“Sshh. Everything will be fine,” I gently whispered to Tala. Her whole body was shaking because of too much crying. I hugged the girl even tighter.

The day she left with Maya, we had been watching outside the siblings’ school every day. We almost lived there. When I removed the antimagic item from Tala’s neck, I was expecting her to escape from us. I knew that we couldn't just let Maya help us. What I didn’t expect was that they could escape from us so easily. Who would have thought that Tala could fly? I guessed if push comes to shove, it can do anything.

We had been patrolling the school premises since then, hoping that we could talk to the two again. But they never came out, not once did we see them. But what really frustrated me the most was my strong desire to see Tala. I did not even think about our search for home. The only thing on my mind was the girl. Her face, her voice, her beautiful set of eyes, her scent. For seven agonizing days, all I wanted was to see her
