Chapter 001

Esther's POV

“Wow, a big congratulations to you madam, you are pregnant,” the doctor whispered to me, which made my heart explode.

“wait.. What?” I asked as tears of joy streamed down my face.

I couldn't believe I was pregnant. I can't believe I was finally going to be a mom. After a year of marriage with Michael, finally we are going to be parents.

I place my hand on my stomach, thinking about how much love I would show him when I give birth to him.

The doctor told me some things I needed to do for the baby's health, but I was focused on the creation inside of me, which made me not pay attention.

I grabbed my phone from the bedside cabinet and dialed Michael's number. I wanted to break the news to him there because I couldn't wait till we met.

Michael's phone rang, but there was no response. I let out a sigh, then frowned. Suddenly, a creeping smile appeared on my face when I thought of going to his office and making the announcement specially to him.

“Ahhh doctor, when will I be discharged?” I asked anxiously.

“Ohh you are free to leave madam, and tell your husband I said congratulations” he replied before walking out.

I took a quick shower and got dressed. I furrowed my brows when I remembered I had to drive to his office. I felt like disappearing into Michael's office in a second.

I left the hospital and drove to Michael's office. I arrived at the receptionist's desk, she had a smile on her face when she raised her head, she recognized me.

“Hey Mrs Michael, good afternoon, Mr Michael didn't inform us you were coming,” she said with a cold voice.

“Hey, Emily, ahh yes he himself wasn't aware of my presence, is he around?” I asked.

“Yes madam, he is in his office,” she said.

I had a smile and nodded as I rushed to the elevator and pressed the button.

My heart kept beating in excitement. I looked at myself in the mirror with adortion, then lowered my gaze to my belly, I could feel my lips spreading, letting a smile send shivers up my spine.

Within seconds, I arrived at my husband's door. I paused and took a deep breath. Thinking about how to break the news to him.

I made a quick knock before entering the office. When I entered the mighty, luxurious office, it was empty.

“Ahh where are you?” I whispered, as I wandered around admiring the luxury.

I was confused, the words of the receptionist telling me he was in his office echoed in my ears. Maybe he was in one of his staff's offices.

I was about to turn and proceed to the waiting room and wait for him, when a strange sound reached my ears.

My heart accelerated as I walked towards the direction of the sound.

It was coming from the toilet. I realized that it was a woman's morning. My heart skipped a beat. No! This shouldn't be what I'm thinking.

I stopped in front of the door and listened carefully.

“ungh! harder! faster! Please don't stop! Push inside… ”

I froze. That sounded like Maya, my best friend's voice, that alone made my heart clenched. Tears streamed down my face.

I quickly twisted the doorknob and entered, it dawned on me that I was right all along, it was maya voice, and I'd recognized it in my dreams.

I saw Michael naked thrusting in, it took them a few seconds to notice that I was around. They both stopped and turned in my direction.

My heart twisted painfully, the pain was unbearable. I took a step backwards, leaning on the wash hand basin for support.

My best friend who I had known since childhood and took her as my blood sister, was naked with my husband who loved me and cared for me ever since he laid his eyes on me right in front of me.

“What the fuck!” Michael shouted when our gazes met.

“Why the fuck are you here?” he spat.

“What!” I exclaimed with my hoarse voice. I just caught Michael cheating on me, and he was the one shouting at me.

I couldn't believe what I was experiencing. Michael never shouted at me since when I met him until today and all because of maya.

What have I done to Maya that warrants her doing all this to me?

Why me for fuck sake? Why?

“Maya, what the fuck are you doing here?” I asked angrily as I tried to launch myself on her, but Micheal held my arm and dragged me against his naked body.

“Don't you fucking go close to her,” Michael said, his voice filled with venom.

I felt my handbag drop on the ground as I looked at both of them in shock. I had no idea how to react.

“You want to fucking know why i did this to you?” Michael asked.

I raised my head and looked at him with my teary eyes.

“Because that was what you have been doing to me,” his words confused me more than what I just saw a couple of minutes ago.

“What?” I whispered.

“Oh come on, don't play games you whore,” he groaned.

He grabbed my hand in a tight grip and dragged me to his office. He opened his briefcase and grabbed some pictures.

He threw them on my face, and they landed on the floor. I slowly bent down and grabbed one of the pictures. My heart stopped for a second when I saw a picture of me and a man holding hands in front of a hotel.

I was rendered confused and devastated.

How is this possible?

I never cheated on Michael in my life. In fact, I never loved any man apart from Michael.

I kept staring at the picture as my tears kept dropping on it.

“Now what? Huh? You tell me, who the fuck is that?” Michael spat.
