ANMELDEN
Chapter 1
Soraya "You are a disgrace, Soraya," my father hissed. The words were low, but his eyes were full of a weird kind of terror. Because right now he was losing his status. All because I was supposed to be the girl who poisoned the Luna. Which is a total joke, by the way. I can barely brew a cup of coffee without burning the water, let alone concoct a lethal herbal poison that specifically targets the Alpha’s mate. But hey, when a whole pack wants someone to blame for their Luna ending up in a coma, the girl who was the last one seen with the Luna’s tea is an easy target. I stood there, shivering and soaked, as the Alpha stepped forward. He looked like he wanted to rip my throat out right there in the mud. "Soraya Thorne, you are hereby stripped of your rank," he announced. “You are no longer the daughter of the Beta line. You are an Omega. A servant to this pack until your debt is paid or until the Goddess sees fit to take your soul.” The gasp that went through the crowd was almost funny. Like they hadn't been the ones talking about me in the cafeteria for the last forty-eight hours. I felt a surge of rage. I wanted to scream that I was innocent. I wanted to point at the real traitors I knew were hiding in plain sight. But my wolf, Maya, was silent. She was curled up in the back of my mind, suppressed by the weight of the Alpha’s command. "I am innocent," I whispered, but my voice was lost in the wind. The next hour was a blur of me experiencing humiliation in different levels. They took my room. They took my phone. They even took my shoes. By the time I was shoved into the tiny, moldy basement of the pack house that was now my home, I was a shell of a person. I sat on the floor, staring at the gray stone walls, and made a vow. I wasn't going to die here. I wasn't going to let them win. I was going to find out who actually poisoned the Luna, and when I did, I was going to make sure they felt every bit of the pain I was feeling right now. I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw the look on my mother's face as she turned her back on me. That hurt way more than the loss of my title. By morning, I was pretty sure I looked no different from a zombie. There was a sharp knock on the basement door. It swung open, revealing a guard I used to go to school with. His name was Kalen. We used to flirt in history class. Now, he just looked at me like I was something he just scraped off the bottom of his boot. "Get up, Omega," Kalen said flatly. "Your assignment has been finalized." I stood up, my muscles aching from the cold floor. "Where am I going? Am I cleaning the kennels?" He laughed nastily. "You wish. The Alpha decided you need a more rigorous re-education. You are being sent to Blackwood Werewolf Academy." My stomach dropped. Blackwood wasn't just an academy. It was where the elite of the elite went to learn how to lead, and where the most troublesome wolves went to be broken. It was a playground for the rich and the powerful, and for someone like me, it was a death sentence. "Am I a student?," I asked, though I already knew the answer. Kalen smirked. "You are a servant, Soraya. Specifically, a personal assistant. You will be at the beck and call of the most influential students there. You are meant to be an example." I felt a cold sweat break out on my neck. This was the fate worse than death. Being forced to serve the people I used to be equal to. I followed Kalen up the stairs. The pack house was silent, but as we walked through the halls, the stares and whispers were a physical assault. My former Beta's daughter friends averted their eyes. Other Omegas, the real ones, lowered their gaze in pity and fear. The walk was a parade of my new status—an Omega. I kept my head high, ignoring the ghost of my mother's face. We emerged out to the front of the pack house. I braced myself for the humiliation of a rusty transport van or maybe an old bus to carry away the pack's newest disgrace. Instead, three identical, pitch-black SUVs were idling in the driveway. The windows were tinted so dark I couldn't see a thing inside, but the sheer, raw power rolling off them was thick enough to make my lungs heavy and my wolf shiver. Those cars only belonged to one family. "Wait," I said, stopping in my tracks. "Who am I serving?" The door of the middle SUV opened. A guy stepped out, looking like he had just walked off a runway in Paris, except for the fact that his eyes were glowing a dangerous, predatory gold. He looked at me, and then he looked at the other two cars. Two more guys stepped out. They were identical. Sharp jawlines, messy black hair, and that same terrifying, beautiful face. The Triplet Heirs. The Blackwood brothers. Lucius, Silas, and Jax. They were the future of the werewolf world, and they were famous for being the most ruthless, arrogant, and cruel men alive. The one in the middle, Lucius, looked me up and down. A slow, dark smile spread across his face, and I realized immediately that he knew exactly who I was. "So," he said in a velvety voice. "This is the little Beta girl who likes to play with poison." He stepped closer, invading my space until I could smell the scent of cedar and rain on him. He leaned down, whispering right into my ear. "Welcome to the bottom of the food chain, Soraya. We are going to have so much fun breaking you." He didn't wait for a reply. He just grabbed my arm and shoved me toward the open door of the car. I looked at the three of them, and for the first time since this nightmare started, I felt my resolve flicker. My new reality was beginning to sink in. I was to be their toy. Fuck. I was so doomed.Chapter 47Soraya's POV"Why do I know that name?" Jax said, his voice cutting through the heavy quiet that had settled over the room. Lucius didn't even stop sorting through the papers in his hands. He just glanced up for a fraction of a second, his expression completely blank. "It doesn't ring a bell," he said, his tone flat and unbothered. He went right back to checking the files.Silas frowned, taking a step toward the couch. "Jax, what do you mean you know him? What was he planning—""Silas," Jax interrupted, cutting him off. He stood up from the sofa, dusting off his jeans with a slow, deliberate motion. "Stop. The less we know about whatever is happening back there, the better." He looked over at Kendrick, his face a completely unreadable mask. "We left Blackwood Academy for a reason. We’re not planning to return anyway. What happens to that place isn't our problem anymore."I stood paralyzed, my eyes darting between the three brothers. A cold, sinking feeling settled deep in
Chapter 46Soraya’s POVThe pain within was just as miserable as any physical wound I'd felt.I resented I felt so bitterly watching him with someone else, even Maya, my inner wolf, let out a low, agonizing groan, curling inward. His mark on my neck didn't help but at least I could blame it on the mate bond that sent my emotions of betrayal into sensory overload."What the hell do you think you're doing, Jax?" Silas snapped, his deep voice echoing over the rushing sound of the stream.Jax slowly pulled his mouth away from the girl's, his eyes entirely unbothered as he turned his head to look at his brother. "You need to mind your tone, Silas," he said, his voice completely casual as if he expected us to be there. The blonde girl took a small step back, her cheeks flushing a bright, embarrassed pink. But instead of running away, she leaned her shoulder heavily against Jax’s chest, looking up at him awestruck.Watching her touch him like that made my blood boil. The heat in my veins we
Chapter 45Soraya's POV"Thank you, Silas," I said softly, leaning against the doorframe of the small, dusty bedroom. "For helping me inside. I know I’ve been a little out of it."Silas gave me a long, quiet look, his hand lingering on the wooden door handle. The dark shadow of the curse mark on his neck was gone, replaced by a clean, smooth surface, but his eyes still looked incredibly tired. "You don't need to thank me, Soraya," he said, his voice dropping into that deep, gentle tone he only used when we were alone. "Just get some sleep. We’re safe here for the night. I promise."He gave my shoulder a reassuring squeeze, turned around, and walked back down the dark hallway, leaving me alone in the quiet room. The moment his footsteps faded, the heavy silence of the house pressed in on me. I slowly closed the door, my fingers trembling as I reached up and touched the right side of my neck. My skin was hot, vibrating with a faint, electrical pulse that hadn't stopped since the basemen
Chapter 44Jax’s POVYou’ve got a warrior spirit in you. Just like me. You have to look out for Silas and Lucius. No matter what happens, you protect your brothers. My father’s words infiltrated my mind. I didn't know why the memory returned right now. Or maybe I did.Looking across the dim cabin room at Silas, Lucius, and Soraya, the weight of that responsibility slammed into my chest so hard it made me dizzy. My body felt incredibly weird. Maybe it was the matebond, maybe it was the curse.I had no hope in erasing the damage it had done to my bloodline, but I refused to let our family legacy be defined by a twisted bioweapon. Soraya’s father had stolen our bloodline's suffering to build The Withering. Weaponizing the exact sickness that tore our family apart was something I would never forgive. And worse, he was using his own daughter’s blood as the battery to do it.My heart hammered painfully against my ribs, a warning sign that the ticking clock had officially started. But despit
Chapter 43Soraya's POVMy finger trembled against the cold metal of the trigger. This was my moment. They already framed me for hurting the Luna and the Alpha wasn't it finally time to get my hands dirty for a change.I had the power to end things. They were backed against the iron door, their terrified eyes darting from the weapon to the bloody wolves flanking my sides.Every single part of me wanted to pull it. I wanted to end the nightmare right here. But no matter how much they had hurt me, no matter how much pain they had caused, my finger wouldn't move. I couldn't do it. I wasn't a murderer, and I couldn't become like them.Abruptly, the triplets groaned out.I snapped my head around. The bloodshot redness in Silas’s eyes exploded, blinding his irises completely. He dropped to his knees, his hands clawing at his chest as a sickening, wet cough tore from his throat. Jax and Lucius buckled right after him, their faces contorting into identical masks of absolute agony. The black v
Chapter 42Soraya's POVI couldn't understand what was happening when two of my father’s mem grabbed me, one of them quickly undo the silver-laced chains around my ankles and waist. They were tearing me away from the triplets just like he ordered."Leonard, stop this right now!" my mother shrieked, stepping directly into my father’s path. "We are so close! You are being incredibly small-minded, as usual. If my plan works, your little bioweapon won't even be a fraction as powerful as what Soraya will become!"My father didn't even blink. He shoved past her, his boots heavy against the floor. "A weapon we can actually control is better than a wild Queen we can't," he snapped back. He looked up at his men. "Keep going! Separate them now!""You think you’re the only one in this pack with power?" my mother hissed, her voice dropping into something dangerous and cold. She reached into her pocket, pulled out her phone. "Come in."Within seconds, the door was flooded again, I guessed they wer
Chapter 41Soraya's POVAs the triplets moved in fear I pushed the weight of my chair back, wondering if they would morph like Silas did.Lucius clamped a hand over the left side of his throat, his fingers pressing hard against the darkening veins there. "I don’t... I don't feel good," he rasped.J
Chapter 39Soraya’s POV“Arhh!” I screamed out as I slammed my hands over my eyes, my face instantly burning hot as I backed up against the bathroom doorframe."Soraya!" Silas hissed, the water splashing violently in the porcelain tub. "Calm down!""I'm sorry! I thought you were asleep in the bedro
Chapter 38Soraya’s POVAs his lips crashed on mine, I lost track of everything, except the heat building at the center of me.The kiss was nothing subtle.Jax’s lips were hot against mine, his lips parting my mouth until he could subdue every inch of me.My body responded like it had been waiting
Chapter 37Soraya’s POVWhen I returned Silas was wrapped in a blanket and he was back. Though John wasn’t what I expected, it was his advice that returned Silas back to normal so instead of giving the bad news I joined them."How do you feel?" I whispered, as they got close.“I’ve seen better days
