MasukAn Omega on my bed
Agora’s POV
“We’re wasting time, Agora.”
The old bastard slammed his fist on the table so hard it shook the cups. You could hear the impatience from his voice. “Kael’s armies swell with every moon. If we don’t act...”
I cut him off, sharp as a blade. “Enough.” My voice thundered through the chamber, snapping the air in half. You could’ve heard a pin drop after that. Gods, they made me sick bickering like crows over a carcass, clutching at fear while I needed them to have a damn spine.
I didn't bother to hear another word. I just waved my hand, indicating the meeting was over and slammed the door behind me. Finally, I could breathe. War rumors buzzed like flies, Kael’s name on every tongue, and my people clung to me for hope. Fine I’d give them strength, even if it killed me.
But tonight? My patience was already out.
I walked down the corridor, desperate to get to my room for a little peace. As soon as I got to the door, I flung the room open.
A girl hell, a maid sprawled out on my bed like she owned the place.
My bed.
She was tiny, chest barely moving, dark hair, a messy curtain over her dress. The dress was a sack, torn and filthy. Dirt smeared across her cheek. Like some stray cat had wandered into the palace and decided to nap in the Alpha’s nest.
And she was out cold. On my bed.
The balls on this one.
I was shocked, but then it turned to anger. No servant ever set foot in my chambers without being summoned. Sleeping where I slept? No one would dare. I felt my hands balling up, and could already picture myself dragging her off by the scruff, maybe worse.
I stalked closer, about to rip her off the sheets and then it hit me. Hard. Like a damn freight wagon to the gut.
Something inside locked up. A pull. This primal, violent reaction that pinned me where I stood. My wolf reared up, howling, tearing at my insides, one word echoing in my bones.
Mate.
I just stood there. Heart pounding like it wanted to come off my chest. My wolf howled, making me think of nothing else.
This dirty, trembling nobody… was mine.
I nearly stumbled back, like the wind had been knocked out of me. No way. Not possible. I’d made peace with being mate-less forever. Too old, too scared. The Moon Goddess had passed me by, and I’d built an entire life on that.
So why her? Why now? What sick joke was this?
Would I have to reject her?
Her scent hit me with wild lilacs, rain-soaked earth. It clawed at my sanity. The pull between us roared through my fury, tangling up my instincts. I should’ve killed her. Should’ve. Didn’t.
Her eyes fluttered open.
She saw me. Panic exploded across her face. She scrambled up, back pressed to the headboard, hands shaking. “P…please,” she croaked, voice scratchy. “Don’t kill me.”
Something in me cracked at the sound. I almost laughed, her terror was so real but the bond wrapped steel bands around my chest. I hesitated.
Me.
Hesitated.
I should’ve ended her. That’s the law. That’s what an Alpha does. But looking at her, I realized shit I couldn’t.
Not her.
I forced myself to be cold, and put all my authority into it. “You broke a rule. That means punishment.”
Her breath caught. She pressed against the wall, bracing for the end.
“But,” I went on, narrowing my eyes, “you won’t die. Not today.”
She blinked, confusion flickering in with the fear.
“From now on, you’ll serve me. Here…In this room. You don’t leave unless I say. No one sees you. If you step out of line, I’ll end you myself.”
She opened her mouth maybe to argue, maybe to beg but thought better of it.
Just nodded.
I leaned in, letting my shadow swallow her. “Call it mercy. Don’t mistake it for kindness.”
Her fear was so big that I could feel it. Somehow, my wolf purred, happy she was close even though I wasn’t sure I wanted her there at all.
I turned away, sucking in air like I might drown. Needed distance. I needed to think. Hell of a night for fate to get clever.
Marek was already sprawled out in my study when I walked in, eyes sharp as a hawk, tracking me the second I crossed the threshold. Guy’s younger than me, built like he could break a doorframe just by leaning on it, and shocker he can’t sit still for five seconds.
“You wrapped up the council early,” he said. Not a question. Zero emotion. “They’re not going to love that.”
I shrugged, grabbing the whiskey. “I don’t care if they love it. They just got to listen.”
Marek crossed his arms, in full dramatic mode. “Kael’s getting gutsy. Word is he’s cozying up to the Blackmon rogues. If he pulls them together…”
“He’ll be rotting under the snow before the first frost,” I cut him off,
The thing is, his warning rattled me. Kael’s a snake too smart, too hungry. If my pack splinters any more, we’re toast.
“Keep your ears open,” I muttered, voice dropping. “I want every scrap about Kael. Even the rumors.”
Marek gave this stiff nod.
A couple hours later, I’m back in my room.
She’s still there. Seraphine. Passed out cold.
On my damn bed.
You’ve got to be kidding.
I walked closer, expecting her to flinch or run.
Nope.
She was oblivious to her surroundings. Her mouth slightly ajar. She looked like she hadn't slept for a long time. Did she seriously not get how much danger she was in? Did she not realize I could end her with a word?
My fingers twitched. Should’ve tossed her on the floor. Should’ve reminded her who the boss is.
But all I did was stand there. Staring like an idiot.
Something about her, peaceful like that, made me uneasy. She should have been a mess. Begging, shaking anything but this.
Why aren’t you scared? I almost said it out loud. And worse, why was my wolf, usually a raging beast, suddenly happy just watching her sleep?
It practically purred.
I clenched my fists, anger rising within me. This bond would ruin me if I let it. Still… I couldn’t wake her.
Couldn’t even touch her.
I turned away, jaw tight. But the thought wouldn’t leave.
She was mine.
And the Moon Goddess? Yeah, she had cursed me with her.
The next morning, the sun was leaking through the curtains, and someone pounded on my door. Didn’t even get time to answer before the head maid started yelling.
“I’m sorry, b
ut the new servant, she’s missing from the servant’s quarters. I’m afraid something’s happened.”
My eyes snapped to the bed.
Empty.
Seraphine's pov. When I opened my eyes, the room I found myself in was not something I recognized. The room was sparsely decorated and had just a king-sized bed, a wardrobe in the corner, and a little door that probably led to the bathroom. My mother came into the room, her face full of aggression as she grabbed my collar tightly, choking me. "I told you to obey the Alpha and everyone around you. Now look at what you've done. Everyone hates me in the pack," she spat out venomously."Mother, I try to do everything they both want, but that makes me fall into trouble with the other," I replied, tears pouring down mfacece."That's because you are a good-for-nothing trash. You always tend to get into trouble. I curse the day I gave birth to you," she yelled, pushing me against the wall. The impact made me scream and I opened my eyes again.Dang!!! That dream felt real.Maybe too real.I felt the pain still hammering in my head and my body on fire. What was going on? Why was I in pain?T
Seraphine's pov.I felt the blood in my veins run dry as he spoke. I stood frozen, wanting the ground to open and probably swallow me. I slowly started turning around but his palm held me roughly in place. "Don't move till I say so," he commanded, his voice icy cold. "I'm sorry your highness. I lost track of time and must have eaten slowly," I defended, trying to weave my way out of this mess I had created. "Follow me," he said, letting go of my shoulder and turning around. I swiftly followed behind him as we walked out of the room. We walked through the courtyard as a few maids, just rounding up their daily jobs, stared at me curiously. Some had sympathy in their eyes while others stared at me with hatred, smirking and probably thinking I deserved this. We arrived shortly at the palace dungeon and stopped just in front of a cell. Was he going to throw me in a dungeon? Just because I came back late to the room? I wasn't even useful to him. Why was he throwing me in a dungeon? Is
Seraphine's pov."Tell me," I answered, swallowing."Because you are just a slave to him. You are not special," she hissed and continued sweeping."I actually have to go now," I said, staring at the sky. It was evening and I had to eat. I hadn't eaten through today and my stomach was grumbling. "Yeah, go. Make sure to be really careful around him," she said, her voice weird. She looked like someone around my age, but slightly older. There was no way she would know all these things. "What's your name? The next time I am permitted to come out, I might as well come see you... If I'm alive," I probed, smiling. "Anaya," she said, now ignoring me like she had first done, and continued sweeping.I walked briskly toward the kitchen. The first person I saw was the head maid. She stared at me like I was the most disgusting thing she had ever come across. I stared at her neck and realized she had removed the necklace. Why bother with saving the pack? I was alone and probably would die soon.
Seraphine's pov. I turned my head toward the direction of the bedroom s Alpha Agora left me and dashed. I heard a little of what was said, but by the time I had put on my garment and walked into the room, there was no one there, aside from a tray of food scattered on the floor. I looked at Agora and had a feeling in the pit of my stomach. Just as I had guessed, he smirked and stared daggers at me. "Pick it up with your bare hands and dispose of it in the palace incinerator. I think I've let you become too comfortable," he said without any emotion in his voice.I obediently bent down to pick up the glasses, careful not to cut myself. "After that, go to the kitchen and eat with the other maids. We want them to know you're still alive," he said, as if teasing me or warning me. I didn't respond. What was I supposed to say? Thank you, Alpha, for allowing me to go outside and see the outside world, where I'll probably be bullied more than I am here. "And make sure to be back here bef
Agora's pov. Leaving her in that bed alone was the only self-control I had for myself. How I managed not to fuck her brains out still baffles me. Yes, I don't find her attractive but seeing her in pain ignites something in me that I didn't want to name. I entered the maids' quarters to inspect their work. I do that once a month where I go and check out how all the maids have been doing in the palace. Anyone found lacking in any area is to be whipped by the guard and put under supervision till she comes back to her senses. As I approached the kitchen staff, I spotted Lady Verya lurking behind the counters, a maid by her side. I walked up to her, flashing her a cruel smile. She bowed to me as I walked up to her. "Your graciousness," she said, smiling. I nodded. "Have you given food to the measly slave who is stuck in my chambers?" I asked, my voice void of any emotion. "I was just about to give her food before I heard you were coming here," she replied, her voice laced with
Seraphine's pov I got up from the bed, my legs shaking like jelly as I grabbed the blanket draped over my body. I turned on the heater and went back to bed. I picked up my garment and stared at the wetness dripping from my legs. I felt a tear clouding my vision and I sniffed. I felt like someone had made me a doormat and I was being stepped on without any mercy. I walked back into the bathroom and sat in the bathtub, letting the warm water soothe the sore in my vagina. I let the tears flow freely now. Was this how I am supposed to be living in the palace? Was this my fate? I didn't sign up for any of this. Just then, I heard a knock on the door and flinched. I stood up immediately and put on my garment as it clung to my wet body. I didn't feel a need to be ashamed as the Alpha felt disgusted with my body. I walked to the door as the second knock responded. "Who's there?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. I got no response, but a note slipped into the crack under the do
