30. Tell me you do

Emma gulped in apprehension, acutely aware of his hand burning against her skin. Drawing her so close to him, Jamie was trying to eliminate any distance between them, physical or psychological. Although his touch was foreign to her, it was comforting nonetheless. Hence, she felt more protected then, unafraid of being vulnerable in front of him. 

“I don't think we should do this anymore.” She said, sighing. 

“Do what?” 

“Live together.” She said, “Your father hates me, Jamie. He thinks I killed my own parents.” 

Emma’s eyes lowered, unable to face him. “You must have heard what happened..” she mumbled, “And you must have believed them too.”
