INICIAR SESIÓNMy whole life i have been in my sisters shadows. Madelina was the best. She was the smart one, the beautiful one and the one my parents would sacrifice everything for. I have never thought about compeating with her not even when she destoryed my life and took my fiancee. But when my parents, the people i knew did not see me as her equal threw a paper at my face, my whole world stopped. They were asking em to take her place and marry Luciano. The devil faced Luciano that ruined everything he touched. The man who had asked for my sister but got me instead. Never had i thought that he would be the man to free me and show me a world i mattered and was loved.
Ver másI stared at the contract on the table with a grin on my face. My father’s cold and emotionless words hit me like a truck again and again. Honestly, I did not know why I still hoped he would change his mind and look at me like a daughter rather than a backup plan he kept in his back pocket. One he only used when it benefitted him.
The good things were never mine, but the bad — I had grown up to long and embraced it like a second skin. Sign it. Your sister cannot marry Luciano Demilia. Of course she could not. His sweet little daughter could not even stand a mosquito bite; how would she survive marrying a man who loved to kill and torture like a beast who had no humanity? I was different. In their eyes, I was no different from Luciano. In their eyes, I had lost all my humanity four years ago when I split a man’s throat open when he tried to rape me. For the past four years they had never forgotten to mention it, repeating it like I deserved to be raped. “Why should I be the one to marry him? He asked for Melinda, did he not?” I said as I leaned back into the chair, ignoring his angry eyes that stared at me like he wanted to burn me alive. “Melinda is already engaged. How could she marry him? Plus, your younger sister is delicate — she cannot survive in Luciano’s world.” There it was. Delicate. Melinda was anything but delicate, yet like fools they had believed her mask and manipulation like a holy script that deserved to be worshipped. She could not survive in Luciano’s world because people like her did not deserve to live in any world. People like her should burn in hell and never stay on earth to disgust human beings. “That was not what I asked, dear father. Why should I marry a man that did not ask for my hand? What do I gain from it?” My father’s face shifted from angry to disgusted, almost as if he could not believe that the person sitting in front of him shared the same blood as him. I did not care what he thought. For years I had longed for his approval and acceptance. I excelled in anything I did, yet with a single tear from his little princess, all my hard work was seen as me overshadowing her. I had learned to fight for myself no matter what they believed. Their thoughts were not going to keep me alive in the underworld, nor would they feed me and keep me full if Luciano decided to dump me in a dark and cold underground house because of their stupid stunt in deceiving him. “Is money all you care about? She is your sister — can you not sacrifice something for her!?” my father roared as his face turned red with anger. His palm hit the table so hard it shook for a moment, spilling the cup of water all over the table. Ironically, it did not wet the white and black file on the table. “Sacrifice? Father, you seem to have forgotten who I am. I do not sacrifice myself for anyone. If you want someone to sacrifice themselves for her, go to the church.” The words left my mouth cold and ruthless. This was me. The me they hated and wanted to destroy. The me they had for years tried to grind into nothing but a mold of my sister. “25 million and the villa on the coast. Now sign the damn paper, Valentina,” he said as he threw the paper on the table once again, but this time right in front of me. I picked up the pen and opened the file with a smile on my face. Twenty‑five million — did he really think I was that stupid? If he could afford to buy Melinda a necklace worth 30 million, he could afford more to buy her freedom. Putting down the pen, I turned to him with a cold and detached gaze. “Father, are you buying your daughter’s freedom, or are you sending away a beggar? 250 million and the villa on the coast, or else get your princess down here to sign the papers,” I said with a calm voice that made his outburst earlier seem like an ungrateful child throwing a tantrum. “Just sign the papers,” he said with a voice that was meant to sound calm, yet the anger beneath it could not be covered up. Pathetic. They were all pathetic and filthy people who only knew how to exploit others. Did they really think me signing a contract would make me disappear forever? I smiled at the thought, took up the pen, and signed my name. Luciano Demilia. A name that carried so much weight and horror was now next to mine on a worthless piece of paper. I never feared the unknown — maybe because I have always been a part of it — yet right now all I could think about was how I would return. I would return, and I would take their lives by storm and destroy everything they had built. The chance I had spent years looking for had come to me with open arms. If my father knew what I was thinking, he would have skinned me alive, thinking I had ripped him off — but so what. The 250 million was for all the troubles and stupid things I had to do for Melinda. Not only did I deserve it, but I also deserved everything they had to their name. “Transfer the money to my account latest this afternoon, or else I might just decide to give Luciano a call to tell him about your stupid stunt.” Leaving behind those words, I left my father’s office and turned to my room. I did not want to see the smug smile on that woman’s face right now.Luciano's povI cursed under my breath as I grabbed my car keys in the closet before I hurried down the stairs, not bothering to hang up on the panicked bodyguard on the other side of the phone. A bodyguard who had left my brother alone to make a deal with someone he was not supposed to make a deal with. Now I understood why he had come up with a stupid excuse of oversleeping instead of signing the contract with Rivera. Right now I was beyond agitated and frustrated — I was mad, raging even. My younger brother was not a very careful person; heck, he never thought about what he did and the consequences it could lead to. And this one might cost him his life.I entered the kitchen to see Valentina and Marta standing above the stove, talking about something I could not make out or hear, but that was the least of my problems right now.“I have to head out for something quick, I’ll be back later,” I said, waiting for her to turn fully and give me a shocked but gentle nod before I rushed out
Luciano's Pov“I do not care how or what you do, get it done, Allen,” I screamed at my idiot of a younger brother through the phone as I cut the call and slammed it onto the table with frustration. This is why I like to do my own shit. The moment I allow anyone to do anything for me, they give me a headache that wouldn’t exist if I had just done it myself. In this case, my younger brother had overslept on the day he was supposed to sign a contract with one of our biggest clients. How he managed to actually forget something of that importance was beyond me.I let out a sigh and ran a hand over my face as annoyance bubbled in my body. The adrenaline needed to be vented out or else I would beat the fuck out of my younger brother the moment I saw him. I stood up from my chair and made my way towards my bedroom to change from my comfortable clothes to a pair of gym clothes before I started my workout. As soon as I opened the door to my room, I was greeted by Valentina standing in the middl
It was safe to say that she was not very happy with my choice, but I could not care any less about her happiness. As a coach she was shitty — never once did she care about our health and wellbeing. If she could get paid for our misery, then I was allowed to compete in whichever category I wanted to. Either way she was going to make my life harder; I might as well do it with someone I enjoy being around. “You do realize she is going to be up your ass for this, right?” Selin said as she held my leg, stretching it as far up as she could until my muscles protested in pain. I tapped her shoulder before I pulled my hamstring back. “I could not give any less shit about her opinions right now. Either way she was not going to make these coming three months easier.” We switched positions as she stood and balanced herself on one leg, holding my shoulder as I now stretched her left leg as high as I possibly could before I felt her tapping my shoulder. “Let’s not talk about her. Tell me about yo
“I love him,” Luca said as he pointed towards his jersey, the one Uncle Will had bought for him as his fifth birthday gift. “He is so good. I want to be like him when I grow up,” he said proudly, puffing his chest like a proud mother. His love for football had worried Marta, but she quickly realized she would rather have him obsessed with this stupid sport than hooked on video games and YouTube. I personally did not know why it would be a problem for him to watch a sport — after all, everyone had a passion for something — but it wasn’t until I saw him ugly‑cry about his team losing that I understood Marta’s hardship. He got grumpy and rather distant when his team lost. I mean, how devastating could it be for a couple of men running after a ball to lose a game? My question was always answered with sarcasm and Luca’s burning eyes.“Personally, I think Turan is better than him,” Luciano said as he crossed his arms over his chest. This man really knew how to get into people’s heads, becau
