LOGINChapter 4
Soraya I don't get it, Soraya. I can feel it. They're our mates….. something does feel off, but the bond really is there. Maya's internal voice was a mix of confusion and terrifying excitement, a dissonance that made my head spin. How could she even consider this a good thing? "Shut up," I snapped at her internally. "I don't fucking care. He’s a jerk. They’re all jerks." But I couldn't ignore the paper he’d teased me with. If the handwriting wasn't mine, and it wasn't a student’s, whose was it? I spent the rest of the evening in a daze, waiting for the clock to hit midnight. The triplets had claimed me as their fucking property, which meant the guards didn't look twice when I moved around the halls, probably assuming I was on some late-night errand for the "princes." The Headmaster’s office was located in the highest tower of the castle. It was a long, exhausting climb, and my heart was thudding against my ribs like a trapped bird. I used a thin piece of wire I’d swiped from the training grounds to jiggle the lock. It was a trick my brother had taught me back when we used to sneak into the pack’s archives for fun. The door clicked open with a soft thud. The office gave off the occupied-by-the-rich vibe. I didn't turn on the lights. Instead, I used the small flashlight I’d managed to hide in my boot. I bypassed the main desk and went straight for the "Restricted" filing cabinet in the corner. If there was a conspiracy, the Headmaster was definitely in on it. I flipped through files on "Rogue Sightings" and "Tuition Delinquencies" until I found a folder with a familiar crest. The Thorne family crest. My crest. My fingers shook as I opened it. Inside were transcripts of bank transfers and encrypted messages. My eyes scanned the lines, and the air left my lungs. "Transaction complete," one message read. "The girl will be the scapegoat. The Luna’s removal ensures the Beta’s promotion to acting Alpha during the recovery period." The signature at the bottom a digital thumbprint. My father’s. My world didn't just crack; it shattered into a million jagged pieces. He hadn't just stood by while they stripped my rank. He had planned it. He’d poisoned the Luna and used his own daughter as the sacrificial lamb just to get a taste of power. I felt a sob rise in my throat. My vision suddenly got blurry as I tried fighting back the tears. "Found what you were looking for?" The lights overhead flickered on, blinding me. I squinted, dropping the file as three shadows stretched across the floor. Lucius, Silas, and Jax were standing by the door. Lucius had his arms crossed, looking bored. Jax was leaning against the doorframe with that same annoying smirk. But Silas... Silas was watching me with an intensity that made me feel like he could see the shattered pieces of my heart. "I... I can explain," I stammered, backing away from the cabinet. "Relax, Princess," Jax said, stepping into the room. "We already told you we knew you were innocent. Did you think we were just sitting around doing nothing?" "You knew it was my father?" I whispered, my voice breaking. Silas walked toward me, picking up the fallen file. "We suspected. Your father has been making moves across several packs for months. He’s not working alone, though. This goes deeper than just the Crimson Moon pack." "Then why didn't you tell me?" I yelled, the grief turning into anger. "Why did you let me sit in that basement? Why did you make me wash your boots and kiss me and treat me like a toy?" "Because if you knew, you would have acted," Lucius said, his voice cold. "And if you acted, they would have killed you before we could use you to get to the source." "Use me?" I laughed, a bitter, hollow sound. "Right. Because that’s all I am to you guys." Silas stepped into my personal space, his hand coming up to cup my jaw. "You're more than that. We told you, Soraya. You belong to us. And we protect what’s ours." I wanted to spit in his face, but before I could open my mouth, a deafening wail tore through the air. The Academy alarms. We all froze. The sirens were followed by a series of muffled explosions that shook the very floor beneath our feet. I ran to the window, looking down at the courtyard. The Omega dorms were engulfed in flames. Thick, black smoke was billowing into the moonlight, and I could hear the distant screams of students waking up in a panic. "Oh no," I breathed, my face going pale. "Mina." Mina was the only other Omega who had been kind to me. She was a small, shy girl who had shared her bread with me when I was too tired to eat. She lived on the top floor. "Soraya, stay here," Lucius commanded, his Alpha aura flaring to life. "The guards will handle it." "The guards don't care about Omegas!" I screamed, shoving past him. I didn't care about the files. I didn't care about the triplets or the fact that I'd just found out my own father bloody betrayed me. I just ran. I bolted down the stairs, my lungs burning, as the heat from the fire began to reach the main castle. As I burst out of the tower and into the courtyard, I saw the roof of the Omega dorm begin to cave in. "Mina!" I shrieked, sprinting toward the wall of fire. Behind me, I heard the heavy footsteps of the triplets, but I didn't look back. All I could think about was the girl trapped in the smoke, and the terrifying realization that this fire wasn't an accident. It was a fucking cleanup.Chapter 47Soraya's POV"Why do I know that name?" Jax said, his voice cutting through the heavy quiet that had settled over the room. Lucius didn't even stop sorting through the papers in his hands. He just glanced up for a fraction of a second, his expression completely blank. "It doesn't ring a bell," he said, his tone flat and unbothered. He went right back to checking the files.Silas frowned, taking a step toward the couch. "Jax, what do you mean you know him? What was he planning—""Silas," Jax interrupted, cutting him off. He stood up from the sofa, dusting off his jeans with a slow, deliberate motion. "Stop. The less we know about whatever is happening back there, the better." He looked over at Kendrick, his face a completely unreadable mask. "We left Blackwood Academy for a reason. We’re not planning to return anyway. What happens to that place isn't our problem anymore."I stood paralyzed, my eyes darting between the three brothers. A cold, sinking feeling settled deep in
Chapter 46Soraya’s POVThe pain within was just as miserable as any physical wound I'd felt.I resented I felt so bitterly watching him with someone else, even Maya, my inner wolf, let out a low, agonizing groan, curling inward. His mark on my neck didn't help but at least I could blame it on the mate bond that sent my emotions of betrayal into sensory overload."What the hell do you think you're doing, Jax?" Silas snapped, his deep voice echoing over the rushing sound of the stream.Jax slowly pulled his mouth away from the girl's, his eyes entirely unbothered as he turned his head to look at his brother. "You need to mind your tone, Silas," he said, his voice completely casual as if he expected us to be there. The blonde girl took a small step back, her cheeks flushing a bright, embarrassed pink. But instead of running away, she leaned her shoulder heavily against Jax’s chest, looking up at him awestruck.Watching her touch him like that made my blood boil. The heat in my veins we
Chapter 45Soraya's POV"Thank you, Silas," I said softly, leaning against the doorframe of the small, dusty bedroom. "For helping me inside. I know I’ve been a little out of it."Silas gave me a long, quiet look, his hand lingering on the wooden door handle. The dark shadow of the curse mark on his neck was gone, replaced by a clean, smooth surface, but his eyes still looked incredibly tired. "You don't need to thank me, Soraya," he said, his voice dropping into that deep, gentle tone he only used when we were alone. "Just get some sleep. We’re safe here for the night. I promise."He gave my shoulder a reassuring squeeze, turned around, and walked back down the dark hallway, leaving me alone in the quiet room. The moment his footsteps faded, the heavy silence of the house pressed in on me. I slowly closed the door, my fingers trembling as I reached up and touched the right side of my neck. My skin was hot, vibrating with a faint, electrical pulse that hadn't stopped since the basemen
Chapter 44Jax’s POVYou’ve got a warrior spirit in you. Just like me. You have to look out for Silas and Lucius. No matter what happens, you protect your brothers. My father’s words infiltrated my mind. I didn't know why the memory returned right now. Or maybe I did.Looking across the dim cabin room at Silas, Lucius, and Soraya, the weight of that responsibility slammed into my chest so hard it made me dizzy. My body felt incredibly weird. Maybe it was the matebond, maybe it was the curse.I had no hope in erasing the damage it had done to my bloodline, but I refused to let our family legacy be defined by a twisted bioweapon. Soraya’s father had stolen our bloodline's suffering to build The Withering. Weaponizing the exact sickness that tore our family apart was something I would never forgive. And worse, he was using his own daughter’s blood as the battery to do it.My heart hammered painfully against my ribs, a warning sign that the ticking clock had officially started. But despit
Chapter 43Soraya's POVMy finger trembled against the cold metal of the trigger. This was my moment. They already framed me for hurting the Luna and the Alpha wasn't it finally time to get my hands dirty for a change.I had the power to end things. They were backed against the iron door, their terrified eyes darting from the weapon to the bloody wolves flanking my sides.Every single part of me wanted to pull it. I wanted to end the nightmare right here. But no matter how much they had hurt me, no matter how much pain they had caused, my finger wouldn't move. I couldn't do it. I wasn't a murderer, and I couldn't become like them.Abruptly, the triplets groaned out.I snapped my head around. The bloodshot redness in Silas’s eyes exploded, blinding his irises completely. He dropped to his knees, his hands clawing at his chest as a sickening, wet cough tore from his throat. Jax and Lucius buckled right after him, their faces contorting into identical masks of absolute agony. The black v
Chapter 42Soraya's POVI couldn't understand what was happening when two of my father’s mem grabbed me, one of them quickly undo the silver-laced chains around my ankles and waist. They were tearing me away from the triplets just like he ordered."Leonard, stop this right now!" my mother shrieked, stepping directly into my father’s path. "We are so close! You are being incredibly small-minded, as usual. If my plan works, your little bioweapon won't even be a fraction as powerful as what Soraya will become!"My father didn't even blink. He shoved past her, his boots heavy against the floor. "A weapon we can actually control is better than a wild Queen we can't," he snapped back. He looked up at his men. "Keep going! Separate them now!""You think you’re the only one in this pack with power?" my mother hissed, her voice dropping into something dangerous and cold. She reached into her pocket, pulled out her phone. "Come in."Within seconds, the door was flooded again, I guessed they wer
Chapter 23Soraya's POV"Well hello, look who is finally here." We heard a voice say and then a man in a suit came out of the forest with a smirk plastered on his face."Rico." Silas growled, his fists clenching and unclenching. So this was Rico. He does look like someone that would definitely have
Chapter 22Soraya's POVThat night we didn't sleep like Silas had ordered us not to. Even the food we ate, nobody complimented it. Not because it wasn't delicious but we were too focused, paying attention to every little sound. We didn't want to be caught off guard. We wanted to be ready when Rico
Chapter 20Soraya's POV"Are you sure you don't want me to carry you?" Jax asked and I couldn't miss the worry in his tone.Quite treating me like a baby, I wanted to snap at him but I knew it would sound really harsh."I'm fine. I can walk perfectly well, I'm not even limping anymore." I replied,
Chapter 19Soraya's POV "He has a son at an academy very close to ours." Lucius blurted out."Really? I thought he didn't have any children." Silas muttered."Yeah but I overheard, father telling some of his associates a long time ago before he… you know, that the boy goes there." He answered."Yo
