is it necessary that every story should have a happy ending? no right? the same is with Shayra; today Shayra is going away from Yash and Ahana forever.
" Why are you making me do this Yash? " Shayra asked as She looked at him.
" you gave me the pain of a lifetime, Why can not I give you this? " Yash said as he pressed the button and kept the mask on her face.
" There is no need for this now Yash, I am going away, " Shayra said as she breathes through the oxygen mask.
" Mat Jao na, " (please don't go ) Yash said as a tear slipped down his eyes.
" what can I do Yash, I have to go, " Shayra said as a knock was heard on the door; Sherlin entered the room with a two-year-old Ahana in her arms.
" My baby, " Shayar said as she took the mask off her face and tried to sit up but she was too weak to even sit up by herself.
as always Yash helped her to sit straight as Sherlin gave Ahana to her, Shayra kissed her forehead as a tear slipped off her eyes and landed on Ahana's face.
" Please make sure she does not have any memory of me, give her all the love she deserves Di, I am leaving my two precious treasures with you, " Shayra said as she took off her nuptial chain and handed it to Sherlin.
Sherlin tried her best not to break down in front of her; " Yash give her all the happiness you can OK she should not feel her mother is not anymore with her, " SHayra said as she looked at him.
the red color in Sherlin's hair portion was more than enough to keep her at peace; " Leave us alone, " Yash said as Sherlin walked out of the room leaving Yash, Shayra, and their Ahana alone.
" let me take you to the world's best doctors Shayra, I can not, we ... Can not live without you, think about Ahana, " Yash said well begged her.
" And what will be the result of that Yash? I'll get to live a few more days of this painful life than I will need to leave, " Shayra said as she bites her lips to stop herself from crying.
" Shayra, " Yash was about to say when Shayra put her finger on his lips.
" sushh... let me give you my goodbye, please, " Shayra whispered as Yash nodded, it was difficult for him to say his last goodbye to her.
" pas Aiye Ki Ham Nahin
ayenge Baar Baar, "( a sob left her throat as soon as she started singing )
" bahen Gale Mein Daal Ke
ham Ro Le Zaar-Zaar, "( She hugged Yash as they cried silently )
" ankhoon Se Phir Ye
pyaar Ki Barsaat Ho Na H,shayad Phir Is Janam Mein
mulakat Ho Na Ho
lag Ja Gale... " As soon as the last line finished Shayra started having difficulty in breathing.
" wait SHayra I will call the doctor, " Yash said as he put the oxygen mask on her face.
Shayra shook her head and took her hand in his, " let me see you one last time, Yash, " She whispered.
" is it this easy for you to leave me, " Yash said.
" no, it is very difficult but I have to go, " SHayra said as Yash hugged her tightly still taking care not to hurt her.
" don't leave me, Amor, " Yash said.
" it is time for me to leave Yash, how can go without the permission of my husband, " Shayra said.
" NHI, " Yash shook his head.
" I will always be there with you Yash, I love you, now let me go, " Shayra said as She breathed deeply, the pain was very much visible on her face, Yash nodded as She closed her eyes but not before whispering I love you to him.
the machine stopped beeping as a loud sound echoed in the room; Tears made their way down his cheeks as he stared at the lifeless body of his wife, of his love, of the mother of his child, of his SHayra.
she was no more.
Sherline cried as Shayra's body was kept down from the bed. Seeing her sister this way was so much pain.
Little ahana did not even know what she lost as she stared at her Maasi with doe-like eyes carrying the innocence of the whole world.
Yash on the other hand covered her face with white sheets, he was nothing to see her again, seeing her dead once is painful enough.
" I'll wash her body and make her wear the red joda ( clothes) " Sherlin said as she wiped her tears.
She was about to get up from the floor but Yash shook his head at her.
" I'll do the needful " Yash said but Sherlin couldn't let him do it.
He was hurting all this was too hurtful.
" let me, please, " she gave ahana to him.
.
Everything was ready, shayra was being let down by the strains, Jay, and Mahira stared at her body before the priest did the rituals, soon it was time to take her to the graveyard.
Ahana was crying badly when she saw her mother going away and not blowing a kiss at her.
Sherlin took the baby in her arms and hugged her.
Yash was holding his tears till he carried the body of his wife on his shoulders.
Jay and others knew how difficult it is for him, but they didn't say anything.
Every moment they shared together came in front of his eyes, their first fight, him teasing her when she was his secretary.
How he had made her climb all the stairs just to make her resign, the fire in the apartment complex, him marrying Her by force.
Her shooting him and pushing him down the waterfall, him falling in love with her again, the birth of Ahana
Everything and then how drastically their relationship changed and now she left him.
Jay put his palm on Yash's shoulder, it was time to give fire to her body.
Yash gulped his pain with his saliva before he took the earthen pot from the priest's hand and moved around before dropping it on the ground.
He gave fire to her and stood there numb.
" Yash let's go home, " Jay said to him when everyone had left
" Huh? " Yash wasn't in his senses, his body felt heavy, he wanted to leave too, he wanted to leave the world with her.
But he couldn't
Because of the promise he made to her.
His wife
" promise me Yash, you'll stay with Ahana, you'll never leave her alone, " Shayra said to him a day before all this happened.
" shayra—"
" promise me, Yash, " she cut him off and put her shaking hand on his.
And Yash did.
"SHAYRA! " his scream echoed in the whole graveyard, the birds nearby flew out of fear as he fell on his knees.
" AAAAAAAHHHH AAAA! " his sobs echoed as tears rolled down his face.
The heart-wrenching scene was witnessed by Sherlin.
She knew Yash will be broken but she didn't know he will be miserable.
She walked near him and stood in front of him, he looked at her before he pulled her close enough to hug her.
This was the most intimate moments they shared.
He let his tears fall on her back as she tried to hold him.

Adjusting her light blue saree with a silver border she walked towards Yash.“Yash you can’t be serious, aahana needs to know about her mother, you cannot hide these photos and everything,” Sherlin said as Yash handed her another photograph from the wall near the stairs.Sherlin caressed the photo with her fingers; it was from the day of Aahana’s naming ceremony; she was heavily pregnant but had held Aahana in her lap.“I always fulfilled her every wish; even when she asked me to marry you,” Sherlin could not look at him; that was the night

Author’s P. O.
