Chapter 24. A Failed Promise.

     I can’t find Martha anywhere near Richard, I begin to worry as I wonder what happened to her, wasn’t she supposed to return with Richard, weren’t they supposed to return together. Without answering Richard’s question, I immediately asked mine, “where’s Martha?” 

     As if disappointed he stares at me blankly for at least thirty seconds before answering. “I asked you a question first, Mira, your husband came home and you didn’t even care about me, and rather asked about some stranger who might not even feel the same about you.” He gasped and stepped back, but soon the disappointed look on his face changed in an instant. “Martha ould return tomorrow, she’s been tasked to an important mission and would only return after she has completed her task tomorrow. Don’t worry, I made a promise not to hu
