Charlotte POV:
The pale yellow dish sat plainly in front of me. As did a bright orange liquid, floating around in a clear cup. I felt no desire to consume either of the two that was brought to me. My stomach wasn’t bubbling with hunger, I wasn’t salivating at the sight, I wasn’t jumping at the chance to stuff it all into my mouth.
I felt nothing.
I want nothing.
But to die.
“Love, eat.” The dangerously handsome man still hasn’t left. The others have, but he stayed. How weird. “You're not healthy. Eat for me. Eat for us.”
Us? I only see him. Is he talking about the doctor and his friend?
“Do you not like it?” He peered at my uneaten bowl of food, “Is it not good? I could fix you something else.”
I’m not hungry. I don’t want food.
My bottom lip trembled, I feel like crying. Crying mean showing emotion, showing emotion is something that I wasn’t allowed to do. Showing emotion means I’ll get in trouble. Getting in trouble means pain.
But pain could also mean forever sleep.
Maybe I should cry.
“No, no, no. Don’t cry, Love.” He mumbled a string of curses underneath his breath, as if he was actually worried about me crying. “Damnit.”
Why is he so committed? I’m not understanding what he exactly wants from me. I’m nothing important.
I don’t deserve the attention.
I don’t want it.
It makes me uncomfortable.
“Where is she?!” The room door slammed open, again, another dangerously handsome slightly huffing man entering the room. My eyes widen, he reminded me of Theós, but looked nothing like him. While Theós was obviously caucasian, the huffing male in front of me was clearly a descendant from an asian heritage. Like Theós, his black locks was gelled back. His fiery, dark brown eyes sparklingly warmly as they popped out from his flawless tan skin. From the sleeveless shirt he was wearing, I could see the black ink of tattoos that littered his skin. Making his slightly sweet, gorgeous face appear slightly more mysterious.
Theós didn’t bother to acknowledge the other handsome man in the room. His dark eyes still roaming over my ugly, sniffling face and chapped, trembling lips.
“Why does she look like she’s about to cry?!” The handsome man growled, “What did you do Theós?!”
“I don’t know!” Theós growled back, his attention finally snapping away from me. “She doesn’t want to eat Aries! She needs to eat!”
“Have you tried asking-”
“She won’t talk!” Theós interrupted. “Don’t you dare make it seem like I’m a bad mate! I’ve been doing everything-”
“Apparently it isn’t enough.” Aries shot back.
“At least I was here when she was laying, withering away, in that goddamn bed-”
“You know I would’ve never left if I known that our mate would be here!”
My chest heaved as the yells grew louder, as the swears spoke more often, as they stood, toe to toe with each other. They were yelling at each other. Something in me was telling me to stop them. To cuddle in their arms, to calm them down, to eat for them.
I can’t breathe.
“Little one,” They breathed, turning their attention away from each other to my silent gasping form. I stilled as they both reached out to touch me. I stilled as they scooted closer. I stilled as I felt their hot body heat, caressing my cold body.
“Breathe little one.” Aries cooed as Theós ran his hands through my ratty, knotted locks. “You need to breathe.”
And I did breathe. I tried to stop, I tried to hold my breath, but I couldn’t. Each coo Aries let out to me started a gasp that would be caught in my throat, and the sparks from Theós touch pushed it out. They’re helping me breathe.
“That’s it love.” It was Theós turn to coo as he encouraged me. “Just breathe.”
They didn’t move as my breathing turned back to normal. In fact, they seem to move in closer.
“How many times have this happened?” Aries asked.
“This is the second time.” Theós answered, “She woke up with a panic attack earlier.”
Aries stared at me, his fiery brown orbs drilling holes through my face. “Have you figured out her triggers.”
“Not exactly.” His icy blue tinted, green orbs turned to me. “I assume that meeting new people and yelling are few of her triggers.”
“You assume?”
His icy eyes harden as he flashed his friend a glare, “Do you want to see our mate in that condition again, Brother?”
My eyes widen, their brothers. But they look nothing alike.
“Of course not-”
“Then yes, I assume that those are her triggers. Unless you want to reduce our mate into-”
“Okay.” Aries growled, squishing me towards his muscular chest. My face burned at the closeness. My face burned at the sparks that filled me with unfamiliar pleasure. “I get it.”
“Don’t hog her.” Theós growled back, reaching out to grab me. Grab any part of me.
“You had her all day!” He pushed me deeper into his chest, “Go fix her something to eat. She probably need something cook by her mate.”
“Fine.” Theós huffed, pressing a quick kiss on my forehead, before speeding out the room. “You better keep a sharp eye on her!”
“Of course I will!” Aries hollered back. He grumbled a few choice words underneath his breath, snuggling closer to me.
My throat tightened in extreme uncomfortableness. I’m too close. He’s too close. I need my space. I need to be alone. I used to love to be in people's presence. I use to love to be around people. That was before I was brought into reality. I’m not meant to be in someone’s presence. I’m not meant to be around people. I don’t deserve it.
“Your so beautiful.” He muttered, nuzzling my neck gently. “And so ours.”
I shook my head, pressing my hands against his chest and started shoving. I need my space.
“What’s wrong?” He asked. “Do you need to go to the bathroom? Are you hungry? Do you feel tired?”
I shook my head, squirming and shoving. Why couldn’t he understand? Why wouldn’t he move? I want to be left alone. I want my space. I want to die. No matter how handsome he and his brother is.
I could feel his burning stare, not ceasing in my actions. Burning with questions that I couldn’t answer verbally. He couldn’t understand me. My eyes squeezed tight, trying to picture myself alone, in blissful darkness, never waking up. He couldn’t understand that I wanted to be left alone. That only caused me to squirm harder, shove harder.
I opened my eyes when I felt myself being placed onto the hospital bed. My aggressive movement stopped immediately, the uncomfortable feeling slowly disappearing.
I feel better. Still wishing I was in my black abyss, but I felt better.
“What happened?!” The door slammed open with Theós standing there in an apron and a tray of food in his hands. He marched towards me, placing the tray onto the nearby table and reaching for me. I scooted back, not wanting to be in someone’s arms again. No matter how cute he looks in an apron. “I could feel her emotions from the kitchen-”
“Theós, stop.” Pulling him away from me, he started to lowly explain about earlier. “She doesn’t like to be touched. She doesn’t like to be near people.”
“But we’re her-”
“I know we are.” He glanced over at me, studying my probably wide-eyed, scared expression. “Does she know that we're mates?”
“I told her that we were mates.”
“I meant,” Aries corrected, “Does she know what mates are? Does she know what we are? I can smell wolf, but I can also smell human.”
There’s that word again. They’ve been calling me these weird names, ever since I woken up. And now they're talking about wolves and humans. How can you smell human? I haven’t been around a dog or a wolf, so how could I possibly smell like one. Maybe it’s because I haven’t taken any showers in the past two months. Are they trying to say that I stink? But that doesn’t explain how I smell human. Is that their code word for stink?
“You think she’s human?” Theós ask.
Why would he think that I’m human? I am human. What else could I possibly be? They’re not making any sense. None of this is making any sense.
“Sweetheart.” I don’t know why they were still trying to talk to me? People usually give up on me after a minute of two of silence and blank stares. But these guys, they won’t stop. They’re not punching me. They’re not yelling at me. They’re not getting giving me the right actions. And I don’t know what to do. “Are you human?”
I slowly nodded, hoping that they’ll see that I don’t belong here. Maybe they’ll kill me.
“Fuck.” Theós swore, his large hands tightening into meaty fists. “How could I not notice?”
“Probably because her human scent is being overpowered by another.” Aries explained, his eyes never leaving me. “Who do you live with-?” He paused, expecting me to fill in the blank. Expecting me to open my mouth and mumble out a name. Expecting me to open my mouth and talk in general.
“She won’t say anything Ares. Not even her name.” Aries opened his mouth, ready to ask something but was interrupted by Theós. “The doctor couldn’t find any documents or medical records dealing with her so I told Timothy to snoop around.”
“Birth certificate?”
“It’s like she never existed.” Theós frowned, glancing over at me. “There’s nothing on her. Nothing at all.”
I didn’t react to anything they were saying. Not finding it surprising at all. Of course there isn’t anything one me. That would give him a chance of getting caught. And he knows better than to get caught. If he gets caught, I’m the one that’ll get in trouble. I’m the one that people will think that’s crazy. I’m the one with the problem. I’m the disgusting creature that should be locked up. He will and he has.
Aries slumped over, seeming defeated by everything that has happened so far. “So what do we do?”
Let me go.
Killing me could work too.
Anything along those lines would do perfectly for me.
“We gain her trust.” He confirmed with a nod. “Human or not, she’s our mate. She needs us as much as we need her.”
No I don’t. I don’t need anyone. The only thing I need is death. Death is the only thing that can make me happy. Death will make me feel alive again. There’s nothing these two men could do to make me feel like that. I just wish they knew that.
Theós POV: "Look harder!" I snarled out, glaring heatedly at one of my pack members that was trembling in front of me. I ignored the flash of fear that cross his face, snarling a little louder to get my point across. "This is your Luna I'm talking about! My mate-" "Our mate." Aries drawled out as he walked into my office. "She's our mate Theós." "I know that." I grumbled, dismissing the still trembling idiot away. With a quick, sharp bow, he quickly stumbled his way out my office, closing the door behind him. I turned in my seat, facing Ares, ready to hear whatever he needed to tell me. "How is she?" A hard frown appeared on his face as he sunk in a chair. "She just sits there Theós. She's had four panic attacks this past week. She won't let anyone near her while she's awake. She still won't eat and she still won't talk to anyone. I don't want to keep calling our mate she or a stupid nickname. I want to call her by her name." "Damnit." I cursed, slouching in my seat, not wanting
Aries POV:"I just want her to trust me. I want her to trust us." I muttered out desperately. All I want to do is to hold her in my arms, have her cuddle into my chest as we'll wait for Theós to come back with food for her. Then when he'll come into the room, I'll move her from my lap, setting her right beside me as Theós walks in with the food. It'll be her favorite, whatever it is. He'll sit down on the other side of her, placing the tray on her lap, and they'll take turns feeding her. And after she's all full and fed, Theós would pull her on his lap, and it would be his turn to cuddle with her as I'll gather the dirty dishes and go downstairs to wash them. We'll take care of her. Take her shopping, feed her, protect her, love her, well do anything and everything that a good mate would do, and then some."I know you do Alpha Aries, but you have to understand, she's probably been through more things that we know of. More than likely, she's not familiar with the act of kindness that y
Charlotte POV:It's been three months since my captures found out that I could talk. Ever since then, they've been asking me thousands of questions every day. It's weird because I only speak in my native tongue. But that doesn't stop them from asking me questions.I don't even know why I said something. Even if they can't understand me. I've been trained to not say anything. I'm supposed to be scared to say anything. They're not supposed to be so nice to meet. They're not supposed to worry about feeding me, worry if I'm cold, worry if I have enough blankets and pillows, or worry if I was comfortable. It's not supposed to be this way.But it is.And I love it.But I'm not supposed to."Hey Charlotte." I looked away from the window, peeking through my lashes towards the door. Ares walked in with a calm smile, carrying a tray of food. "How are you my pretty Cherry?"Stay quiet Charlotte. Stay quiet. Stay quiet. Stay quiet. "A-Au e ole e kamailio pu ana me oe. Au e ole e kamailio pu ana i
Theós POV:With my forehead pressed against the cool counter table, I silently grumbled to myself about the meeting that I was just in.Stupid council. How dare they try and defy me? They knew what was going on with me and Aries mate. How fragile she was. How she still isn't use to her mates. Why would I introduce Charlotte to them when she can't even leave the room? They want to rush something that shouldn't, and won't be rushed. If it will take Charlotte years to trust us, then they'll have to wait years. I rather have her take her time then to rush her and her to hate us later on."I see the meeting went well."I lifted my head from the counter, glaring over at Aries and Timothy. "Why did you tell me to meet you in the kitchen? Shouldn't we be in Charlotte's room?""This is about Charlotte, that's why I told you to meet me in here." Sliding in a chair next to me, he plopped the tray, still with food that I cook, onto the table. "I didn't want to discuss this in front of her. Someth
Theós POV:"Your kneading the dough too soft Aries." I pointed out, eyes narrowing directly at the kneading fingers. "You need to be a little firmer or it won't turn out right." "Will do-TIMOTHY!" With one hand still kneading the dough, thankfully kneading it a little firmer, he used the other one to point at the idiot behind me. I turned around, eyes still narrowed as I try to catch what he did. "Stop trying to eat the barbeque chicken!" "I was just tasting it!" He defended, "I don't want the Luna eating nasty food! You should be grateful!" "That was your third spoonful!" "I wanted to be sure!" He argued, still trying to convince us that he wasn't being greedy. At the unimpressed look he was receiving from us, he pouted and lowly mumbled out and apology. "I'm sorry okay. I'm just hungry. And the food looks and smells so good.""What a surprise." Rolling my eyes, I shuffled back over to the larger steaming pot. "You're always hungry."He sighed, beginning his stirring
Aries POV:I was slightly surprise at the sight that greeted me when I entered my mates room. I watched happily as my mate messily stuffed her face with the food that we prepared. Her sunken cheeks covered in bbq sauce and bits of bread. Her gorgeous grey eyes focused completely on nothing but the fastly diminishing pile of food. Her tiny hands sticky with sauce as they try to grab as much as it could to stuff in her mouth. It was an adorable sight.I quickly made my way over to the seat on the other side of the bed and sat down. She flinched, her wide eyes tearing away from her food to look up at me. I flashed her a large, warm grin, hoping to show how happy I am that she was eating. She studied my face for a while, her dark sunken cheeks flushing brightly before her gaze dropped back to her food, resuming her eating. "She won't be needing the other batch of Cha Siu Bao. I don't want her to get a stomach ache. But she will be needing that bowl of soup.""Does that mean I can eat
Charlotte POV:I could feel his heated stares as I stuffed my face with a breakfast burrito. I savored every bite of season, juicy ground beef, melted shredded cheese, fresh lettuce, bites of baked chicken, some sort of sauce, that was all wrapped up in a soft tortilla. I think I'm stuffing my sixth one into my mouth. I couldn't remember the last time I've eaten this much. I couldn't remember the last time I've eaten before being kidnapped.Eating was a rare privilege that was given to me. I wasn't aloud to eat without his permission. No matter where I went, which wasn't a lot of places. Not at home, not on the rare chances where I had to leave home with him, I wasn't aloud to eat at school either. Not much because of him not allowing me to. It was more of them refusing to feed a fat, disgrace like me."Baby?" I peered up, mouth stuffed as I waited for Theós to continue. "Were you ever fed before we found you?"I shrugged with a swallow. His eyes narrowed, "Use your words baby."I hes
Theós POV:"I want to take the Luna out shopping."I blinked, tearing my eyes away from the sub that I was making for my Luna to stare at my Beta. He stood confidently, greenish hazel eyes staring determinedly towards me as his bottom lip quivered, as if to drop to a pout if I said no. My brows raised, "No."He pouted, which wasn't a surprise, as his confident stance slouched. "Why not?! I think she's ready! Plus I'm ready to dress her up in incredibly cute outfits!""She's not ready Timothy. She hasn't even left the room yet." I explained, eyes dropping back to the sub as I added more salami. "You can't just take her to the mall. There's a process and she needs baby steps. Plus she's finally just getting use to me, Aries, you, and Ben. She still gets uncomfortable being surrounded by people and-""Come on!" He whined out, slouching even further, leaning on the counter table. "I know she's bored being trapped in that room all the time! She needs to get out! Explore! Do something fun!
