We got back inside. Clarion was sitting on the floor, lost in thought, and he literally flinched. He got to his feet and bowed his head at us. "You're back."

He noticed the cup in our first hands this time. And I could see the discomfort that settled on his face.

Alpha Was going to say something when my mom walked in. He turned to look at her and nodded. “Perfect. I was just waiting for you to show up to have this discussion.”

Alpha lifted the cup in his hands to Clarion’s face and raised one eyebrow at him. "Can you tell me exactly what this drink is supposed to be?"

"Oh, I already explained it to Luna, but it's supposed to help her ease her stress."

Alpha nodded, staring at him a little.

"What's going on?" My mum came to whisper in my ear. But I couldn't respond to her. I was focused on the conversation that Alpha was having with Clarion.

Alpha's eyes first fluttered to Clarion's hands and then back to his face with one raised eyebrow before adding, "You seem pretty stressed yours
