LOGINSarah POV
“You look worse, are you alright?” Kate stopped me just as I reached the door of my class room. Looking at me with concern on her face, I suddenly had the urge to cry. I don't know why this hurts so badly. Adrian's rejection really dealt a kind of blow to me. And my wolf raged with fury and at the same time felt hurt. No this is not right. I am not supposed to cry for him, I know what's at stake. I must control myself and my wolf, I'm definitely dealing with something more than what I thought I bargained for. “Sarah, are you alright?” Kate called out again, shaking my hands, drawing me back. “Gosh, you seem spaced out. Come in, lecture is about starting” Kate literally dragged me in. Over there, I saw most of my new classmates, majority were humans. I felt eyes on me, which I obviously ignored, but a certain eye caught my attention. A light brown eye seems normal for humans but if looked closely, using my spiritual eye, the whole eyes were covered with red. A demon It looked normal as demons were almost common in this world. But something looked weird about her, about her gaze. Kate noticed my gaze before whispering in my ears. “She's also new. Just like you, she resumed yesterday.” Kate whispers to me,she tends to tell me things I don't know about. “But for some reason, I don't like her” Her next word shocked me. Kate, although I had just spent some little time with her, I have been able to understand her. She is someone with a clear heart, and a clear conscience. Some one like her would hardly have any haters. “Why do you say that?” I asked Kate, as we both went to our seats. I sat in front of her. While she was at my back. “She gives me this kind of creep, almost like Adrian, but hers is something. I just can't pinpoint it” I caught my breath, is she some strong demon? No wonder she felt weird to me. I just hoped I wouldn't become enemies with her. Right now I must focus on my mission at hand. Getting close to Adrian is more important now, I just hoped his silent answer meant yes. The remaining morning was spent doing chemistry and English. During the lunch break, I went out with Kate. During the course of today. Kate had been so helpful. She helped me a lot. We settled our lunch on a spare table, after waiting for like five minutes for the previous occupants. “What about your sister? Would she be joining us today?” Kate asked me, and to be honest that came as a surprise. I remembered Kate saying she was a big fan of my sister. What quality does my sister have apart from her stormy expression? “I have no idea.” My eyes scanned the cafeteria, looking for someone, waiting for someone. “Are you okay? Are you expecting someone?” Kate noticed. “Nothing, I'm fine” I lean in on my food. While I low my voice. “Does he come in here everytime?” “Who?” “Adrian” “Never. This is the one place Adrian has never visited.” “Oh” I sip my milkshake, trying to formulate my next plan, getting close to Adrian was definitely going to be tricky. Way more tricky than you know. “Oh my goodness! It's Kate!” This was the next line I heard. Turning my back, the whole students had rushed towards the door. Kate? “Your sister is here, hurry, let's go and meet her” Kate ran up to join the crowd. Curiosity got the better of me as I joined in. What I saw next nearly took my breath away. Kate, her three escorts, with the vampires and demons. Where just passing through. But the real problem lies in the fact that my sister was smiling. Like she was literally smiling. Even her escorts blend in, acting like her friends. It was only that demon guy (the tree killer. I noticed the name, tree killer sounded kinda off. So I decided to just use the word demon) John, with his bad boy expression, made the girl's heart beat. That they screamed frantically. His eyes actively move around till it settles on me, winking at me or should I say the girls besides me. That I almost covered my eardrum. Those eyes were different, Adrian looked calm and lazy, almost as if he was tired of worldly affairs. But one look was enough to pull you in. While John just has this bad boy look, don't underestimate him. That look can make an entire team of girls fall. While zero, the demon. Having this cold face expression like Adrian. But Adrian looks more natural. His godly handsomeness matches his cold expression. But zero just kinda looks more like this nonchalant kinda guy. My sister must be really famous for people to know her to this extent. My sister and her groups were just passing by. I made a mental note to ask her about this famous thing. With the thought of going in to finish my meal. I felt it. That stare. Like an extra eye was watching me, making my body cold, my wolf growl slowly threatening to emerge. That eye was gone the next moment it came. Who was that! Not having the urge to continue eating. I honestly need to tame my wolf. Unless I won't be able to protect myself, because once my wolf comes out. The chances of me returning to normal was zero. That means it would be the reverse state, My wolf taking over my body. So I need to get into the woods and practice. But my chance of me leaving now will draw Kate suspicious, which I don't want, now. Kate asked for my reason for wanting to leave and I just answered her question by telling her I was full. While walking out, Kate went on and on telling me how my sister was so cool, controlling two of the most handsome male in the school, this caught my attention. I asked her if there was anyone much more handsome than them. “There are actually five. That their handsomeness can rival gods.” Kate started, speaking like a teacher, about to lecture her students. “From number 5 we have zero, the nonchalant guy with your sister. And our number 4 we have Jason, but there are rumors that he is gay. And number 3 goes to John, every girl's dream guy. And number 2 is Anthony, you will probably meet him one day, he's known for being mysterious. And for our number one, although I hate to say this, we give it Adrian. But you must have noticed him the other day. Even with his attitude, no one can ignore how handsome he is.” Kate listed them down. Knowing this, I went on thinking about how I could tame my wolf. Father told me, it was something I had to learn on my own. Because that's what makes the connection between me and my wolf stronger. “This is weird, why is Adrian here?”Kate drew my attention. I looked over at where she was looking, and I saw Adrian. Walking into the cafeteria. His expression was cold as usual, but his eyes betrayed him as it searched around his surroundings, till it fell on me, I could swear I saw his expression shifts, before turning more cold. He walks towards the cafeteria. The chef in charge trembles as Adrian brings his plate forward. The chef hurriedly poured the best of the best. Adrian silently went out. Carrying his food to where Kate and I were eating previously. Seeing this I had the urge to go meet him. But I stopped eventually, meeting him now wasn't really the best idea. I shouldn't’t be here, every instinct screamed at me to leave. To turn around and walk out of the cafeteria like nothing had happened. But my feet wouldn’t move. Adrian sat alone at the table Kate and I had just left. Calm and Composed. And yet. My wolf stirred. Not gently this time. A low, dangerous growl echoed in my chest, spreading like wildfire through my veins. My fingers curled slightly, nails pressing into my palm as I tried to ground myself. Not now… I took a step back. Then another. But the moment Adrian lifted his head, Everything snapped. Our eyes met. And it felt like something inside me broke loose. A sharp gasp escaped my lips as heat surged through my body. My vision flickered. Normal… then red… then normal again. No. No, no, no “Sarah?” Kate’s voice sounded distant. Too distant to me. My wolf wasn’t listening anymore. It was pushing, what I thought about was happening. It was rejecting me. “I’m fine…” I muttered, though my voice didn’t sound like mine. It came out rough… edged with something wild. The air grew thick. Heavy. I could hear it Heartbeats.Dozens of them. Too loud. And Too close. “Sarah, your eyes—” “I said I’m fine!” I snapped, louder this time around. All Heads turned, demons, humans, vampires and wolfs. Damn it. I staggered back slightly, gripping the edge of a nearby table. My breathing came out uneven, sharp. My chest rising and falling too fast. Control it. My Father’s voice echoed in my head. Control it, or it will control you. That was what he said the time he watched me trying to tame my wolf. But how was I supposed to control something that was already slipping? A sudden chill ran down my spine. That feeling again. I turned sharply. And there she was. The demon girl from my class, Standing across the room. Watching me. No… not just watching She was Smiling. A slow, knowing smile, Like she could see it. My wolf went still for half a second, Then It roared. A surge of energy burst through me, violent and sudden. My grip tightened on the table until I heard the wood crack slightly beneath my fingers. Shit. “Sarah, you’re scaring me—” “Stay back.” My voice dropped low. A warning, not to Kate, but to everyone. Because I could feel it now, that edge. That thin, dangerous line between control… and losing myself completely. And I was slipping. “Enough.” A voice cut through the chaos. Cold and Sharp. Everything in me froze. I didn’t need to turn around to know it was Adrian. The air shifted the moment he stepped closer. The noise in my head dulled—just slightly—but enough for me to breathe again. “Look at me.” I shook my head immediately. “No…” If I did,I didn’t know what would happen. “Sarah.” My name. The way he said it— Low but firm with something underlying My wolf reacted instantly. But not with anger this time. But with something far more dangerous. Submission. My breath hitched. Slowly… against my better judgment… I lifted my gaze. His eyes were locked on mine. Dark and intense. And for the first time, There was no indifference in them. Only focus. “What are you?” he asked quietly. The question sent a chill through me. Because I didn’t have an answer anymore. Was I a wolf or still human. “I…” My voice trembled. Behind him, I saw her again, The demon girl. Still watching and smiling. Like she was enjoying every second of this. My control slipped. My eyes flashed red. A low growl escaped my throat. And this time. Adrian didn’t step back. He stepped closer.Sure enough. B class came out 2nd. And Anthony and Kate, who was currently in D class, came out first. Adrian didn't put this to mind. Because there wasn't anything special about those rewards. He only gave Sarah a nod when he saw her coming out, as he walked away. Sarah looked at the retreating figure walking away. Although she took second, she wasn't happy with that. Who would have thought her sister and her teammate were too good. Only God knew how difficult she had managed to secure the second position. Countless students came around to congratulate her. Which made her feel uncomfortable. Before they had been mean to her, because she almost exposed their identities. But now seeing how they try to get in her good book just made her feel warily. And she knew most of this had to do with Adrian's influence. But what she didn't understand was. Why? Why did he have to always protect her, even when he rejected her? Was it because she saved him?Although zero injured him. But she
“Oi oi. Calm down tiger, don't go pouncing on me” Edward chuckled slowly. Although he was sure he wasn't Adrian's match. But as a fox demon. He had the ability to detect one's emotions. And he was 80% sure that Adrian won't attack him, or put it to heart. Although that 20% was that Adrian has never followed the rules. Always acting the way he wishes. But regardless, he bet everything on that 80%. Sure enough, Adrian looked the other way, and walked off. To him Edward wasn't any threat to him. What if he knew? He wasn't scared. What if he tells anyone? He wouldn't care. But he was sure that the cunning fox wouldn't go around spitting things about him. Adrian took a swing of his cigarette before butting it down with his boot heel. He lazily looked at what the councils were doing. To him, they were performing. And he was getting sick watching them. If they really wanted to showcase their powers, then they could have easily done that after all this was done. What was the need for thi
All eyes stared at Sarah, making her feel uncomfortable. She swiftly moved away from Adrian. This in turn made him frown in displeasure, but he kept mute observing the situation. Laura and the councils turned away. But one could see the exact shock on their faces. Especially the woman who was part of the councils. Her stare for some reason caught Adrian attention. He noticed that she had given him that deep look when he first arrived at the airport with Sarah. The councils gathered around forming a small circle. Right now they are the strongest right now. The man suddenly leapt into the air, transforming into a large black eagle. The eagle flew high through the dark skies, its wings slicing through the cold air. The clouds slowly turned black as thunder rumbled above. Then it let out a loud, terrifying scream that echoed through the heavens. As it opened its beak, fire burst out in a fierce blaze, lighting up the dark clouds while the mighty eagle continued soaring through the cloud
The luxurious bus took the students to the school airport, where they would board a paratrooper that would take them directly to their destination. Adrian saw Laura waiting for them. She wore a thick black jacket, and Jeans, with a black Boot to go. Her hair is tired pony tail, which brought out her beauty and youthful age. Any one who saw her would think she was at her prime. Adrian noticed the presence of three more people, which Mr Johnson being among them. The look on his eyes passed a message to Adrian that he had forgotten about the last grievances caused to him. This made Adrian understood that he had climb over the wall. The other two was a man in his late forties and a woman. This were the councils sent to oversee the tournament. The woman looked at Adrian for a second before changing focus on Sarah who stood beside Adrian. This made everyone feel surprise. No one has ever gotten nearer to Adrian talk less of standing besides him. “Alright let's begin, you can come over
“How's she?” A hooded figure covered in black. Looked at Mia who laid on the bed covered in bandage around her chest area. This hooded figure was the one who helped Mia the last time. “She's fine for now. The sword was targeted to kill her” The Mia maid explained. “Two in a roll. First was Adrian, and second is someone we don't know anything about. And this is very dangerous.” The mystery figure thought loudly. “Do you think she was targeted because they found out about her?” “Don't say that. Although I can't overrule that. I will definitely keep my eyes on the academy councils. I am sure if what you are saying is true then that person would try to report the matter, in other he can receive great benefit. And that's our clue to catch him or her. But before that I will be on my way” The mysterious figure looked at Mia. “If she wakes up. Tell her, her father is angry and scared for her. Although she's bent on fulfilling her duty to him. He is more worried for her. And his best wish
“Mi lady! What's going on? What happened to you? Why are you bleeding?” A maid cried as she ran to Mia who laid on the cold floor bleeding from her chest. That strike was lethal and deadly. Because zero wanted to end her life at that point, so he planned on giving her a strike that would end her in a bit. But she still managed to escape regardless, all thanks to her fathers talisman. And since one of them got broken. That means her talisman remained one, and after she used it, she would be hopeless. With no sought of protection talisman again. Mia honestly thought that the protection talisman was to defend against Adrian. In the upcoming confrontation. She could already feel the mark reacting strongly. That means they were going to have a confrontation between each other.. But now they were someone else. That person was deadly. The next dayIn the academy. The school is filled up with people, students walking towards the podium. Many were eager, while some detested competition like
Mia panicked slightly, but that was all. With a gentle move, her hand swiveled around the sword. No matter how fast the sword was, it was supposed to cut through Mia. But the techniques Mia applied caused the sword to greatly slow down. Then with her other hand, she gently wiped the sword away cau
Kate watches as her sister walks away looking sad and at loss. She felt terribly sorry for lying to her. But everything was for the best. She hardened her heart. Not wanting to feel any emotions. “What if she finds out that all this was a lie?” John walked forward to where Kate stood. He took out
“Bro! Over here!” Adrian looked over at the source of the voice as he stood Jason walking towards him. He was wearing a hat to cover his face, but Adrian saw through it, and recognized him immediately. Seeing he was far away from him and seeing the distance between them, Adrian walked away not carin
