Vera slipped in and out of consciousness because of the heavy blow she received on the back of her head. She could feel a trail of liquid going down her spine under her shirt. Her wolf was weak and mewling. Vera dragged in a breath and a pang of pain struck her heart like a poisoned arrow.

A slow shivering started in her chest before it started constricting. She couldn't breath and her wolf's mewling increased to a howl.

"W-what is this, Verity? What's this pain?" Vera asked her wolf as she gritted her teeth.

'Wolfsbane! We are surrounded by wolfsbane, Verena.' Her wolf answered.

Vera forced her lashes open and looked around her. She was in a warehouse with lots of carton boxes. Each box was laden with— wolfsbane plant!

Vera's heart gave a jolt as she realized where she was put. She was already dizzy because of the head injury and blood oozing out in constant trail, and with wolfsbane's smell in the air, she felt like she was planned to killed after a slow torture.
