The gang leader and I

Leonardo's pov

 " Run man , run. The cops are here", one of his workers shouted signalling to them.

He removed his cigarette, inhaling it one last time before stepping on it turning the light out.

"You said this mission was a safe one", Leo shouted punching his worker right in the face.

" Get him to the car, now", he yelled.

   He rubbed his face hitting the wall behind him. The siren getting louder as it neared them.

"Fucking shit", he said stepping into the car. He pulled out a cigarette lighting it before dragging a large puff. He exhale into the face of the bundled man in his car.

  Grinning widely. He brought out his phone dialling a number.

"Yo man", he spoke 

A mumbling voice was heard.

"Hey Leo,how are you man?", the receiver asked.

Leo chuckled putting the cigarette in between his fingers

"Guess who is here with me?" He smiled,  staring at the man as he struggled to free himself.

"Who man?", the receiver asked.

" Bolov", he answered noticing the receiver quiet

"Cat got your tongue Juice?", he sneered.

"You dare mess with me juice?", He squeezed his hands tight breaking the bud into two.

" No Leo I dare not man", juice replied.

"Then why was Bolov escaping with my goods? You want my coke for yourself juice?", He shouted.

"No man, it was a misunderstanding, hear me out", juice stammered.

"You know what I hate most?" He asked.

"Please man,please I ...."

   He heard juice scream as a gunshot sound was heard. He ended the call.

"Betrayal", he smirked.

" And you Bolov, you are in real deep shit my man", Leo laughed seeing Bolov trembling on his spot.

Elizabeth's POV

" Stop there, thief stop her", a man with long beard shouted . He heavily breathe crouching down to take deep breaths.

" Thief", he wheezed.

Elizabeth looked back still running, she smiled knowing the fat bald man couldn't keep up with her. Running, she kept the bread in her worn out dress. 

  He was chasing her for a piece of bread, what a selfish man.

Panting heavily, she ran into a man, getting knock down by him.

" You little thief", the man slapped her right across the face making her fall. He dragged her petite body taking her to the man she stole from. She bit his arm hard making sure to leave a bite mark. Kicking him on his groin. He screamed.

" You little bitch, you won't get away with this", he yelled at her 

He cringed at been kicked in the crotch

 Elizabeth turned sticking her tongue out at him

"Fuck you", she screamed,her legs picked up speed, running to her territory.

She entered a small hole enough to fit her, it was an abandon yard filled with dirts. That was where she sleeps. She made sure she wasn't seen entering the yard. 

Inhaling deeply, she slumped on her torn bedsheet. What a day!

   Eating her bread silently she wondered how her friends are doing in the orphanage. Life here was better than when she was in the orphanage. Although, she doesn't have to steal meal.

She sighed laying on her bed looking up the clouds. Yawning, she lazily stood up keeping the remaining bread in a plate to prevent it been eaten by mice. She practically live with them.

  She peeped through the hole looking left and right before running out. She headed towards the orphanage hoping to see her best friend there.

    November arrived spreading a damp chill over the ground and into the street of America. Elizabeth held her thin jacket tightly, rubbing her hands. 

  Cool breeze blew pass her, she shivered rubbing her stiff hands, letting out cold air. Her thin jacket couldn't help with the cold.

   She covered her tangled thick hair with a scarf, wrapping it around her neck. She let her head down to avoid been seen by her chaser. Elizabeth had always live her life watching her back , she came across the orphanage.

" Okayyy", she murmured rubbing her hands. She found a trash can, arranging it, she used it as a leverage. Climbing on it, she raised herself up holding the orphanage fence, she climbed over it. Her legs dangling on the fence. Looking down, a careless landing will lead to her breaking a leg or arm. 

 She leaned against the tree beside the fence,  holding the branches, she jumped. Her hands slipped making her fall .

Yelping, she fell flat on the ground.

" Nice landing", someone said

" Yeah, I am a good climber you know", she said dusting her dress 

" You are?", Veronica asked.

" Don't you know what sarcasm is?", She rolled her eyes stretching out her hands.

Veronica helped her up 

" Very funny", she looked at Elizabeth. Staring at each other before laughing.

" Thought you weren't coming", vee said.

" I won't miss it for the world" , Elizabeth replied.

" Happy birthday Vee", she handed a box to her 

 " What is this?" ,Vee asked smiling.

" Open it ".

Vee tore the parcel open, surprised, she found a butterfly necklace.

" Wow!" She exclaimed.

" This is beautiful, put it on , put it on...onn", she squealed jumping in joy.

 Elizabeth smiled sweeping her thick afro, she placed the necklace in her neck.

" You look beautiful, it suits your dark skin", Eliza complemented her friend. Veronica, her dark skin glowed in the sun. 

" Thank you", she smiled. 

"Where did you get the money to buy it?", Vee asked checking the necklace. She paused staring at Elizabeth. Elizabeth scratched her head.

"I saved up to get it", she answered. Unable to face Veronica, she kicked the pile of leaves laid neatly on the floor.

 "Did you steal it?" Vee gasped.

"Welll-ll, I only took it, I was planning on giving him the money later when I have it", she spoke quickly raising her hands in surrender. She doesn't want her friend to be hurt.

"You promised Eliza, you said you won't steal again", turning her back on Eliza, she was hurt, Elizabeth promised her.
