Chapter five

                                                        (Kora POV)

I lay in bed tossing and turning all night. Thinking about what Seth told me about some mates don't wait for their other half. My true mate could be unfaithful to me. It makes me think why the hell did I keep myself pure if he is sleeping around. I may have slept a few hours, but as I look at the clock on my night stand I seen that it was about five am. I decide to just wake up and go for a run. My wolf and I are so restless, but I didn't want to be alone. I decided to mind link Bianca to see if she is awake.

'Hey, are you awake?' It was only a few minutes before she link back to me.

'Of course, why?'

'My wolf and I need to run, so I was hoping you will come with us. I was also hoping you can get a hold of Gen as well.' Genevieve is Bianca best friend and my fathers Beta niece. His brother's mate was the daughter of Alpha Blake of the blood stone pack that were all killed by rouge wolves. Her and Brayden were the only two that lived. Ryan was the only relative that Gen had, so he adopted her. Her birthday is a few weeks after mine and Bianca. It will be the day before the ball party.

'Oh, she's here with me. She stayed with me for the night. We were both going to do some yoga this morning, but we can go on a run with you instead.' It really didn't surprise that Gen was with her. They were pretty much always together.

'Alright I'll beheading to your room in about 20 minutes.'

'Kay, we'll be ready by then.'

I headed for my clothes, and I get a pair of black sweats and a black t-shirt. I put my tennis on and put my hair into a ponytail. Heading toward my sister room and lucky her room is very close by. Before I could knock on the door, it opens and, in the doorway, stood Gen. She was about the same height as me but slim like Bianca. Her hair is a soft medium brown and her eyes were a light silver grey. She smiled at me with such innocent eyes that made her face softer. Bianca came up from behind her, they were both wearing black yoga pants, but Gen wore a blue t-shirt and Bianca wore white.

"Are you two ready yet."

"Sure sis, let me grab my shoes and we can get going." She walks back into the room as Gen and I wait for her. Looking at her I noticed a black leather rope necklace with a silver ring on it. It looked to be a male ring. It was a thick silver ring with some cravings and a blood red stone.

"Gen, where did you get that ring? Was it your fathers ring?" I walked over to her and pointed at her neck.

"Oh this?" As she picked it up and looked at it. "No, It's something I got from a guy I met in the woods when I was about 8 years old. I was playing with some of the other kids in the pack. Not long into the game I got lost. I was getting scared when I heard something behind me, and I tried to hide in the tall grass. When I looked up, I see this guy with wavy chestnut brown hair and silver eyes. He came over to me and kneeled. He looked right into my eyes with a confused expression on his face. I'm not sure why but I felt safe with him. He had a very nice smile that I had a feeling he didn't do that very often. He held out his hand to me and lead me back to the pack house. On they way there I noticed his ring. I asked him about it, and he told me that he had gotten it from his father when he came to age. When we get to the house, he told me that he had to get going but than he took his ring off and put it on a leather rope. He put it around my neck and told me that he will come back for the ring and me."

"That sounds a little creepy if you ask me."

"No, he told me that the ring will keep me safe. He also visit me often to see how I was doing. He was also was there to protect me when my pack was attack, he saved my life and took me to Brayden. I never actually met him before that day but heard a lot about him from my brother."

"Wait, you have a brother?"

"I had a twin brother, but he died or so I believe he did. I never heard from him nor anything about him." She looked so sad. She wanted to say more but Bianca came out into the hallway.

"Come on you two, lets get going."

We walked downstairs and down the hallway toward the back door. I heard someone behind us clearing his throat.

"Where are you three going?" I looked up to see Brayden." Well?" He didn't look happy at all. He had some paperwork in his hand. Bianca went up to him as she put her hand on his chest and he seemed to calm down a bit.

"It's alright Bray, we're just going out for a run." He brought up his free hand to her face.

"Alright Angel, please stay close to the pack house. There has been more rouge wolfs sighted around here lately. I will be out there a little later today training and securing the area. Just be careful and that goes for you too Gen. Kora, look out after them for me. I know you well enough Kora that you'll be able to protect them and that's because I trained you well." He gives us a quick smile and kiss Bianca on the forehead before leaving. We walk toward the woods near the house. As we get there, I started looking for a clothes locker to be able to put our clothes into as we're running in our wolf form. We always leave our clothes in bags with our names on them as we put away our clothes. As wolfs we are used to being naked around others. The morning air is filled with the cracking and braking of our bones as we shift into our wolfs. Yes, it still hurts but not as much as it did on my first shift. In wolf form our fur color is usually the same color as your hair. Mine and Gen is a brownish color, but my wolf has some red in it. Bianca just like my mom and brother with white fur but hers has some silver platinum color in her white fur. We ran for hours and I know that it's almost time for breakfast but I'm still not very hungry and I wasn't in the mood to see Seth anyway. When we get to the river that's near the pack house, I decide to lay in the grass to feel the warmth of the morning sun on my fur, smelling the flowers that are nearby. Listening to the river to calm my mind as I just lay there whatching Bianca and Gen playing as they pounced each other near me. Bianca stops to walk up to me.

'Hey sis. What's wrong? You're not acting like your normal self.' I just lay there not sure if I feel like talking about what Seth said. 'Hey there's a locker over there. I think we left our bathing suits here from last time we went swimming.'

'Yeah we did.'

'Lets go swimming. Hey Gen, do you want to swim too?'

'Sure, it sounds like fun.'

'You both know it's almost time for breakfast.'

'Yes, but we'll let you cook for us when we get back home.' Bianca says as she blinks her eyes innocently at me. I cant help but laugh to myself.

'Alright, I'll make you both some chocolate chip pancakes when we get back.'

'Really, wow. Did you hear that Gen?'

'Yes, and it sounds great.'

We went into human form and got our bathing suits on.

"Ok Kora, are you going to tell us what's on your mind? You seemed lost in your thoughts."

"I'm not sure I really want to talk about it."

"Come on Kora your always telling Bianca and I that we can tell you anything. I want you to be able to talk to us about anything as well."

I sigh as I walked into the water. The water was cold, but the air was hot. So, I welcome the cold water against my skin. I just wanted to float in the water for awhile in quietness. I'm not sure how long we were in the water, but after awhile we get out to lay on the grass soaking in the sun.

"To answer your question, I'm just a little upset with Seth for telling me that not all mates wait for their other half. So now I wonder if my mate will be the same as Seth by being unfaithful."

"So that's what is bothering you. You shouldn't listen to what our butt head of a brother says. Not everyone is like him."

"What Bianca says is true. My cousin Dylan is still waiting for his mate. It doesn't matter how long it takes to him. Seth and Kay are going to regret it when they do find their mates."

They're probably right. Just because my brother and some others can't wait doesn't mean that my mate will be the same. Both Bianca and Gen lay there on the grass now. I sit there grabbing onto my knee to my chest thinking about what they said. Just as I start feeling better, that's when a foul stench hits my nose. The nasty smell fills the air which only means there are rouge wolfs nearby. I got onto my feet just to see them coming out of the woods baring their teeth. I realize soon that there were too many of them for me to be able to take them on and protect my sister at the same time. Just as I thought there was no way we were going to get out of this, that's when a large black wolf jumps out of the woods as it lands between us and the rouges. Not just any wolf, but it was Brayden wolf. His wolf at sometimes I feel is larger than my fathers.
