebastian refused. I was shattered by his rejection. And it didn’t end there, his mother blamed everything on me and told me I should leave her son immediately.I don’t want to give up that easily. Sebastian has given me everything I wanted, but marrying him would make me so much better. I never stopped wanting that to happen. The thrill of everyone knowing that I am his partner makes me happy. They see how much Sebastian cares for me, and they envy what I have. That feeling makes me feel better, as though I am far above them all. From all their r

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 32

SebastianDamn it, Mother always does whatever she wants. Forcing me again and again to listen to her words.I still believe that what she wants is only to disrupt my time. Even now, when I’m enjoying things my own way, she keeps forcing me to come to the house, saying it’s very important. When I arrived at the house, Isabella was sitting with me. At this moment, besides being surprised, there was also a sense of dislike that I couldn’t understand. In the past, I would have been very happy with her presence. As if she were my only source of happiness. I should be happy about this, but somehow I responded with a cold voice and ignored her.“What is it, Mom, that made you call me here?”This is downright irritating. Nothing dangerous is even happening.Mother approached me and held my arm, her smile utterly bothersome. “Sit down first. You must be tired from working.”Her words chilled me to the bone. She knows how much work I have to take care of; she knows I sleep at my office more of

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 31

CassandraI was nervous, but everything went well just as I had expected. It’s been two days since they arrived in this city. Besides Dylan helping me gather evidence, we’ve also spent our time pleasantly. That heavy feeling has lifted. Especially now, with Dylan deliberately taking me shopping. I’m not the type of woman who enjoys buying things like dresses or other such items. But Dylan is clever, he took me shopping for Miles instead.“Chocolate is better,” Dylan said as the salesgirl offered two clothing options for Miles.I agreed with that. To be honest, everything Miles wears always makes him look extraordinary, not because he’s my son, but once you see him yourself, you’d definitely agree with what I think. At first, I refused to shop here. I was sure Dylan might be recognized by some people since he’s a well-known lawyer. Being with me could spark gossip, and he might end up hearing about it.But Dylan reassured me, saying that this store belongs to his friend. So, they would
