I stood under the shower, drops of water laced my body silently, splashed noisily on the white tiles. I was lost staring at the wall, stood gloriously naked, my fingernails poking deep into my palms as I thought deeply to myself,

Have I done the wrong thing?

'Yes you have. You have done the most stupid thing only a human could think of, Ria. How could you accept to be his girlfriend? What will your daughter think when she hears the news that that man is now your lover? You know she is going to hate you for it.'

I don't have any clue of the voice speaking in my head, but she is right. How will Dianne feel if she finds out Edgar is now my boyfriend and not Dante whom she likes.

I liked Edgar of course - only because he is my only friend and boss. He had proposed so many times to me, showed his love to me in many ways, but I had said NO several times because I was afraid of being left behind or betrayed like Dante did to me. I was scared.
