The Lycan Prince

last update publish date: 2026-06-05 22:08:12

I was seeing things from Zareths point of view.

The Ashbourne estate was really quiet when we got there the night

By the time the sun came up all of that peace was gone.

The hallways were filled with servants carrying all sorts of things like boxes and jewelry and clothes.

It was like they were getting ready for a fight instead of a party.

The problem was that this party had royalty coming.

That made everyone really crazy.

Maevyn said to me from across the room "You are just standing there like someone is dead. Can you least pretend to be excited for me?"

I looked up. Tried to smile. "I am excited."

She just said, "You are really bad at lying."

I said, "That is because I am not lying."

Well not completely anyway.

Maevyn looked at me closely before she let out a sigh. "You have been acting weird since yesterday."

That made me get all tense.

Did she notice something was going on with me?

My hand started to  wander off to my neck, itching to feel the mate mark. I stopped it.

The mark that the stranger gave me was still hidden under my clothes and makeup.

I could still feel it all the time.

It was like a secret that was burning my skin.

"I am just tired " I said slowly.

Maevyn just said, "That is what you always say."

One of the maids came in and after bowing she says , "The jeweler is here."

Maevyn made a show of being annoyed. "Another one?"

The maid just smiled, "Your grandfather wants the best for tonight."

The next hour was really slow.

Every minutes another servant would come in with something expensive.

Shoes and jewelry.

It was like marrying into the Lycan family meant you had to have a lot of gold.

I just sat there quietly while the maids worked around us.

I was not really interested in any of it.

My mind kept going to the same scary thought.

What if I saw him again?

It should not have mattered.

I did not even know who he was.

I still felt really uneasy all morning.

Later my grandmother came in with two boxes.

"Turn around " she said to Maevyn.

Maevyn. Our grandmother put a diamond necklace around her neck.

"You look beautiful " she said.

Maevyn just groaned , "You have not even seen my whole dress yet."

My grandmother said, "it’s beautiful now stop being grumpy and have fun…”

It was nice to see them being so sweet to each other.

It made me feel a little sad inside.

My grandmother turned to me. Said, "This one is for you."

I opened the box. Found a really pretty silver necklace with a dark blue stone.

"It is too expensive " I said.

My grandmother just said, "You are my granddaughter. Come I’ll wear it for you..”

I let her put it around my neck.

When the stone touched my skin it was really close to the mark.

I got a little panicked. Adjusted my dress.

Luckily no one noticed.

Later we went to meet  our grandfather who wanted to see us before we left.

We went to his study. Found him standing by the fireplace.

He was wearing formal clothes and looked really serious.

"Sit down " he said.

We. He looked at us for a moment before he spoke.

"What happens tonight is really important " he said.

"It is more important than you know. Whatever Garrick did at Black Hollow Pack had made our family look weak. Tonight could change that.”

Maevyn straightened up in her chair.

"The Lycan royal family does not make alliances easily " our grandfather said. “Do not waste this chance."

The room was quiet for a moment.

Then our grandfather said, "This marriage will make our family strong again. It will fix all that Garrick broke and save our face in the lands… do you understand Mae?”

Maevyn nodded, and smiled but I could tell she was nervous.

After we left our grandfathers study I followed Maevyn back to our rooms.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

She let out a breath and said, "Honestly I think I might get sick."

I laughed a little. She smiled weakly.

She leaned against the wall. Said, "This is all so crazy. Rejected by an alpha one day because I chose my mother , getting mated to a  Lycan Prince the next day…”

I said, "You could still say no. If you don’t want it.”

She just shook her head.

"I know this is sudden " she said. “ I am not sure I want it… but I do know this is something good for us."

I felt really guilty then but I said nothing…I only hoped nothing goes wrong.

That evening we went to the palace of Crescent Veil.

It was more scary than I thought it would be.

The gates were huge. There were guards everywhere.

When we got out of the carriage servants came running up to us.

The entrance hall was filled with nobles in clothes.

There were many powerful wolves there that it made my skin feel weird.

Maevyn asked me "How do I look?"

“I’m pretty sure the moon is envious of you right now.” I said, honesty.

Her green dress was perfect. Her jewelry sparkled.

She looked confident again like she used to before our father hurt us. “I hope he likes me.”

I said, "He would be stupid not to like you."

She smiled a little. I could tell she was nervous.

The banquet hall was huge.

There were elders  and nobles talking quietly.

Royal guards stood along the walls wearing uniforms with the Crescent Veil symbol on them.

Music was playing softly somewhere.

I stayed close to my mother and sister while we met people.

I felt really out of place.

I do not have a wolf. It made me feel different. Then the room got quiet. Everyone looked toward the stairs. Someone important had arrived. I turned to look. My heart stopped. It was him. The stranger, from the club. The man who marked me. He was my sisters mate.

I had a one night stand with the lycan Prince who was now my sister’s mate!

Zareth’s POVNo… I silenced my wolf. He’s not my mate, the Moon Goddess can’t be this cruel.“Everyone, grab a drink!” the butler announced. I grabbed mine. “Long live the King and his bride!” the butler said, and everyone chorused it.—-I was given a room to stay in for the night, a little farther from my sister’s room. It was enormous, and the space itself felt oddly quiet.“Ouch,” I muttered, touching my head. I had drunk a lot last night. There was a knock at my door. “Your Grace, please have a bath and come to the dining hall for breakfast,” the maid said from behind the closed door.“Sure thing,” I replied. After my bath, I tied my dark hair in a ponytail and picked a pink hoodie and joggers to hide the mark.I went off to have my meal. Luckily, I found where they were having breakfast—they were more people than I anticipated.Kaelor, my sister, our supposed sister-in-law, and a lady who looked familiar… wait. Zareth's POV"I need a drink," I blurted out from where I stood with my mom.I need to breathe, this can't be happening, the stranger I fucked at the club is my sister's would be husband.I took a drink from the waiter's hand and gulped it down at once."There you are, Zareth," she examined me. "Are you okay? You looked kind of spooked, and I see you're taking your mind off things again with alcohol." She stared at me. "Yep, you know me." I took another drink and finished it at once. "Hey, easy with the alcohol," Mae advised. I snarled, "What the fuck do you want, Mae?"She looked at me for a second, something flickering across her face before she smoothed it over."You know what, forget it." She turned to leave. "I'll introduce myself.""Mae .... I am so sorry," I went after her and held her hand. "It's your day today, I am sorry for being a jerk," I apologized."That's alright, everyone is tense, even mom hasn't moved from the spot we left her." We both laughed and approached mom to

  • The lycan king’s regret     The Arrangement

Zareth’s POVI awoke with a headache pounding and the dread that something was so, so wrong.I remained motionless under the thick blankets for a few seconds, gazing at the ceiling above me, which I didn't know, and flashes from the previous night came one after another. The club. The private suite. Silver eyes. His hands. The mate mark…I had to sit up quickly and immediately regretted it as pain shot through my body. Every muscle ached. My legs were shaky, and my head was wobbling so much I held on to the edge of the bed to stay upright.“Oh, goddess…”Last night's dress was thrown by my side of the couch and my other clothes were all spread out on the floor, and my face burned instantly.I checked around the suite in a rush. Empty. The stranger had left. There should have been relief after that realization, but there wasn't. Somehow, the silence made everything worse.I carefully got out of bed, not thinking about the disorganized recollections in my mind. His deep voice in my ear.

  • The lycan king’s regret     A SWEET MISTAKE

Zareth’s POV My jaw clenched. Stripper. This man thinks I am a stripper.I should have been angry, I should have turned around and staggered back into the hallway. But I was too drunk, too empty, too tired of being good. My father's voice rang in my ears: burden, disappointment, worthless. If he didn't want me, he'd give him a good reason not to want me. This was a stranger who didn't know me. He didn’t know anything. And now, I didn't give a shit what he said.“Sorry,” I slurred, stepping forward and on cue, he played the music. I made it to the middle of the room, between him and a glass table with empty bottles all around. I backed away from him, put my hands on my thighs and slowly ground my hips. The motion felt good—raw and freeing. I leaned forward with my tank top up, showing off my lower back. I didn't need any music. I needed to get some movement.I spun around, wobbling slightly. He stood up, crossed the distance between us, unnoticed. Fuck, he was tall.“This the best y

Zareth’s POV“Tonight,” my father, Alpha Garrick, said in his deep voice, “I am going to discuss a matter that should have been discussed years ago.”The room was in chaos. Some of the elders looked at each other.I felt my mother getting tense next to me.Garrick slowly got down the platform, his heavy boots making a loud noise as he made his way down until he came to a stop directly in front of us. He had no smile in his eyes. No hesitation.Only disgust.“For years,” he said coldly, “this pack has seen my bloodline falter, and my house is the laughingstock of other territories. Some wolves looked down unpleasantly. No one interfered with his work.“My Luna didn't give me a son,” he said gruffly. Rather, she made my house a place of weakness.”My chest constricted and I felt it.Maevyn jumped up from her seat instantly. “Father—”“Go away,” Garrick snapped without even looking at her.He was so abrupt in his tone that he shook the quiet again in the room.I clenched my fists on my s
