Chapter 3

Rebecca wanted so much to leave the house, she couldn't stand her mother always pestering her, and making her feel she was cursed not to be married at thirty, it wasn't as though she was the only one that wasnt married, she tried to make her understand many times that she just needed time and also to find the right person, her mother made it even more difficult for her by inviting different spiritualist to the house, she thought it was time to leave her mother alone and get her own apartment, just that her father died at a very early age and her mother didn't remarry not because people were not coming, but because she wanted to be there for her child and train her without anybody's interference.

"Mother I have found a place, I will be moving very soon"

Her mother could tell at that instant that she was running away from her, she was worried for her daughter, she had not even a boyfriend, she blamed it on the fact that all her friends weren't married, she blamed it on her job, she blamed her singleness on everything around her, she even blamed her gay friend Josh, saying people would think she was dating Josh and that was why they were not coming for her, but Rebecca knew better, she couldn't tell her mother that Josh was gay and was therefore not interested in women, telling her a thing like that would make her think more about calling the spiritualist on her.

"Where do you think you want to leave to, I am your mother, you cannot just abandoned me here?

I promise to visit you everyweekens mother'

She didn't want to start an argument with her but she was sure her mother would not let her leave in peace, she was going to have to fight her way through but she just needed to start calmly.

" Mother, if I must find a man to marry me, I need to leave this house, I am an adult mother, you don't expect me to live with you for ever?

Marriage was the only thing she could use to get her mother, she watched as her mother thought deep about what she just said and she felt she had won the battle until she heard her voice again.

"But men would think you are promiscuous, living alone all by yourself, people will misunderstand you.

"Mother, when the right man comes he would know that I am a single photographer, who knows what she is doing, I am not going to be a liability to him and I would not be a burden to him, he would know that though I live alone I am still as modest,.

Her mother wasn't convinced at all but she had no choice, she just had to let her go.

Rebecca didn't have anywhere to go to, she hadn't even planned it yet, money wasn't a problem to her but she needed a plan, she needed to stay far away where herkther couldn't reach her easilly, but she would need her friend Josh he was a planner and they work together mostly, it was only on few occasions that they don't have a combinedwork, they work together and was planning a collaboration whereby as he plans for your event he would have only her as his photographer, so if he was contracted to handle a project, it automatically means that she had also been contacted and when they come directly to her, it also means that he has been contracted, that way they could make more money together.

Her mother watched her as she began packing her things, she wish she could stop her but it was going to be a waste of time, her mind was made up and she wasn't going to allow her change it, she seemed resolved, she packed in silent not wanting to meet her mother's eye but whenever she would meet her eyes she would just let out a smile to show she was happy to leave but deep down within her she didn't want to leave because she didn't have a plan but she just have to take this as a step. She planned on staying at a hotel till she learned her head.
