Chapter 8:

Noah’s voice was like a sleeping pill, and I got sleepy every time I listen to it for a short time.

Noah wouldn't wake me up either until I got asleep.

Strangely enough, during the sleep, I actually did not have nightmares!

"Did you sleep well?"

Noah asked with a sideways smile as he sat on the edge of the bed looking through the papers.

"Well, no nightmares."

Perhaps because of this, I was also in a much better state of mind than usual.

Noah got up and walked out, closing the door gently.

I changed my clothes before walking out and Noah was ready to change my medicine.

Because the wound was recovering faster, the change of medicine was now not as painful as before, and even the medicine was applied to the wound with a slight cooling sensation, which was very comfortable.

After changing the medicine, Noah sat on the couch looking through a stack of papers while I sat next to him.

Noah’s ace became more and more ugly, raising his hand to rub his forehead.

Although I didn't understand it, I knew that it must be something that made him feel worried.

I was still wondering why he was so annoyed and upset when Noah took my wrist and pulled me into his arms.

"That's much better."

Noah wrapped his hands around my body and resumed that gentle smile on his face.

I leaned into his arms, my cheeks burning.

Noah’s body seemed much warmer than usual, or at least not so cold.

The faint scent of his body made people feel at ease, as well as his serious look that made it impossible to look away.

"If you still want to sleep, lean on my shoulder and sleep some more, and at 6 p.m., we'll leave for the party."

Noah was still holding me, but his eyes were fixed on the paper in his hand.

I moved my body gently to make myself as comfortable as possible and to avoid blocking his view of the document.

Finally, I was bold enough to put my arms around his waist and hug him gently.

My heart felt like a million deer were crashing everywhere, and I wondered if he would be angry with me for my actions.

I could feel Noah’s breath stop for a second, and the sound of his heart beating just as fast as mine.

Two seconds later, Noah returned to normal and continued to look at the paper.

Once again, there was a knock at the door of the

room.

And I always got sleepy whenever I was around him.

The knock on the door woke me up instantly and I hurriedly sat up straight.

If someone saw me lying asleep in my master's arms, they would definitely ask Noah to kill me.

Noah looked to the door of the room while blindfolding me with his hand.

I couldn't see what was going on in the room, but I heard Noah say something in Blood language with obvious anger.

Although I didn t understand exactly what he said, the only thing I could say for sure was that the vampire count just swore.

The person outside the door did not dare to make a sound, yet I did not hear the footsteps of the departure, so he should still be outside.

When everything fell into place, Noah leaned back on the couch, maintaining the same position he had just held me in, as if nothing had happened.

"Sir, are you angry?"

I asked tentatively.

"Yes!"

Noah nodded seriously, followed by a look of condescension and discontent.

I lowered my head, as a pet, I could not pursue too much.

"Did I scare you?"

Noah suddenly remembered something and asked cautiously.

I nodded, but then shook my head.

I did get a little scared just now, but I also knew that he wasn't angry because of me, and I wasn't involved, and I shouldn't have been afraid of him.

"I'm sorry, Grace , I didn't mean to freak you out."

Noah apologized to me with a guilty conscience.

"It's okay, I'm not scared."

I plucked up my courage and said.

Noah was so happy that he looked at me and smiled.

I stood up and headed to my room, a little hungry.

By the way, the door to the room was opened and the person at the door turned out to be Ike.

He was holding several boxes stacked together and all different colors, pink, light blue, ruby blue, white as well as gold.

"Grace , thank you."

Ike said gratefully, I was a little confused. I just opened the door, but was there any necessity for him to thank me like that?

Several boxes were placed on the table with Ike standing next to them.

"Monsieur le Comte, the evening dress has been delivered."

Ike respectfully said to Noah.

"Grace ,try on these dresses first, choose one you like and wear it to the party tonight."

Noah said gesturingly, with expectation in his eyes.

I carried a few boxes back to my room and opened them one by one.

Each gown inside was exquisite and I gently stroked them, soft as feathers, each with a signature rose motif on it.

In the end, I chose the dark blue evening gown.

When I walked out of the room, both Noah and Ike looked at me with wide eyes, making me even more nervous.

"The Lord Noah, can you be sure that she is not the princess who ran away?"

Ike slowly turned his head to look at Noah and asked.

Noah had a satisfied smile on his face, while I rolled my face because of Ike's words and turned my head sideways, not daring to look at them.

"Two hours to go, Ike, have the maid come over and dress her up."

Noah said to Ike.

"Yes, The Lord Noah ."

Ike finished and walked out.

Noah stood up and walked over to me, reaching out and caressing my cheek.

"Sir..."

I looked up at him, only to see his eyes narrowed in a smile The maid quickly rushed over and took me back to my room.

The figure in the mirror kept changing its appearance, and finally even I couldn't believe that the girl in the mirror would be myself.

"Wow, my goodness, she can be so beautiful!"

"I'll bet a hundred gold coins that she's the most beautiful human I've ever seen."

The maid stood behind me in awe and I didn't know what to do with myself.

Except for my parents, no one had ever complimented me, even once.

"Well, Grace, it's time for you to go."

A maid reminded me with a smile.

That's when I walked out.

Noah smiled, shook my hand, and left the room to walk toward the front door of the manor.

I went on Noah’s all-black car and sit next to Noah .

When he bought me out, I was bruised, dirty and smelly. That s the first time I sat next to him.

He was the one who untied all the chains from my body and made it so that I would never see them again.

"Grace, don't leave my sight no matter what, remember?"

Noah turned to me and said.

I nodded, and I didn't want to be in a strange place where I couldn't find him.

All along the way, I was looking out the window at the rapidly receding landscape.

The car went up the road and climbed the hill. At the top of the hill was a luxurious villa.

As the limo pulled up to the door, a middle-aged man in a tuxedo and white gloves approached.

"Welcome, the Lord Noah."

The man said with a polite bow and pulled the door open for Noah.

But when he saw me, he was obviously a little surprised.
