Erin’s point of view.
“Please don’t hit me!” My intruder calls out in a very young, immature female voice; I pull the lamp back just in time before pulling the intruder’s hood back to reveal their face. Well, it’s not the Mafia, so I guess that’s one thing less to worry about; it’s not even a scary intruder, just a terrified young girl who stands in tears in front of me.“Please don’t hit me”, she says as she blinks under the bright light,“I’m not going to hit you; you can tell me why the hell you are climbing through my window at this ungodly hour, though, young lady.”She looks to the floor without whispering a word…“Okay, if that’s how you want to play it, Let’s see what the police have to say about this”Even though I have no intention of calling the police just yet, I’m just hoping it will frighten her enough to volunteer some information.“I ran away from home after I argued with my family” “she says,Okay, I’ve been a teenage girl myself; I see where this is coming from, so I sit down on the bed and pat the space next to me, inviting my little guest to take a seat as I say.“I know where you’re coming from, sweetheart, but I’m sure your parents will be very worried about you; it’s not safe for a young girl to be out on the streets at this time.”She sniffs as she wipes away a tear and whispers,“My parents died when I was just a baby. I live with my brother; we live with Liam and Lucy now.”I nod. She must mean they are either her adoptive parents or foster parents. “I’m sure they will still be worried over you, sweetheart. The streets are not safe for a young girl.”I pass her a tissue to dry her eyes as she says, “I guess so.”“Well then, we had better get you home, young lady; my name is Erin. Hopefully, you have a name to go with that pretty face of yours.”She half smiles and mutters, “Leah, my name is Leah.”“See, I knew you would have a pretty name, so Leah, how far away do this Liam and Lucy live from here?”She smiles this time, “It’s a twenty-minute walk; we live on the outskirts of town.”Jesus, that’s a forty-minute walk for me; I wish I had my car right now; I shake that thought away. I would much rather walk than face the Mafia again,I slip my coat on before pulling my shoes from under the bed and slipping my feet inside. The sooner I get this child home, the sooner I can get some bloody sleep. We set off on the walk to this Liam and Lucy’s house; five minutes into the walk and I can’t help but smile as I listen to Leah chatter away; I remember when I used to be so full of life, full of hopes and dreams until one asshole ex-boyfriend almost ruined everything for me. He will not win, though I made the Star Grazer great once I can do it again. I can make it rise from the Ashes.“Do you live in the hotel!” Leah asks“No, just stopping over for a few days while I get my bar fixed up and find a new place to live.”I reply; Leah's eyes go wide. “What happened to your bar?”“Some idiots decided to rearrange it with baseball bats.”She stops walking for a second. “why are some humans so evil?”She makes me giggle with her strange choice of words, and I reply“I don’t know, sweetie, but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed. I will make the Star Gazer great again. Or I will when the mafia decides to move on from my front door.”I didn’t mean to say that last part out loud, but Leah shrugs her shoulders as she carries on walking.Fifteen minutes later and, I find myself walking towards a few scattered houses on the edge of the woods; they are beautiful houses, and to my surprise, I also notice one of these houses is up for sale, and I somehow find myself drawn towards it, I snap a quick pic with my phone, I will call up the estate agent in the morning and ask for a viewing tomorrow. It will take one hell of a chunk out of my savings, though. Hopefully, I will still have enough to get the Star Gazer back on its feet.Fuck Warren, I don’t need his cheating ass anymore! This one is ours, “Leah says as she starts to lead me up a long driveway. They really are beautiful houses; each one has a large driveway and extensive grounds, and it’s so quiet here, not like living in a busy city. I never knew this place was here so close to the town.Leah grabs hold of my hand, her face turning serious as she says,“Can I tell you a secret, Erin?”“Of course, Leah”, I reply as we both stop walking…she turns to me and whispers, “Be careful; I am a werewolf.”Which makes me giggle as I reply, “Don’t be silly, Leah werewolves are not real.”She chuckles as she mutters, “You’ll see.”I laugh kids and their fairytales,Before either of us gets the chance to say anything else, A ridiculously tall figure appears in the glass of the door in front of us. When he opens the door, I swear I almost drool all over myself and him because standing in front of me is the most handsome man that I have ever seen in my life.I chuckle to myself as he looks down at me. Just my luck, Leah’s foster father or adoptive father is spoken for…I’m sure Leah said that her name was Lucy…. Well, Lucy is one fortunate lady getting to share her bed with this hunk of a man every night.I shake my head; after tonight, I should be sworn off men forever! They all think with their Dicks anyway!“He pulls Leah into his arms and whispers, “Leah, thank God you're okay; we have all been so worried about you.”I smile; my job here is done, and it’s very obvious that this man adores this little girl. I turn away and start to walk back down the driveway as I check my watch; I have a date with a bed in roughly twenty minutes.I turn my head to look back as Leah calls out, “Erin.”“Yes, Leah?” I reply as she shouts, “Thank you for bringing me home,”“Yes, thank you, we are so grateful to you”, says ridiculously tall and handsome, in a ridiculously deep, sexy, and extremely panty-melting voice.”Damn, I had better keep walking. Otherwise, I’m going to leave a wet spot on his driveway. I wave my hand over my shoulder as I call out,“You’re welcome…Bye, little wolf.”I quickly turn for one last peep of Mr Handsome before he disappears out of sight, and to my surprise, he seems a little shocked, maybe even a little annoyed, but when he sees me looking, he smiles and waves, shit, I really need to get some sleep. I’m getting delirious now!Raul’s point of view I tuck my gun into my belt as I get ready to head into the woods to search for Leah when Phil, my head security guard, runs into the room slightly out of breath. As he says,“Leah is walking down the driveway now with a woman.”I jump up, heading for the front door, but before I get there, I smell an unusual yet ever-so-familiar scent. It's not the smell of any perfume or incense, and even though myself and Dolph, my wolf, have never net our mate, we know that this is her smell, the smell of the woman whom I was told of all those years ago.My wolf, Dolph, is excited yet anxious at the same time. My mind is running wild with the thoughts of the woman on the other side of the door. This must be a sign from the moon goddess that my little sister, my only true blood relative, has helped me to find my mate. And when I open the door, my god, she is beautiful; her hair falls down her back in long black wavy locks the colour of a raven. She is quite small in height, bu
Erin's point of view It's the second day I've managed to get inside the Star Gazer; it seems the Mafia has moved on. I am a little puzzled, though I thought they would have stuck around for much longer, hoping that Warren would have returned. Maybe they've already found him, and that's why they've left the pub alone. I can't say I feel sorry for him; Karma has a habit of biting hard. Okay, maybe that's a little too extreme. I hope they kick his ass, though, before they leave him in the gutter and chop his little dick off. That will teach him a lesson. I am still heartbroken when I see the mess inside. I have so much to do and not so much savings left to do it with, especially after buying the house, but I need to get the place back on its feet as quickly as possible, and I need to start earning some money. I smile when Leah pops her head around the door, along with a friend, and thankfully a huge and strong male friend, one who can help us to move some of this heavy furniture; she
Erin's point of view A few days later, I got a phone call from Raul; I still hadn't seen him in person. Even Leah tells me he hasn't been around much just lately; I guess he must be busy with his work. My only consolation is that if he's not been home, then he hasn't seen Lucy either; yes, I know what I said. I shouldn't have these feelings for a married man, but still, I don't like the woman. My heart skips a beat when I listen to his deep voice, "Hey Erin, I'm sorry I haven't been around so much lately. I've just been a little preoccupied at work," he says, "It's fine, Raul. I know that you have your own business to run; I don't expect you to be here at the Star Gazer all of the time." He pauses for a second before he says, "How is the Star Gazer doing? I've spoken to Leah, and she tells me you've been very busy?" I smile, "It's been crazy; all of the old customers seem to have drifted back, plus a few new ones. I've never been so busy; I've also had to hire a couple of
Raul's point of view Checking my watch, I know I'm not going to make it back to the Star Gazer in time for my business meeting with one of my subordinates, Mr Harris, and I can't get hold of either Erin or Mr Harris to let them know that I will be further delayed and there's no way I can get out of this transnational meeting, I've tried to send a quick text off to her and Mr Harris, but frustratingly I can get any signal is this building, Which means I also didn't receive one of her many missed calls, "Shit," I mutter under my breath as I check my phone; the notifications have been non-stop since I stepped out of the meeting and outside the building. Thirteen missed calls and four messages. I frown as I read the messages, "What the hell, Raul! I thought you understood the kind of business partner you were in the Stargazer?" "Seriously, you're really not going to answer my calls?" "Who the hell do you think you are?" "I AM NOT FOR SALE." The last one makes me worried; why on
Erin's point of view. It's been over an hour since Raul moved from the door; although he never knocked after I closed it, I was surprised by how long he waited. There's a timid knock on the door, and I sigh as I get up, ready to take a peep through the peephole; I know I need to talk to Raul as we will have to deal with his investment of the Star Gazer at some point, but I'm too mad to deal with him right now, I let out a sigh of relief when I see that's its Leah standing in my doorway and not her brother. I slip the bolt across before opening the door; she gives me a half smile as I ask, "What are you doing here, Leah? It's getting late, and you have school tomorrow." "Please, can I stay here tonight? I had an argument with Raul, and I don't want to go home." "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but you have school, and I can't let you stay here without speaking to your brother first. And to be honest with you, Leah, I do not want to speak to him right now; your brother is not the person I t
Raul's point of view Holy shit, my head hurts, when I finally pry my eyes open, I find myself lying on the floor in the living room, "Oh, he is back in the land of the living", My wolf Dolph mutters angrily. Shit, just how much did I have to drink? "I thought I would be fine with just a couple of glasses," I say to Dolph; he laughs as he replies, "You are such an idiot, Raul. What on earth were you thinking? You know you can't tolerate alcohol the same way others can!" I sigh loudly as I reply, "She seemed so happy when we finally sorted everything out; I didn't like to say no to her." "But you know how it affects us; you're lucky we didn't expose our wolf to her, sneaking home like some thief and without Leah, what must Erin think of us? You find plenty of excuses for refusing to drink with your business partners. Why couldn't you find one for her? "Dolph says "She is our mate, Dolph, one that I cannot say no to." Dolph remains silent; he knows how hard it is to refus
Erin’s point of view I wake up early with a smile on my face. I’m glad I’ve managed to sort things over with Raul. I smile as I head for the shower, my mind wandering to the handsome man who lives next door; oh, did I say, handsome single man that lives next door? I’m certainly not sad about him not being with Lucy. That’s for sure, yeah, he is fine as fuck, and yes, he may not be interested in me, but at least he’s not with her, I just don’t like the woman, and I don’t trust her one little bit. It’s painfully apparent that she is infatuated with him, although I don’t think Raul realises it. After jumping in the shower, I add a bit of natural makeup today before styling my hair in beach waves, leaving it loose down my back. Checking the mirror, I smile back at my reflection, “Looking good, Erin,” I whisper to myself, After grabbing a quick breakfast, I head for the front door, deciding to walk today; it’s the beginning of autumn, my favourite time of the year. I love how the colo
Raul’s point of viewJesus, I wanted to kiss her so much; I’m so scared I’m going to frighten her away; what if she cannot stand the thought of me being a wolf… what if she does not want to be my Luna? She is my mate, and I already adore her, but there is so much that needs to be explained to her first,I’m trying so hard to control myself around her. The attraction I feel for her and the pull she has on me is intensifying by the second. All I want to do is love her, hold her, cherish her, and claim her, but I have to be fair to her. She is human, and as a human, I know it’s going to be a lot for her to take on, and that’s a choice she will have to make when the time is right.I eventually fall into a restless sleep, a restless sleep with dreams of my beautiful mate.……The following morning, after making myself and Leah breakfast, I laugh as I ask her what she wants to eat,“Everything…I’m starving,” she repliesThis means the full works as usual: sausage, bacon, eggs. Beans the wo
