31. Two Kings, One Girl

Sure enough. B class came out 2nd. And Anthony and Kate, who was currently in D class, came out first. Adrian didn't put this to mind. Because there wasn't anything special about those rewards. 

He only gave Sarah a nod when he saw her coming out, as he walked away. 

Sarah looked at the retreating figure walking away. Although she took second, she wasn't happy with that. Who would have thought her sister and her teammate were too good. Only God knew how difficult she had managed to secure the second position. 

Countless students came around to congratulate her. Which made her feel uncomfortable. Before they had been mean to her, because she almost exposed their identities. But now seeing how they try to get in her good book just made her feel warily. 

And she knew most of this had to do with Adrian's influence. 

But what she didn't understand was. 

Why? 

Why did he have to always protect her, even when he rejected her? 

Was it because she saved him?

Although zero injured him. But she was confident that the injury wasn't enough to kill him. Even how zero hates Adrian, he wouldn't dare have the thought of killing him. 

To her Adrian was a prince, a one in a million genius. The Peterson family won't take it, especially when it was done in their domain. And to sum it off, a genius at that matter. 

She could only sigh leaving those thoughts behind… She knew love wasn't in Adrian's book. And she didn't want to think about that, when she remembered her mission,and what she had to do.  She feels a heavy load weighing upon her. 

A figure entered her line of sight. He was extremely handsome, his expression didn't have that arrogant look, just calm and void of any emotions.  Sarah was extremely shocked because this person happened to walk up to her. Without further introduction she already knew who he was. Mason had mentioned him before, he was no other than Anthony. The winner of today's tournament. 

“Congrats for taking  second place” He said with a small smile. Bringing out his fair slim hand. 

Sarah blinked, mesmerised by how handsome he was. 

“Thanks” Sarah breathed out as she held his fair pale hand. “Congrats to you for winning”

The surroundings immediately erupted. Whispers, she could hear them clearly. Some were surprised that she was able to make Adrian acknowledge her and then now make Anthony acknowledge her too. Some said she had skills. Different whispers were drifting through her ears. And this truly made her uncomfortable. Although she didn't mind what they were saying. But she truly didn't love staying in the limelight.

“All credit goes to Adrian. If you don't mind, let me buy you a meal to celebrate your win.” Anthony followed immediately. And this got Sarah momentarily confused, that She was speechless for a while. 

She wasn't expecting anyone to speak to her, much less Anthony. 

“Me?”

“Surprise?” Anthony's calm eyes held her gaze, making her blush a little. 

“I wasn't expecting that” Sarah looked at any other places but apart from him. 

Anthony seeing her hesitation didn't give her any room “alright I will take my leave. See you later”  Anthony walks off, taking with him a portion of the students. 

“What a strange fellow” Sarah thought, watching Anthony and his team leave. Soon after the students began to find their way to where they will be taken, to the academy. 

Following class B, Sarah went to where a flying jet stood down waiting for them. At the entrance Adrian stood with a cigar in his lips. His eyes held hers. Which was for some reason uncomfortable for Sarah. 

“Have your fun already?” A voice tore in her head. The voice was cold. Making Sarah realize that something was off. Right now she doesn't know how to reply. She felt no matter how she answered, she was still going to  get into trouble. 

With nothing left to do, she could only hold the tiger by his tail. 

She held his palm, and immediately she felt the difference. Although his hands were thin and pale. But his palms were strong, and cool. Different from Anthony, who's palm was only soft. 

“Are you alright?” Sarah whispers to him.

Adrian's expression was emotionless, but his gaze softened a little. Pulling out his hand, and throwing away the newly lighted cigarettes.

“Get in” his voice sounded cold, but they weren't filled with malice as before.
