It’s been a week since we returned to the academy. Everything was almost back to normal. Almost. Maya was talking to me again but there was coldness in the way she was treating me. This is especially evident when I refuse whenever she forces me to tell her the events of our father’s death. Maya also couldn’t understand my desire to protect her from that nightmare. I get it. She’s mad at me for lying to her.

The only good thing that happened was the change of the arrival date of the Headmistress. She was supposed to come back two days ago but according to the director, the Headmistress had a sudden appointment. I did not ask when she would be back. I was just thankful that somehow our supposed encounter was postponed because my excuse about us being gone for more than a days will definitely not work with the Headmistress. To this day, I still cannot think of a way to explain our disappearance without telling the truth.
