登入Sarah POV
“Why were you following me around like a lost puppy” My breath hitched. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. I was meant to approach him… not get caught by him. I turned back, my breath caught in my throat. He was close… way too close, that I could almost feel his breath. He smelled nice, a mixture of wood and cherry flavor. But I had no time to admire that. His dark eyes locked onto me, watching my every move. I gulped and I swore I saw his eyes, something strange flashes through his eyes in a spark something called desire. “H-hello, I felt we were on a bad foot yesterday, my name is Sarah Cole” I stretch my hand out, for a hand shake. If I want to get close to him, at least I have to be in his good book. He stared at me, his eyes never leaving me. My hand is still out, stretched. Waiting for him. “What do you want?” Those were the four words he responded to. Nothing more, his eyes locked waiting to catch any flaw in me. “I just want…” “What do you want?” He asked again. This time he gave me no room. He wants answers, his eyes dares me to lie. I was going to go all out now. I swallowed, gathering courage. He “Adrian… I think we’re—” “Don’t.”His voice sliced through mine. Making me freeze. His eyes still lock on mine, cold, empty, and unreadable.“Whatever fantasy you’ve built in that head of yours,” he stepped closer, his presence suffocating, “erase it.” My chest tightened. “It’s not a fantasy. I can feel__” “I don’t care what you feel.” There was Silence,my heart beating frantically “You’re nothing to me.” These words shattered something within me. My heart felt heavy, my body was light. He moved his eyes away from me “don't have any weird idea there” he moved to go, and I just stood clumsy “You said, you will remember” He stopped in his tracks. Not looking back I continued “ When I saved you, you said you will remember. What did you mean?” “As long as you are in this school. You are under my protection, no ones dare lay a finger on you” He answered “Then can I stay beside you, under your protection?” Adrian tilted his head to the other side, but didn't utter any word, and left like he never came. The hallway suddenly became too quiet. I forced a smile, a fake one. The kind that stretches your lips but never reaches your eyes. “I’m fine,” I whispered to myself. Even though I wasn’t. My chest hurts. Why did it hurt so much? I barely knew him. So why did it feel like I had lost something important? Something I never even had? I exhaled shakily and forced my feet to move. One step. Then another. If I stopped… I might break for real. Adrian POV I swiftly jumped into the woods, shading my skin, I transformed into my wolf, one big black wolf. I ran through the woods, plants smashing upon my claws. I raced towards the end of the woods. But was there an end? My heart was in turmoil. I hated the fact that I felt this way. I hated the fact that she stirred something within me. What came over me when I promised to protect her? My large black wolf tore through the forest, faster, stronger, free. But not free enough. Because she was still there. In my head. In my senses. In my blood. My claws dug into the earth as I pushed harder, faster, like I could outrun it. Outrun her. Outrun the truth. Mate. The word echoed in my mind. Low and Certain and Possessive. My wolf. I snarled, stopping to a halt. “No.” She’s not. She can’t be. Out of everyone— It had to be me? My chest heaved as I paced, restless energy surging through me. The way she looked at me… The way she said she could feel it… My claws dug deeper into the ground. If I accept this— Everything changes, everything that I have grown up believing changes Everything will fall apart. And I don’t get that luxury. I don’t need a mate. Not her. Not anyone. My wolf growled in disagreement. Mine. “Shut up.” I snapped back, baring my teeth at nothing. Because that’s what this was. But then— Her voice echoed again. “Then can I stay beside you… under your protection?” My body went still. Danger. That’s what she was. Not to others. To me. Because if she stayed close— If she kept looking at me like that— I might not be able to push her away again. And if that happens… My eyes darkened, I bared my teeth. She won’t survive what comes next.Sure enough. B class came out 2nd. And Anthony and Kate, who was currently in D class, came out first. Adrian didn't put this to mind. Because there wasn't anything special about those rewards. He only gave Sarah a nod when he saw her coming out, as he walked away. Sarah looked at the retreating figure walking away. Although she took second, she wasn't happy with that. Who would have thought her sister and her teammate were too good. Only God knew how difficult she had managed to secure the second position. Countless students came around to congratulate her. Which made her feel uncomfortable. Before they had been mean to her, because she almost exposed their identities. But now seeing how they try to get in her good book just made her feel warily. And she knew most of this had to do with Adrian's influence. But what she didn't understand was. Why? Why did he have to always protect her, even when he rejected her? Was it because she saved him?Although zero injured him. But she
“Oi oi. Calm down tiger, don't go pouncing on me” Edward chuckled slowly. Although he was sure he wasn't Adrian's match. But as a fox demon. He had the ability to detect one's emotions. And he was 80% sure that Adrian won't attack him, or put it to heart. Although that 20% was that Adrian has never followed the rules. Always acting the way he wishes. But regardless, he bet everything on that 80%. Sure enough, Adrian looked the other way, and walked off. To him Edward wasn't any threat to him. What if he knew? He wasn't scared. What if he tells anyone? He wouldn't care. But he was sure that the cunning fox wouldn't go around spitting things about him. Adrian took a swing of his cigarette before butting it down with his boot heel. He lazily looked at what the councils were doing. To him, they were performing. And he was getting sick watching them. If they really wanted to showcase their powers, then they could have easily done that after all this was done. What was the need for thi
All eyes stared at Sarah, making her feel uncomfortable. She swiftly moved away from Adrian. This in turn made him frown in displeasure, but he kept mute observing the situation. Laura and the councils turned away. But one could see the exact shock on their faces. Especially the woman who was part of the councils. Her stare for some reason caught Adrian attention. He noticed that she had given him that deep look when he first arrived at the airport with Sarah. The councils gathered around forming a small circle. Right now they are the strongest right now. The man suddenly leapt into the air, transforming into a large black eagle. The eagle flew high through the dark skies, its wings slicing through the cold air. The clouds slowly turned black as thunder rumbled above. Then it let out a loud, terrifying scream that echoed through the heavens. As it opened its beak, fire burst out in a fierce blaze, lighting up the dark clouds while the mighty eagle continued soaring through the cloud
The luxurious bus took the students to the school airport, where they would board a paratrooper that would take them directly to their destination. Adrian saw Laura waiting for them. She wore a thick black jacket, and Jeans, with a black Boot to go. Her hair is tired pony tail, which brought out her beauty and youthful age. Any one who saw her would think she was at her prime. Adrian noticed the presence of three more people, which Mr Johnson being among them. The look on his eyes passed a message to Adrian that he had forgotten about the last grievances caused to him. This made Adrian understood that he had climb over the wall. The other two was a man in his late forties and a woman. This were the councils sent to oversee the tournament. The woman looked at Adrian for a second before changing focus on Sarah who stood beside Adrian. This made everyone feel surprise. No one has ever gotten nearer to Adrian talk less of standing besides him. “Alright let's begin, you can come over
“How's she?” A hooded figure covered in black. Looked at Mia who laid on the bed covered in bandage around her chest area. This hooded figure was the one who helped Mia the last time. “She's fine for now. The sword was targeted to kill her” The Mia maid explained. “Two in a roll. First was Adrian, and second is someone we don't know anything about. And this is very dangerous.” The mystery figure thought loudly. “Do you think she was targeted because they found out about her?” “Don't say that. Although I can't overrule that. I will definitely keep my eyes on the academy councils. I am sure if what you are saying is true then that person would try to report the matter, in other he can receive great benefit. And that's our clue to catch him or her. But before that I will be on my way” The mysterious figure looked at Mia. “If she wakes up. Tell her, her father is angry and scared for her. Although she's bent on fulfilling her duty to him. He is more worried for her. And his best wish
“Mi lady! What's going on? What happened to you? Why are you bleeding?” A maid cried as she ran to Mia who laid on the cold floor bleeding from her chest. That strike was lethal and deadly. Because zero wanted to end her life at that point, so he planned on giving her a strike that would end her in a bit. But she still managed to escape regardless, all thanks to her fathers talisman. And since one of them got broken. That means her talisman remained one, and after she used it, she would be hopeless. With no sought of protection talisman again. Mia honestly thought that the protection talisman was to defend against Adrian. In the upcoming confrontation. She could already feel the mark reacting strongly. That means they were going to have a confrontation between each other.. But now they were someone else. That person was deadly. The next dayIn the academy. The school is filled up with people, students walking towards the podium. Many were eager, while some detested competition like
(Due to some confusion with the characters. I thought about changing the name of Kate. Which is Sarah's friend, to Mason, which is originally her family name. This is to avoid mistakes while my readers are going through my books. But the name will only be changed when Kate is with Kate Cole ( Sarah
Adrian held Sarah’s hand as space folded around them. The world twisted. For a moment Sarah felt weightless, like her body was being pulled apart and stitched back together at the same time. The air changed instantly. Cold. Heavy. And the smell— Blood. Sarah’s eyes widened the moment the sce
Mr Johnson watched as Adrian dealt with his pressure with ease, and he felt shocked. He was much higher in power skills and combat power than Adrian. But the fact that Adrian countered it made him feel shut out of words. When he first arrived in this academy. He heard a lot of stories about Adrian
Sarah came back to the Hall. The same Hall every class B was told to wait. Arriving outside she could clearly hear noises from outside. No instructors were here yet. Adrian looked at her for a split second before turning away, and walking off. While Sarah looked on at the departing Adrian as a wav
