Hearing Adriana's theory brought up the uncomfortable feeling of rage and annoyance. I didn't know which one was worse, the fact that he lied or the fact that I had a foreign entity whose origins I couldn't trace but regardless of the reason, I knew that person was a security risk.

Standing up to go look for that guy, I got stopped by Adriana.

“No, wait?” She said, holding my arms. “You just can't go out guns blazing to catch that guy.” She said.

“And why not?” I asked with barely concealed rage.

“Because we do not know the reason that guy is here or why he lied.” She replied.

“We will know that when I grab his sorry ass.” I said in annoyance.

“I know that.” Adriana said. “But I also know that he might not be working alone so if you go there in an attempt to apprehend him, the slaves might see it as a form of intimidation and might react badly.” She said.
