Daisy's POV

Just like that, a small marriage happens between me and Dickson. We move in together. Tonight is our wedding night, I look forward to sharing a memorable night with Dickson.

As I step into the room after a quick shower, I stagger backward in shock as my eyes settle on Rosa and Dickson, they are fully engrossed in a serious make out between the both of them that they do not notice my presence.

Without wasting anymore time, I rush to fetch Luna, she is in the chamber room having a zerious conversation with some pack advisors. "Luna! Please come, hurry." I cry out.

Luna hastily scurries towards me and questions "What is it? What has gone wrong? You are supoosed to be in the room with your husband while enjoying your wedding night." Luna says.

"Rosa, sh-e..." I stutter but I think Luna gets the hint, she tells me to lead her to the room which I hastily do. Luna catches Rosa and Dickson kissing passionately. She slams the door loudly, startling the both of them and gaining their attention.

"How dare you Rosa?" I yell at her, even before Luna can do so. Rosa does not look remorseful. She adjusts the hems of her dress and speaks nonchalantly. "She stole my husband first!" Rosa points at me and yells in a defensive tone.

"Stole? If there is one person who stole Dickson from me, it is you! You are the one who ruined our four year relationship!" I snap back at her. How dare she throw blame at me?

"Shut up! Dickson chose me! He chose me over you. You are just a selfish and salty bitch who can not come to terms with that." Rosa spits at me bitterly. I attempt to reply to her but Luna yells "Silence!" The both of us go quiet, although Rosa cusses under her breath at me.

"You." Luna points at Dickson. "I told you to pick a side! You can not keep playing both sisters around just because you are the alpha of the pack. Focus on your marriage and move on!" Luna orders. Dickson nods his head at her, a sad expression flashes over his face as he stares at me.

Why does Dickson keep hurting me? No matter how much I think we are beginning to grow close with each other again, he does something to hurt me.

"As for you Rosa, you leave me no choice but to disown you! I let you hang around the pack house because I felt pity for you but that does not mean you should ruin a marriage that has already been registered and approved by the elders of the pack. That is disrespect and disregard for me, your sister, the elders of the pack and even the moon goddess!" Luna yells.

Rosa looks taken aback, she clenches her fist tight and throws a tantrum. "Mother! How could you do this to me? I am still the victim here. My husband got snatched and that is all thanks to a certain someone!" Rosa points at me with tears rushing down her cheeks. I know this is just one of her pretences so I am not moved by it at all, not even in the slightest way.

"Rosa! Leave this moment!" Luna pulls her by the wrist and drags her out of the room, leaving me with Dickson.

An awkward silence falls between us and the atmosphere suddenly becomes tense. I run a hand through my hair and bite my lower lip to hold back the tears as I stare at Dickson. I feel this sudden sadness, just by staring at him.

Throughout these years, Dickson has done nothing but cause me distress and sorrow.

"Daisy, I owe you an apology. I am sorry for playing both you and Rosa. You must hate me so much." Dickson mumbles to himself. I sigh heavily and settle down on the bed beside him. I turn to face him with a serious look plastered on my face.

"Please Dickson, for the sake of our marriage." I say. Dickson nods his head.

"I am too tired to talk, goodnight Daisy." Dickson says to me. He lays on the bed with his back turned against me.

Two years pass by and Even after Luna's warning, Rosa does not stop visiting the house, she continues to cause trouble and does her best to ruin my marriage. Although I am no longer bothered by that but by a bigger issue.

Even after two years of marriage, I am unable to bear a child for Dickson. The whole pressure from Luna and the pack elders make things a lot worse for me.

Dickson is impatient too, he keeps fixing the blame on me and as much as I try to explain to him that nothing is wrong with him, he pushes further that I am the cause of our misfortunate.

Each day and night, I cry my eyes out to the Moon Goddess for a child but it seems like she has turned a deaf ear to me. Maybe I am paying my punishment for snatching Dickson from Rosa. Who knows? Maybe Rosa and Dickson were actually meant to be but because of the horrible mistake I made that night by having sex with Dickson, I have ruined everything and now I am paying for my sins.

Sooner or later, I know that the elders of the pack are going to hold a meeting on my behalf. What if they eventually push me to leave the pack house because of my infertility? Where will I go? What will I do?

I sluggishly drag my feet towards the room, with so much on my mind. I halt in my steps and attempt to push the room door open when I suddenly hear shuffling noises. I lean close to the door to eavesdrop.

"You should divorce her, Dickson. You have to do it for your own good. I do not know if Daisy has told you but she has reached early menopause. She can not bear you a child."

Menopause? Why would Rosa go as far as fabricating such to Dickson?

"That’s where you’re wrong. I was born in this city. Just like her."Rosa raised her blade. "You were banished.""Banished," Silas repeated. "But not broken."Zuri stepped closer to me. "Mom, don’t let him touch you."Silas tilted his head. "The child speaks the truth. She sees far.""Leave now," Rosa warned."Or what?" he asked. Rosa’s POVThe last time I walked this far into rogue territory, Lycan was alive. Now I walked with his name burning inside me like a vow.Every step was a promise.A warning.A threat. The trees here were twisted, darker than I remembered. The air carried something foul—like blood that had dried long ago but never been washed away.Vera walked behind me. Two of our strongest warriors, Greer and Imani, followed closely. Quiet. Focused. We were looking for a cave the scouts marked. We were looking for **him**.Ignis.But I wasn’t just here for revenge.I was here for answers. And if I had to tear through a hundred rogues to get them, I would.\*\*“Are we close?” Vera asked, her voice low.I glanced at the map. “Just past that ridge.”She pulled her dagger tighter to her belt. “Good. Because I don’t like this place.”I looked around. “Neither do I.”Imani sniffed the air. “Wolves. Close.”“How many?” I asked. She frowned. “Too many.”I drew my blade.“Stay ready,” I warned. “This reeks

Daisy’s POVThe air was colder than usual. Maybe it was the wind. Or maybe it was fear.We left camp before sunrise.Zuri, Rosa, Vera, Lycan, Dickson, and me.Our destination was the **Crimson Wastes**—a dead forest burned in an ancient war, where Rosa believed Ignis might be hiding. No birds sang there. No animals walked. Just ash. Trees like skeletons. Smoke in the air, even though nothing burned.Zuri walked beside me, her hand in mine.“I’m not afraid,” she said.I squeezed her fingers gently. “I am.”She looked up at me. “Why?”“Because fire doesn’t choose randomly. If Ignis is watching you, it’s for a reason.”Zuri went quiet.I didn’t say more. But I could feel something changing inside her—growing stronger. And it scared me.Rosa’s POVWe reached the edge of the Wastes by noon. The land was black and broken. The trees had no leaves. The ground was cracked. The sky looked darker here.Vera pulled her jacket tighter. “This place smells like death.”“It is,” I said. “No life grow

Daisy’s POV / Zuri’s POV / Dickson’s POVDaisy’s POVI was cutting apples in the kitchen when Zuri screamed. Not crying. Not whimpering.Screamed.The knife dropped from my hand.I ran.“Zuri!”I threw the door open. She was on the floor of her room, holding her head, shaking.“Zuri! Baby, what’s wrong?”Her eyes were wide. Her lips trembled.“He’s here.”“Who?”She pointed to the window. “The man from my dreams.”I rushed to the window. Nothing.“Dickson!” I shouted. He came running.“What happened?”“She saw something again. She says he’s here.”Zuri clutched my hand. “He’s not outside. He’s… inside.”Dickson turned. “Inside the house?”“No,” she whispered. “Inside someone’s head.”Zuri’s POVI didn’t know how to explain it.He was whispering again. Not in my ears, but inside my mind.“He says the moon is dying,” I told Mom.She stared at me. “Zuri, what does that mean?”I looked at her. “He’s coming when it turns black.”Dickson knelt beside me. “Zuri, focus. Daisy’s POV“What We Choose To Feel”It was the silence after storms that always scared me most. The stillness wasn’t peace. It was waiting.I sat alone on the edge of the porch, the night heavy with dew. Stars overhead blinked lazily, uncaring of the chaos that had passed.Zuri was asleep.Tobi too.For the first time in what felt like years, there were no screams, no knives, no blood pooling in corners of rooms we once called safe.Just this moment. And me.Then the door creaked behind me.I didn’t have to turn to know it was him.“Couldn’t sleep either?” Dickson asked quietly.I shook my head.He stepped beside me, barefoot, shirt clinging to him from the heat of the house. There was a tiredness in his eyes, but something more—a tightness in his jaw, a quiet storm behind those eyes.We didn’t speak for a while. Not because we had nothing to say.But because we were finally ready to say everything.“Zuri told me something today,” I whispered. He glanced over. “What was it?”“She sai

Tobi and Zuri’s room was at the far end. I opened the door slowly.Zuri was gone.My heart stopped. Then a whisper.“Mom?”She stood by the window, arms wrapped around her stuffed bunny.“Zuri!” I rushed to her. “What are you doing?”She looked up at me. “He’s watching us.”I knelt beside her. “Who?”“The man from before. The one who hides now.”My blood turned cold.“Lycan?” I asked carefully. She shook her head. “No. Someone worse.”Dickson’s POVThe air had that old scent—metallic, bitter, wrong.I stood on the porch while Daisy checked Zuri again.Kelvin approached, gun slung over
