“What is it?” Orion asked.

“I don't really know, but this is unlike Rune…” Akira said as she pulled Orion aside.

“What do you mean?”

“Can you not see he's being all weird and strange when I talk about mirabel?”

Orion gave it a deep thought.

From his past experience with Rune,he knew for a fact that he was never cool with Mirabel.

If there was anything, he hated her and his most common excuse was that she hated the way she made his nose twitch.

“You might be right about that?” Orion said.

“What's the secret meeting about?” Rune yelled from behind them, “and why am I not a part of it?”

“Umm….” Akira said, short of excuses.

“It's a human thing, you would not understand?” Orion said his shoulders pulled up Into a shrug.

Akira rolled her eyes and mouthed, “human thing? Really?”

“Well hurry” Rune answered.

“We had better do something about this and we have to do it fast, this is not like him.” Orion continued.

“Well, we need to know how she was able to do this to him, there's a high chance that we can counter it if we know the source of this problem.” Akira Said.

“magic!” Orion said..

Akira would normally go on to argue this, but she was already in too deep to doubt the existence of magic.

She was talking to a thousand year old werewolf or something like that, why. Would there not be magic?

“Well I am tired of being kept in the dark!” Rune muttered as he swung the door open.

“So are we going to talk about how Akira is delusional?”

They both turned to look at each other, Akira and rune, at least this proves their point.

“Let's get out of here…” Orion urged, “I never believed that I would advise anyone to stay away from books in my entire lifetime.”

“Good, you tell her Orion, it's all these books, they are causing her to point fingers at everyone she sees.”

“Rune!” Akira yelled, “do not be like that!”

“Eh hem!” Orion cleared his throat, breaking the brewing confrontation, “I think Rune should go to his room while you come with me Akira.”

“Fine!” Rune said as he walked further away from them, “I've wasted the time for my morning run on nothing anyway!”

“He is really pissed..” Orion said, kissing his teeth.

“I know right?” Akira replied, “we just need to hurry and figure it out.”

“But regardless of how odd it might be, I strongly believe that Rune had a hand in all that,” he said.

“How did you figure out that Mirabel is a strigoi?” Rune asked.

Akira sighed, “you might find this to be unethical…but I want to remind you that I am only human and I had to do what I had to do…”

Orion chuckled, after all that was a universal excuse amongst her kind and he found it funny that she used it to his face.

“Fine,I understand you, now I need youth eb honest and out with it, how did you figure it out?”

Akira sighed, “Come with me, I'll show you” she said as she pulled him back into the library.

Akira could not stand being far away from Kai and she was even more surprised that Kai had not come looking for her.

Yes, she had been doing a lot of digging since the day she discovered the library and they had a lot to say about the mate bond;in several languages.

“Hello?” She whispered as she opened the door of the master bedroom. They might have kicked her out but she still had a spare key.

Her voice echoed back at her, a sign that the room was truly gigantic and that there was no one else in the room.

“Perfect!” She muttered as she shut the door quietly behind her and walked towards the wardrobe.

There was something about Mirabel that did not sit right with her, her story was unbelievable.

She once thought that it was normal for Lycans to return back from the dead but the reactions to Mirabel's resurrection from the land of the dead disposed of that theory.

“We might not be able to come back from the dead, but we are very hard to kill, perhaps she is one of those tough nuts to crack” was all Rune had to say when she spoke to him.

Akira rummaged through Kai's wardrobe but was disappointed to find nothing out of the ordinary.

“Heck!” She cursed as she walked to the other side of the room, towards the dresser In hopes of finding something there too.

Mirabel might have filled those wolves, but there is no way in hell she was going to do the same to her.

She opened the dresser and found nothing except makeup.

A lot of it.

“Of course she would need that much to hide her hideous face..” She said,rolling her eyes as she pushed back the drawer in its position.

“A lot of foundation and concealer for one woman…” she muttered as she went into the adjoining room, the one that used to be hers with the hopes of finding something in there.

No sooner had she shut the adjoining door behind her that she heard the sound of the toilet flushing.

Her heart lept up to her throat, “the fuck!” She cursed.

She was certain, no one was home, especially not Mirabel.

“I do remember her coming back home that day, her excuse was forgetting something really important.” Rune said.

“Well, how was I to know, I didn't think of that.”

“ you're lucky and I would like to hear the rest of your story. Go on.”

“Sure.”

Akira monitored everything she did from a small crack and that's when she saw it.

The weird tattoo looking symbol. It's streaked from behind her temples down to her neck.

“That's new.” She muttered from behind the door.

Mirabel must have heard something as she stopped and sniffed the air.

Mirabel groaned, “even though she's been away this room still smells like her. It's no wonder Kai is still fixated on her and that will be over soon enough.”

“Did she say anything else?” Orion asked.

“No, she just went in to conceal the mark on her.” Akira answered.

“Well…” Orion Said thinking hard, “Mirabel never had tattoos even till she died or in this case,went missing.”

“But here she is trying to conceal it with a whole lot of makeup,which must really be important,” Akira scoffed.

“And you said it's the marker for a strigoi?” Orion asked.

“The books identified it not me, what do I know?”

“This must be serious, we cannot let anyone else know about this, they might be in danger.”

“I can do that.” Akira said.

Rune walked in on them, “enough of this secret clubhouse, Kai wants us, now!”
