Suddenly, Artemis materialised into the room in all her glory, and I relaxed my stance. She smirked at me and stood there as if waiting for something to happen. I raised my brows at her in question and she frowned at me.
“Well, you don’t want to go off on me for popping up suddenly and scaring you?” she asked. For all intents and purposes, her voice sounded like that of a petulant three-year-old and not of the Goddess she was.
“So I was right. You were deliberately trying to scare me all that time when you popped up unannounced. Weren’t you?” I asked her in an accusing tone.
I watched her face turn red at being caught.
“But why didn’t you react this time? Did you know that I was coming?” she asked, trying to evade my question. But she looked genuinely curious to know the answer.
