First Day

Babe's POV

As soon as the English class ended, I ran out of the class not only in search of the locker area but also to avoid the stares and questions.

The distinction between the lockers was different, ranging from pink lockers to blue to yellow. It is so obvious that the students decided to paint their lockers and decorate them the way they want.

I opened the locker and put some of my valuables in it before I locked it and placed my bag properly on my shoulder, ready to go in search of my next class; Physics.

Luckily enough, I was able to get to the class before anyone else and I sat at a desk closest to the window, not ready to disturb anyone with my business.

"That's my seat bitch, Get your stinking ass out " A girl with long wavy hair, dark eyeshadows, piercing beside her eyebrow, nose and lower lip glowered at me.

"I wasn't aware of that, also, I got here first," I replied, trying to prove stubborn. She should have at least be nice about it.

"That's none of my business. Get the hell out of my seat," She yelled, getting the attention of those students that were walking into the class.

"I don't want to," I folded my hands over the desk and smiled at her.

"I swear to God if you don't leave this instant, I'll remove your heart from your chest within a minute" She growled in an inhuman manner.

I was shaken to the core but I didn't want to show it. I've gone through more and this wouldn't kill me.

Would it?

"I said, I don't want to stand up. Do you need some bud to remove the dirt from your ear so you can hear me properly? Miss "I like all things dark" I replied angrily.

That earned 'ooh, oops' from the little crowd that had gathered.

I could see the fire blazing in her eyes as she made funny noises with her mouth. I could see some of the students moving back as some were already covering their ears, getting me all confused.

She was about to open her mouth to say something when someone suddenly pulled her back.

"Calm the fuck down, Maj. We don't want the principal to be pissed off, right?" the guy cajoled her as she continued glaring at me.

"F*ck you," she gave me the middle finger before walking out of the class angrily, pushing the guy away from her.

The guy that pulled her turned to look at me and smirked.

"You're a little trouble, right? The first day at school and you successfully pissed off the worst person you could ever have piss off" He laughed.

"She started it," I said, hoping he'll believe me.

"I believe you, you don't have to hope I do,"

What?

"How did you know?"

He smiled, revealing his gorgeous dimples, "Hi, I'm Liam" he introduced himself.

"I'm Babe, Babe Arnold"

"That's a nice name. We'll talk after class," he quickly dismissed our conversation once we noticed the presence of the teacher.

The class started and before the end of it, I realized Liam was a genius. He knew particularly everything the teacher was saying and he won't stop with the questions and answers. I didn't wait for him to pack his stuff after class before I walked back to the administration office.

"Welcome back, Miss Babara" the woman at the office greeted me as I entered.

We sat down to discuss the subjects I'll be doing and a new schedule was drawn out for me to actually contain all of the subjects.

She also ended up describing the lunchroom to me and asked a student to help me get to the place in time since all I had left was ten minutes for a lunch break.

I picked up a tray and served myself some pancakes and an apple and a juice before paying. I looked around the room and I sighted Pinky, Ivy, and Tommy at a table closest to the door, waving and grinning at me.

"What's up, cousin? How were your classes?" Pinky asked as I got close to them.

"Not the best," I replied.

"Don't worry it'll get better. At least you're in your final year whole someone here is still trying to figure out what they want to do with their life" Tommy sassed

Ivy rolled her eyes before she started, "How am I supposed to make life choices when I still use my fingers to count and sing the whole alphabet to see what letter comes next?"

I laughed along with Pinky.

"Stop living your life this useless, ivy"

"What? I can't hear you. Please turn down the stupid"

Tom grabbed her by her arm in annoyance and the two started to bicker. I couldn't help but laugh.

"I almost had a fight with some girl earlier. She acted really weird and it appeared psychotic to me" I announced, gaining everyone's attention including the two that were busy fighting each other.

"What girl?" Tommy asked.

"Dark eyes, dark eyelashes, dark eyeshadows, piercing at every part of her face" I sluggishly replied.

I hummed in excitement as I took a bite from my pancake that was well immersed in honey. I guess the food here is actually something I'll look forward to always. When I finally looked up from my food, I saw the trio looking at me with their mouths wide open.

"You mean, her?" Ivy asked, pointing towards a table.

I faced the direction she was pointing to and saw Maj sitting on Hunter's lap as she smiled at whatever the other three sitting there were saying. She kissed Hunter's lip and threw her hand around his shoulder.

I felt a sudden pang of pain in my chest. My eyes suddenly swelled with tears. Why does it hurt so much?

"What happened? Like, how the hell did you almost have a fight with Maj on your first day?" Pinky asked.

"She told me to stand up from my seat. I mean, I got there before her" I explained, getting angry.

"WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU STAND UP WHEN SHE SAID SO?"

Pinky yelled, gaining everyone's attention.

She was angry.

"What the hell, Pinky?" I yelled back at her, getting angry at the fact that she sided with Maj instead of her own cousin.

"Stay out of trouble, Babe. I'm begging you, please"

Pinky admonished before getting up from her seat, dumped her food in the bin, and walked out of the lunchroom.

I was silent for a while from the confusion.

"I'm sorry Pinky reacted that way. She should have been more understanding" Ivy apologized.

"Don't bother about me, you guys should follow her," I advised.

"She said we shouldn't,"

"When did she say that? I didn't hear her say that before leaving?" I asked.

"Uhm, a text, she just sent a text" Tommy replied nervously, showing me his phone.

I ignored their reaction and nodded.

"You should try to stay away from Maj from now on, Babe"

"Why?" I asked

"Because she's dangerous and she sure does know how to hold a grudge for a long time," she replied.

"You see that table, try to stay away from all of them,"

That made me look over at the table once more and saw Liam sitting with them.

"I thought Liam was nice," I replied.

"Liam Andino! Nice! I don't think those two words can fit into a sentence" Tom clicked his tongue.

"Why do you say that?"

"He's a ….." Ivy stopped him before he could say anything else.

"Just try to stay away from him. The guy Maj is sucking his face is Hunter, McVegas' bad boy and you know what they say about bad boys, they're always trouble and this one right here is an embodiment of everything called trouble. Right beside him is Liam, he's a top student and well, a manipulator if I put in a lame man's language and Maj, is like the female version of Thanos, don't even go close to her and the twin beside them, Avery and Amy are bad news, just stay away from the crew in one simple sentence" She explained.

I looked over at the crew and studied them once more. I knew Ivy said something but I didn't hear what she said properly.

"What?"

"Don't stare at them too much,"

I nodded and continued eating.

Suddenly, I felt something cold all over my body, and before I could check, my head was banged with a bottle.

Maj pulled me out of my seat towards her body in an unusual manner.

"I heard you're human and that's why I'm letting you go this one time, the next time you try to piss me off, your memorial will be the next to grace the church, bitch. Do you understand me?" She spat, grabbing my hair so tight I could hardly breathe.

"That's enough, Maj. Let's go,"

Liam pulled at her, making her let go of my hair

She pushed Liam away.

"Why is she suddenly mute?" She yelled

"I have nothing to say to you. Why? Because I don't bother responding to fools" I replied and began walking out of the lunchroom.

I could hear her screams from behind me, promising me that I'll regret it.

I was suddenly stopped when a figure appeared in front of me. O looked up to see it was Hunter. A part of me wants to smile at him but the other part was mad at him for unknown reasons.

"You're running away," he said

"It's none of your business, Hunter," I replied.

"Stop saying my name like that. Understood?"

I ignored him as I couldn't find a response to his question.

"Run like you always do, Coward. Nobody cares anyway the same way you don't give a shit about anybody" He spat and moved out of the way for me to walk out.

I bite my lips, trying to control the tears from running down my face. I held the hem of the uniform I was wearing tightly as I found it difficult to move for seconds.

"I didn't…." Before I could finish my sentence, Hunter walked out on me. Immediately, his crew followed. Maj hit me by the shoulder as she walked out and the evil twin glared at me as well.

"Are you okay, Babe?" Ivy asked and I nodded.

"What did he say to you? Do you know him?" She asked

"I thought I did but I mistook him for someone else" I smiled bitterly. "I need to go to the bathroom" I excused myself and walked out.

I clenched my fist as my eyes welled with tears. I wanted to punch the daylight out of her but I couldn't. I just know I couldn't. I looked miserable, I was helpless like always.

I thought I left the monster back at home but I guess it followed me here.

I need to leave! I can't stay here anymore!

Without thinking twice, I pulled out the razor from my bag and rolled up the sleeve of my new uniform. I closed my eyes tightly as images flashed before my eyes. I slashed my palm with the razor and watched as blood gushed out.

I disposed of the razor in the toilet and walked towards the nurse's office, holding my bloody hand.

"Do you need me to call your parents?" She asked worriedly as she tended to my wound.

"No, it was just a mistake. There's no need to get them worried," I informed her and she nodded.

Minutes later, I was given a note to leave school with the principal's permission.
