Chapter 1

Liam's Pov:

Was there more to life than following up to the expectations of others?

I was born in a small city of Lunaris. Lunaris is a beautiful land, filled with lush forests, towering mountains, and sparkling rivers. But there's also a dark side to Lunaris according to my father, with dangerous creatures moving in the shadows. The capital city of Lunaris is called Alkora, and it's a bustling hub of activity. It's where humans and werewolves coexist..

Leander Kieran.

That’s my dad.

He is the alpha of his pack,he is seen as their leader but not like the humans know him cause of course the humans dosent know we exist, they see us as a normal human like they are too which I wish I was. They have their own ruler in alkora.

All my life all I ever wanted was  to live a normal life but I also  know the responsibility that comes with being a werewolf and your father the alpha. That means you get to obey all the rules.

According to my father, you will get your first transformation when you are 18.I’m still eighteen though and I’m left with only 4 months to be nineteen and I haven’t experienced it yet which is cool for me but my dad was always worried about it.The only cool thing I got out of it was when I was eighteen,my asthmatic days was over.Dad said maybe it’s because I will be having my first werewolf transformation and wouldn’t be needing my inhaler anymore,I was so excited about it.

We have rules that have kept us in peace for ages with the humans and how we have gone this far without the humans knowing we exist”

As my thoughts swirled around the rules and expectations of the tribe, the ringing of the phone broke through the silence. It was a loud sound, and it took me a moment to realize that it was my phone ringing. I fumbled for it,the caller ID read "Sophia,"

Sophia was my best friend.we literally grew up together and she was a beta and so was her family.

I took a deep breath before answering. "Hello?" I said, trying to keep my voice calm and steady.

"Hey, Liam," Sophia's voice came through the phone, sounding cheerful. "How's it going?"

"Not too bad," I replied, trying to sound casual. "Just the usual stuff, you know?" I knew Sophia could sense that I was holding something back, but I wasn't ready to tell her the truth about how I was feeling."You sure about that?" Sophia asked, her tone teasing but with concern. "You sound a bit tense."

"I’m good” i said

"Have you told your dad about what we discussed,You going to school?,I know humans are there and all”she said

But other werewolves go to school that we don’t know yet but I’m sure of it”including your sweet friend “sophia”she tried to be funny but I wasn’t having it

Sophia had her first transformation when she was 18 but I never really asked her how it felt and all.

“but all your dad do is send a tutor to teach you and Nora at home

That’s boring”..she continued

"I haven't told my dad anything yet," I replied, my voice tight. "I'm still trying to figure out what to do. I know he wouldn't approve of me going to school with humans and I can’t seem to figure out why because other werewolves go to school too,I can’t be different..But I'm tired of being stuck at home with a tutor. I want to experience the world outside our type ." I hesitated, unsure of how much to share with Sophia. "It's just… I feel like I'm missing out on so much. Like there's this whole other world out there that I'll never get to see."

"I get it," Sophia said, her voice gentle.

Why not sleep over it and decide what you really want

"Sounds like a good idea," i said. In the meantime, try to relax and not stress yourself out. You've already taken the first step by deciding to speak to your father, so give yourself a break."sophia said

"Thanks, Soph," I said, grateful for her support. "I'll do my best." I could hear the smile in her voice as she replied.

"You got this, Liam",she said and ended the call

I hang up the phone and lean back in my chair, feeling overwhelmed. I'm not sure what to do about the situation with school. I've been so excited about going to school, and I don't know what I'll do if my dad won't let me go. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don't know what to do next. I feel powerless and frustrated.

Nora just walks into my room.

"Hey!" I say, irritated that Nora just barged into my room. "You could've knocked!" Nora rolls her eyes. "Whatever," she says. "Anyway,I just want to borrow your laptop for a min”

“No,and get out of my room “

“I hope it spoils”she says and banged my door behind her.

I signed.

“Nora Kieran”

That’s my sister

Nora is my younger sister, even though we are 3 years apart. Sometimes, it feels like we're worlds apart. While I'm always thinking about school and the future, Nora is more interested in celebrity gossip and hot guys. We have different interests and different ways of seeing the world, but despite our differences, we still love each other.

Just as I'm thinking about what to do next, I hear my dad's voice from downstairs. "Liam, can you let your sister use your laptop for a little while?" he calls.

“Ugh,dad you know I hate it when she uses my things”I screamed.

“It’s just for a minute “she said.

“Fine”

Nora walks into my room and  lets out a triumphant "aha!" and strides over to my desk. She looks at me, making exaggerated, goofy faces, and then grabs my laptop. I groan in annoyance, but I know there's nothing I can do. I watch as she walks out of my room, my laptop clutched in her hands.

So I locked my door behind and decided to rest having it in mind that tomorrow is the day Iet my feelings out.

With that,I went off to sleep.
