Chapter Fifty Nine.Delilah stepped out of her father’s car, wondering if it was just another dream, or if she was in fact, back home again.Everything looked the same, yet different, and she could not forget how she had screamed sometimes at night.Poor Dennis had bagged himself a lot of scratches and deep cuts, but as far as that went, he was alright. “Mom!” Delilah ran. “I’ve missed you so much.” “You saw me yesterday, honey.” Natalia chuckled. “I didn’t see you in this house, so I guess that that counts.” Delilah smiled at her. “And aunt Demarr? Are you still hearing from her?” “Yes, she’s getting married soon. Postponed it so that you could be in attendance.” Natalia said, and Delilah squeezed her hands in excitement. “My favourite girls are happy. This is wonderful.” Piero said as he made his way inside. “I hope you’re not gossiping about me.” Natalia gave him the side eye. “Bold of you to think that we’re doing that. We’re talking about Demarr!” She looked back at D
“Honey, I am home!” His voice echos around the large house, making it seem like he had just made a declaration that he was home multiple times instead of once. Natalia sighs, before she wears a pleasant smile on her lips. She contemplates going outside to welcome him home, but as she dries her hands off, she hears the soft thuds of his Salvatore Ferragamos as they hit the ground and she immediately knows that he is approaching the kitchen area. “In here, my love!” Natalia exclaims and turns around to lock eyes with the stormy gray eyes of her husband, Noah. Making sure that her hands are completely dry, she goes towards him and leans in to give him a hug. “Welcome home, honey.” She sighs as she gives him a look full of heartwarming emotion.“How was your day today? You got here late too, too much work kept you there, huh?” Noah chuckles as he places a light, feathery kiss on his wife’s forehead and holds her in his arms in a gentle embrace. Then he looks further from her head, and
“I know that what I did was wrong, honey. Please open up.” Natalia says as she stands outside the door of the guest room that her husband had slept in last night.“Would you please stop being mad at me? You cannot give me the silent treatment forever, do you know?” She rests her forehead and fore arms against the door, leaning into it a bit and standing on her tip toes.“I know that you can hear me, Noah! Please, just open up, would you?” She says, still resting her head on the door, but using a much softer tone.As soon as Natalia had got out of bed, she had headed straight to the guest room where Noah had spent the night in— after brushing her teeth, that is.Noah hates the smell of morning breath, just like a whole lot of bother people and insisted that no one must speak to the other without having their teeth brushed.&n
"I actually love how much he dotes on you, it is the most adorable thing ever!" Wendy Cross, Natalia’s best friend of over ten years squeals like a little girl as she and Natalia are about to step into the house. Natalia chuckles, beaming with pride. “Yes, he is one of the best things that ever happened to me.” “I bet. After me, of course.” Wendy says, nudging Natalia in the arm and then Natalia opens the door for the both of them to get in. Noah stands patiently at the door, his gray eyes clouding over with anger, until he sees Wendy too. Natalia smiles nervously at him as she walks in and Wendy follows suit. “Noah! Waiting at the door for your wife? That is so cute, you are so lucky, Natalia!” Wendy says as she goes in to give Noah a hug: “Wendy.” Noah gave a good natured laugh. “It’s so good to see you.” “Likewise. My best friend looks so nice, it is good to see that you have been taking care of her very well. Thank you.” “If I do not take care of her, Wendy,” Noah shakes hi
Chapter Four.“And so she said that she wanted to go and stay with my mother, and you know I would just do ANYTHING for my baby girl. I don’t see why she is so attached to mother, I mean, I’m my mother’s daughter and I’m not even attached to her in anyway. Delilah on the other hand is. Way too much.” Wendy’s voice rang on and on in the background as she fingered some accessories in the large shopping building.“Oh really, so what happened next?” Natalia sounds like she has heard one too many of Wendy’s stories. If Wendy had noticed, she did not make a comment about it, but continued to speak, unabashed.“Then I said yes, of course. And the next thing she asks is if ‘daddy would be there’, like, am I not good enough for you, kid?” “You know that that was a perfectly normal question coming from her, Wendy.” Natalia says with a shake of her head.“No. No I do not. Her father is someone I can not be with, so all she has and needs is me.” Wendy spits out.Natalia nods as she places a dre
Chapter Five.“I’m home, honey!” Noah’s voice rings out into and around the walls of the large house. “And I can smell something good too! Is it my lucky day, my queen?” Noah asks as he gives a smiling Natalia a big kiss on her left cheek.“How did your day go honey? You’re early today too.” Natalia asks as she tends to the cooking, doing her best to pay attention to Noah and to the food over the fire.“Oh and sorry about the food. I really did not think that you would be back so early. But it would be done soon.” Natalia says with a smile.Noah laughs and kisses his wife on her cheek again.“It is alright, my little queen. I got here before I was supposed to, and once again, a happy anniversary to you!” He exclaims and Natalia turns to look at him, her face brightening up into a cheerful smile.“And once again, thank you, honey. A happy anniversary to you. I am happy that we’ve been together for so long, and I hope that we do so for a long, long time.” “So do I, my little queen. So
Chapter Six.“You should take a bath first though. Freshen up.” Natalia says as she adjusts the blinds, covering them up even more as too much sunlight came in through the windows.“I will soon. I just have to say— to say that today was a great day.” Noah sighs as he takes some more of the clear liquid he had been served by Natalia earlier.“Yes, my love. You always have a great day, don’t you?” Natalia shakes her head and smiles as she takes a seat on the couch adjacent to the one Noah sat on, crossing and uncrossing her legs.“Yes, but today was really wonderful. I just don’t know why. I mean today was a really stressful day for me, clients old and new on my neck and all. But still, I did not seem to mind their whining and it’s the first time this is happening…”Noah continues to speak and Natalia nods on encouragingly, glad that he is opening up to her. He usually never does. It’s always the usual ‘How was your day?’ and the ‘My day went great, thank you.” that usually marked the b
Chapter Seven.Natalia looks up in awe of the decor and the contrasting colours used at the venue, surprised by the fact that even contrasting colours when brought together can create something so stunning. The entire decoration alone, makes her glad that she was able to be there. Noah had only told her about the party after he had got out from bed, and at that time, it was already eight in the morning. The party began at nine and she had to finish up with chores and look for something— decent to wear if she was to go.Noah’s excuse was that he had only been told about it the day before and that he had forgotten soon after. Natalia had no choice but to accept the explanation he had offered, even if it came without an apology.Luckily for Natalia, on her last shopping spree with Wendy, she had got some stunning gowns, and just the way Noah liked them. Past the knee length, no back showing, and not too low a cut at the neck. Her favourite colour was purple, and since there was no par
