Chapter 7

David walked into the town. He loved to roam about Lightwood in the daytime when almost everyone was carried away with their activities.

"The mayor's going to say something about the missing girls," a man said and David slowed to hear.

"We all know they'll be dead by now. Nobody returns after getting missing," the other man replied.

David pushed himself through the crowd until he was finally standing where he would hear everything that the Mayor was saying.

He fixed his eyes on the podium and let out an irritated smug.

The mayor was assuring the crowd that the missing people would be found. And that he had put in special officers to find them.

David grined. "This fucking bastard."

What special officers is he talking about? Did he meant vampires?

"The last time they were seen was at the party two days ago," a voiced echoed from the crowd.

The voice spoke again, "Who knows, they might have been eaten by a wild animal. I heard they were seen walking back home through the woods," he su
