Daisy's POV

It was just after 11 PM. The kids had finally settled down, and the silence in the house was the kind that made you uneasy rather than calm. I sat by the kitchen island, fingers wrapped around a cup of lukewarm tea I no longer wanted to drink. My eyes darted to the window every few seconds. Ever since I received that photograph, my nerves haven't rested.

Lycan hadn’t texted back. That was already strange enough.

Then came the knock.

Three soft taps. A pause. Then two more.

Not Lycan. Not the nanny. I froze in place.

I walked carefully to the door. My heart thudded in my chest, but I kept my face calm. I peered through the peephole and saw a man I didn’t recognize.

He wasn’t threatening. But his eyes said he knew things.

I opened the door just a crack. "Yes?"

"Mirah sent me," he said immediately. His voice was quiet. Steady. "Roan. I’m not here to hurt you."

I opened the door a little wider. He looked older than Lycan, rough around the edges, like someone who'd seen things

Daisy's POV We walked into Tom’s Pizza House just as the warm smell of cheese and dough filled the air. My kids held onto my hands tightly, all of them talking at once.“Mum, look at the lights! They have fairy lights everywhere!” my daughter pointed at the ceiling, her face glowing with excitement.“I see them, baby,” I said with a smile. “Pick a table. Any one you like.”They ran toward a booth by the big window. I followed slowly, feeling a bit tired but happy. Seeing them laugh made it all worth it.“This table! This one!” my son shouted.“Yes, let’s sit here,” I said, sliding into the booth.A young waiter walked over, holding a small notepad and smiling kindly.“Hi there! Welcome to Tom’s. What can I get for you all tonight?”The kids looked at each other and then at me.“Go ahead,” I said, nodding.“We want four pepperoni pizzas!” my son said proudly.“And can we have chocolate ice cream too?” my youngest daughter added, already licking her lips.I laughed softly. “Yes. The kids were fast asleep in my room, unaware of who was at the door.I walked quietly to the entrance and looked through the small side glass. It was Dickson. He stood there with snow in his hair, hands in his jacket pockets, eyes fixed on the ground.I opened the door slowly but didn’t move aside.“What are you doing here?” I asked, my voice low but firm.“I needed to see them,” he said quietly, not raising his eyes.“They’re asleep. And you weren’t invited.”He nodded. “I know. I just… I couldn’t sleep without knowing if they’re okay.”“They’re fine. You can go now.”He looked up then, and the sadness in his eyes was something I hadn’t seen in a long time.“Daisy,” he said softly, “I don’t want to fight with you. I just want to be in their lives. Daisy's POV I lay on the bed as I watched Dickson sleep so quietly. I can not help but smile at how cute he looks while fast asleep. After lodging at a hotel, I had to move him back to my place around 5am in the morning because it felt awkward if I and Dickson slept together at a hotel. Dickson told me he needed more sleep and that we would talk once the day became bright. Clearly, he was still slightly tipsy from last night's drinking and needed more rest so I allowed him to sleep. The time is already 8am, courtesy to the clock hanging carelessly on the wall. I want to wake him up because I have a bad feeling that his new mate, Rosa might walk in on us but at the same time, I want Dickson to have enough rest.Even after everything he did for me last night, I still love Dickson and a part of me is holding out for him to return back to his senses. "It is creepy to watch people sleep." Dickson mumbles, his rough voice startling me. I gulp a lump down my throat and watch him slowly f

The microphone slips from my sweaty palms and falls right to the floor making a loud thud noise.Suddenly, Luna rushes towards my direction with Rosa behind me, not to mention, Rosa is already dressed in her wedding gown. I can not help but admire how gorgeous she looks, I suddenly feel guilty for having to ruin her wedding, even though she ruined my relationship with Dickson."What did you just do?" Luna growls at me angrily. Her hands reach for the collar of my shirt and she lands her five fingers on my face. Iblink back the tears that threaten to fall from my eyes and I place my hand over my mouth to block the sobs that threaten to escape from my lips."How could you?" Rosa cries out, she falls on one of the empty seats and breaks down into tears. "You promised to keep it a secret from everyone. How could you do this to your own sister publ

Daisy’s POV Daisy couldn’t stop pacing the hallway. Ayra was home, safe in bed, but something felt wrong. Her daughter had slept most of the night, barely waking even when her siblings hugged her or when Daisy cried beside her."She’s not acting like herself," Daisy whispered to Dickson. "She’s too quiet."Dickson knelt beside the bed and gently touched Ayra’s forehead. "She feels warm."Daisy grabbed her phone and called Dr. Mirah. "Please come quickly. Something is wrong with Ayra."Mirah arrived within twenty minutes. She checked Ayra thoroughly. Her face turned pale when she finished."She’s been poisoned," Mirah said softly.Daisy gasped. "What?""It’s a slow-acting toxin. Something designed to weaken, not kill immediately. We don’t have much time.""Can you save her?""I need to know what kind of poison it is. And to do that, I need access to the man who took her."Roan walked into the room. "He’s being held in one of our secured cells. I can take you there."Mirah nodded. "Let

Rosa POVRosa sat in her large bedroom with dim lights and red curtains drawn shut. Her face was pale, but her eyes were filled with rage. She stared at the picture frame on the table—a photo of her and Dickson from years ago. He was smiling. She was pretending. She picked up the frame and threw it across the room. It shattered against the wall, glass flying everywhere."He’s going back to her," Rosa whispered. "Back to Daisy. That stupid, weak girl."She paced the room, muttering to herself. "I warned her. I told her Dickson was mine. But she doesn’t listen. She always wants what belongs to me."Suddenly, she stopped and looked at herself in the mirror. Her reflection stared back. Eyes wide, wild. A cold smile formed on her lips."Fine. If she won’t go away on her own, I’ll make her disappear. And this time, I won’t fail."Rosa met with Elder Tarman in a quiet, private garden behind the council house. He was old, strict, and always eager for a scandal."Elder," Rosa said sweetly, tak
