Dickson's POV

Five years later.

"Mr Dickson, Daisy Reed is the top investor in this project. She has agreed to meet with us at a fancy restaurant across town."

My heart races extremely fast at the mention of Daisy Reed, Daisy? As in my Daisy? The same lady I divorced five years ago?

"Can I see a picture?" I ask my secretary hastily. She nods her head in agreement and taps a few buttons on her phone screen. She turns to me and hands me the phone. I stare at the screen in awe, a photo of Daisy smiling. My jaw drops at how beautiful she has gotten over the years. She looks like she is doing well, financially and emotionally.

After Daisy and I could not bear a child. I had no choice but to divorce her, out of popular demand from the pack elders. Daisy was thrown out of the house and ever since, I never got to see her.

I tried searching for Daisy but I never found her, it was like she did not want to be found, she just left without any traces. Seeing her again makes me feel emotional, it rekindles old feelings that I thought I had buried over the years. I suddenly feel ashamed at the thought of meeting her, as curious as I am to see how she is doing, I would rather ask someone to do that than for to me to meet her myself.

"Is she married?" I ask my secretary. She shrugs and responds. "I am not sure about that sir, do you want me to find out?"

"Yes, please do. Find out everything about her. What is she up to now? Is she married with kids?" I ordered. My secretary nods her head at me. She clears her throat and pushes further "What about the meeting? You are supposed to meet her at a fancy restaurant in the next thirty minutes." She says.

I sigh heavily. "You meet up with her. I am swamped with work. Just make sure to gather information about her as I had requested earlier." I state. My secretary nods her head and excuses herself from my office.

I go back to working on my laptop but my mind remains on Daisy and her wellbeing. Somehow, knowing that she is living an okay life, it feels like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders. I feel less guilty knowing that she is doing well.

Before the day ends, My secretary arrives back at the office. She tells me that the meeting went well with Daisy and that Daisy is more than excited to invest in my company.

I can not help but ask. "What about the information I told you to gather? Were you able to at least find one or two things about her?" I ask with my brows furrowed at her in curiosity. My secretary nods her head at me slowly and speaks up in an uneasy tone. "Well first of all, Miss Daisy is a very secretive person. There is not much on the internet about her but I found out that she is not married, although she has kids."

Daisy has kids? How come?

"How old are they? Was she married before? How come she has kids with no father?" I push further.

"She has Quadruplets, they are five years old and no, she has not been married since five years ago. Not after her divorce with youSir." Rita, my secretary says. I see that she has caught up with what is going on.

Everything seems suspicious. Daisy has not gotten married since our divorce which was five years ago. How then did she have Quadruplets? Through a one night stand maybe? Then what sort of coincidence is that they happen to be five years old?

Could it be that those kids are mine? I gulp a lump down my throat and my hands suddenly become shaky as I imagine that Daisy hid those kids from me, why? For what reason? Does that mean she actually wanted to divorce me?

"Is it possible for you to arrange a meeting with Daisy? Send an email to her that the CEO of the company wants to have an urgent discussion with her." I say. Rita nods her head and walks away.

Two days later, Rita is able to set up a meeting between I and Daisy At a small restaurant. I feel anxious as I approach the exclusive restaurant. I stare at Daisy from the glass doors. She looks extremely stunning in a corporate dress. She sits eloquently and her eyes remain fixated on her phone.

I brace myself for the worse as I push the restaurant doors open. I approach Daisy and halt in my steps right in front of her. I force a smile on my face and wave at her as she rises to her feet and stares at me in what looks like awe.

"Dickson." She mutters. She points to the empty seat in front of her and gestures to me to sit, which I gladly obey. I sit down and so does Daisy.

"It has been a while. Have you been well?" She asks.

I nod my head in agreement and direct the question to her. "What about you? Have you been doing well? What about your kids? Are they doing okay? I heard you have kids and you are not married."

Daisy looks taken aback by my sudden discovery. She scoffs and raises a brow at me. "Really? I thought we were to talk business but I should have known when your secretary insisted that it was an urgent meeting." Daisy snaps at me. She rises to her feet and attempts to walk away but I hastily grab her by the wrist causing her to gaze at me.

"Let go of Dickson. We are only business partners. My personal life has nothing to do with you."

I ignore her and ask the question I have been meaning to ask since I saw her. "Am I the father of those kids?"

"That’s where you’re wrong. I was born in this city. Just like her."Rosa raised her blade. "You were banished.""Banished," Silas repeated. "But not broken."Zuri stepped closer to me. "Mom, don’t let him touch you."Silas tilted his head. "The child speaks the truth. She sees far.""Leave now," Rosa warned."Or what?" he asked. Rosa’s POVThe last time I walked this far into rogue territory, Lycan was alive. Now I walked with his name burning inside me like a vow.Every step was a promise.A warning.A threat. The trees here were twisted, darker than I remembered. The air carried something foul—like blood that had dried long ago but never been washed away.Vera walked behind me. Two of our strongest warriors, Greer and Imani, followed closely. Quiet. Focused. We were looking for a cave the scouts marked. We were looking for **him**.Ignis.But I wasn’t just here for revenge.I was here for answers. And if I had to tear through a hundred rogues to get them, I would.\*\*“Are we close?” Vera asked, her voice low.I glanced at the map. “Just past that ridge.”She pulled her dagger tighter to her belt. “Good. Because I don’t like this place.”I looked around. “Neither do I.”Imani sniffed the air. “Wolves. Close.”“How many?” I asked. She frowned. “Too many.”I drew my blade.“Stay ready,” I warned. “This reeks

Daisy’s POVThe air was colder than usual. Maybe it was the wind. Or maybe it was fear.We left camp before sunrise.Zuri, Rosa, Vera, Lycan, Dickson, and me.Our destination was the **Crimson Wastes**—a dead forest burned in an ancient war, where Rosa believed Ignis might be hiding. No birds sang there. No animals walked. Just ash. Trees like skeletons. Smoke in the air, even though nothing burned.Zuri walked beside me, her hand in mine.“I’m not afraid,” she said.I squeezed her fingers gently. “I am.”She looked up at me. “Why?”“Because fire doesn’t choose randomly. If Ignis is watching you, it’s for a reason.”Zuri went quiet.I didn’t say more. But I could feel something changing inside her—growing stronger. And it scared me.Rosa’s POVWe reached the edge of the Wastes by noon. The land was black and broken. The trees had no leaves. The ground was cracked. The sky looked darker here.Vera pulled her jacket tighter. “This place smells like death.”“It is,” I said. “No life grow

Daisy’s POV / Zuri’s POV / Dickson’s POVDaisy’s POVI was cutting apples in the kitchen when Zuri screamed. Not crying. Not whimpering.Screamed.The knife dropped from my hand.I ran.“Zuri!”I threw the door open. She was on the floor of her room, holding her head, shaking.“Zuri! Baby, what’s wrong?”Her eyes were wide. Her lips trembled.“He’s here.”“Who?”She pointed to the window. “The man from my dreams.”I rushed to the window. Nothing.“Dickson!” I shouted. He came running.“What happened?”“She saw something again. She says he’s here.”Zuri clutched my hand. “He’s not outside. He’s… inside.”Dickson turned. “Inside the house?”“No,” she whispered. “Inside someone’s head.”Zuri’s POVI didn’t know how to explain it.He was whispering again. Not in my ears, but inside my mind.“He says the moon is dying,” I told Mom.She stared at me. “Zuri, what does that mean?”I looked at her. “He’s coming when it turns black.”Dickson knelt beside me. “Zuri, focus. Daisy’s POV“What We Choose To Feel”It was the silence after storms that always scared me most. The stillness wasn’t peace. It was waiting.I sat alone on the edge of the porch, the night heavy with dew. Stars overhead blinked lazily, uncaring of the chaos that had passed.Zuri was asleep.Tobi too.For the first time in what felt like years, there were no screams, no knives, no blood pooling in corners of rooms we once called safe.Just this moment. And me.Then the door creaked behind me.I didn’t have to turn to know it was him.“Couldn’t sleep either?” Dickson asked quietly.I shook my head.He stepped beside me, barefoot, shirt clinging to him from the heat of the house. There was a tiredness in his eyes, but something more—a tightness in his jaw, a quiet storm behind those eyes.We didn’t speak for a while. Not because we had nothing to say.But because we were finally ready to say everything.“Zuri told me something today,” I whispered. He glanced over. “What was it?”“She sai

Tobi and Zuri’s room was at the far end. I opened the door slowly.Zuri was gone.My heart stopped. Then a whisper.“Mom?”She stood by the window, arms wrapped around her stuffed bunny.“Zuri!” I rushed to her. “What are you doing?”She looked up at me. “He’s watching us.”I knelt beside her. “Who?”“The man from before. The one who hides now.”My blood turned cold.“Lycan?” I asked carefully. She shook her head. “No. Someone worse.”Dickson’s POVThe air had that old scent—metallic, bitter, wrong.I stood on the porch while Daisy checked Zuri again.Kelvin approached, gun slung over
