Leigh’s POV

I didn't have in my plan to be around that day, I wasn't supposed to be anywhere close to the gallery that day.

I had intentionally dropped off the little collections of paintings I had reluctantly agreed to part way with when Kira couldn't leave me, under an alias...“Elle Carter.” No bio was added. No story to give the painting a life. Just plain art.

Kira in her usual dramatic way, swore up and down it would be just fine.

“No one’s gonna have the time to digest and piece it together, babe,” she had assured me. “Besides, Brindlewood these days is the head quarters of Bermuda Triangle of nobodies. You’re perfectly safe here.”

And stupid me foolishly believed her.

Until the last minute when I wasn’t safe anymore.

Until he stormed in without a warning.

Until Logan Hunt stood not anywhere else but in fron

Logan’s POV“I’m not here to request for the impossible,” I said, breathlessly as I quickly covered the little space between us. “i need need a new beginning. A real one this time around. With no scripts attached, nothing to control us. There won't be room for us to pretend we are okay when we’re obviously not.”Leigh didn't say anything, rather, she crossed her arms, her delicate fingers tucked sweetly into the sleeves of an oversized cardigan which I noticed she always wears each time she doesn't trust the world and the creatures inside, even down to herself.“You’re so good with words, good to the point of brainwashing anyone” she said quietly. “But you are forgetting that sweet words don’t undo wounds, especially deep wounds.”I took a fast step toward her, even closer this time. The space remaining between us still in a way felt much like a battl

Leigh’s POVI used to tell all that ever cared to listen that my mother was dead. Not when meant in a poetic way like, “oh she’s finally dead to me”.No, that's not it, I mean dead, involving funeral, bought coffin, truly buried in the ground dead type. And the most craziest part of it all? I didn't find it difficult in believing it too. Or at least, it was so simple convincing myself such exists. It was easier that way than facing the truth.I will never admit that she just leftBrutally walked out of our lives, carrying with her a suitcase that in no way had the room, enough to pack in all the emotional, psychological damage she caused us as she was going.I was barely seven years old. It's still clear in my head like a scar from a deep wound remembers the blade that caused it.She had dressed up all beautiful, wore this red scarf aroun

Logan's POV “I’m not going craze, Mason.” I defended.I angrily slammed the car door closed and dramatically crossed my arms just the exact way a toddler refusing vegetables would have done.Manson sighed, already getting fed up with my childish attitude, his fingers drumming the steering wheel in a manner that suggests he might beat me up anytime. “I didn’t say the part which states you were crazy. I only said you seemed unraveling.” he tried to explain, but I wasn't having it.“There’s a little difference?” I asked while pretending.“Yes, big difference!” he threw his hands up trying to make me understand and reason with him.“One obviously involves padded walls and chains. The other involves for no reason, you staring awkwardly at Leigh’s Instagram profile for hours, especially at 3 a.m., the kind that suggests it owes you child support.”I scowled, still trying to defend my stupidity. “I’m just a young man who's madly in love.”“No,” he said with a finality. “From my point, you’r

Leigh’s POV“You’ve got a visitor awaiting you,” Kira had announcd, poking her head dramatically into the art studio. “And from my honest observstion, she looks like trouble.”I didn’t even care to turn. “If it’s another crazy customer here to ask for a portrait of their sweetheart dog dressed as a Victorian butler, I beg you in God's name, tell them I’m totally booked till the next two centuries.”Kira didn’t even laugh as usual. She just cleared her throat, maybe to indicate it was way more than that.“She told me her name is… Marianne.”On hearing that, I didn't know when thevpaintbrush slipped out of my fingers.Marianne...Let me introduce myself properly to you all. My full name happens to be Raleigh Marianne Maverick. The only other person in this planet earth who would risk calling my name in full and without f

Logan’s POV“Tell me right now.” I demanded from Mason, but he didn't even move an inch. Well, I finally took a break, at least time to allow him forget it, them I would strike. So, he didn't reveal the location. He seemed more dedicated to our relationship than the actual people in it.♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️When the devil swore with the intention of destroying your life, she doesn’t come out wth horns. She's best to win you if she walks in wearing velvet heels, all dressed on silk, the exact one that hug your body shamelessly. This time, she's dedicated to hugging every regret you succeeded in burying and with the deadly smile: “Remember how you kissed me?”Her name?Clara, not Francesca. You might be wondering how many ex I have. Well, Clara before Francesca, at least for now, until others pop up their head. Clara was the nightmare my mot

Mason’s POV“Bro, you’re definitely gonna starve to death if you continue staring at that picture,” I said, half joking, but terrified at his new look.Logan didn’t care to spare me a blink. He only concentrated at staring at Leigh’s photo, as if he was getting a great dosage of oxygen from looking at it.“She had this special thing that I never saw in any other lady,” he murmured. “Whenever she was mad at how I handled the journal work, she would always tilt her head towards the left. Not fully but slightly that it appears sexy to me as I think avout it now. It always gave the vibe of a bird not worthy of pecking."I sank comfortably into the couch opposite him, carelessly tossing away my jacket on the floor in a fun way. “Logan, be a man. You haven’t cared to eat in two days. You even called your PA ‘Leigh’ countless times this morning, to the

Dark Secrets in the StudioLeigh’s POVMy studio turned out a big mess, brushes stuck out horribly in mugs that once cheerfully held coffee and now, with no honor hold murky water the color of a disastrous heartbreak. The main piece right in front of me, the very one having just his face. Not the version that I already did a cleaned up on.Not that version that screamed smile at camera. It was the exact version that only existed between 2:00 am in the morning and early sunrise, when his eyes only appears tired and lost in compromise for me.I mix a little of cadmium red though burnt and I bent over and murmur even not to my hearing to the paint, “Please don’t try to make him too perfect. I just need you to make him real.”Right behind me, I ignored the kettle as it whistled non stop. This part I'm venturing into in painting the portrait needs silence.Som

Logan's POVThe Pretty Girl with the CameraI had come here with the aim of buying coffee.Just coffee, nothing more.I intended buying one cup, black, no addition of sugar. Just like my unguarded thoughts lately.Instead, I found myself inside an art fair. The café was closed, and someone, maybe the person incharge had thought it wise to stuck a handwritten sign on the door which read:“Gone out to get inspired. Be back in a jiffy, never.”So I wandered around aimlessly. The street was strangely busy with weekend people, ranging from beautiful couples holding hands, to toddlers joyfully screaming at balloons, students scattered all over the place with sketchbooks, and of course, not forgetting booths of handmade soap and earrings that if estimated could cost more than the worth of my shoes. Then, I saw her.Well, not Leigh. But someone that reminds me of her...She was n
