Shaun Smith“Sshh. Everything will be fine,” I gently whispered to Tala. Her whole body was shaking because of too much crying. I hugged the girl even tighter. The day she left with Maya, we had been watching outside the siblings’ school every day. We almost lived there. When I removed the antimagic item from Tala’s neck, I was expecting her to escape from us. I knew that we couldn't just let Maya help us. Tala HillI slowly opened my eyes. I could not see where I was. There was just a faint light in the room I was in. I was still groggy as if something hit my head hard. When I finally opened my eyes, I got up quickly because of what I saw. I was inside of some kind of a barrier. Even though I was not an expert when it comes to magic, I knew instantly that it was made of powerful magic. I scanned the room. I still feel groggy. I remembered what happened and how I got here. But only one thing clearly entered my mind. Mayari was gone. I held my head, I’m having a headache. My sister was taken and I did not even do anything to stop him. I closed my eyes again and did everything to try to contact Mayari through telepathy. But no matter how much I racked my brain, I still could not communicate with Mayari.
