Gemma’s POV

The fire in the hearth had burnt to glowing embers that sent little wisps of red and gold dancing across the rug.

I sat on the floor pressed lightly against the side of the bed, Dean’s translated note in my hand. The simple piece of paper weighed almost nothing between my fingers. The words had carved a new sense of peace, a feeling of warmth, deep inside me.

I glanced toward the door of the master suite. Beyond it, I could hear the soft movements of the two guards that Lazarus

Gemma’s POVI sat rigidly perched on the edge of the examination table. My shirt was pulled down around my belly as the grainy ultrasound hummed noisily in my ears. I could still feel cold shivers radiating from the gel left on my skin but a strange heating cascaded within my veins.Lazarus stood, back straight and completely still beside me as his jaw tightened and he stared at the soft black and white screen. His eyes were so wide, they looked like they could pop out of his head.“Explain what you mean, Asher,” Lazarus said, his voice dropping into a low, gravelly register that vibrated through the small room. “How can a baby carry three separate Alpha blood marks? That is physically impossible.”Asher carefully clicked the end of his plastic wand back in the holding slot in the machine. A frown crawled across his face as he used a clean white cloth to wipe his hands a final time. He kept his posture relaxed and his shoulders low, intentionally projecting a calm, steady essence to

  • Three Alphas and the Rogue Luna   Chapter 47

Gemma’s POV My boots pounded against the dirt pathway as I ran. My lungs burned from the sprinting but Delilah’s hysterical shrieking had faded behind me within the trees. I couldn’t catch my breath. My vision blurred and I tore away from the main pathway, and rammed into a bunch of high and spiky shrubs. On the other side I saw that I was standing in an open field covered in rows of bright red, orange and the pinks of poppies. Towering oak trees surrounded the place. I dropped down onto my knees in puddles of grass as I placed my palms on the cold ground. My chest jittered wildly and spasmed with erratic breathing. My heart pounded so fast I felt like it would burst right out of my chest. I scrunched up my face as the words came flashing through my mind. ‘You see what you really are, Gemma? You are losing control of yourself and this power is dark and evil and it will only get worse when you have that child.’ My hand lifted up as I brushed my fingers against my face. Tremor

  • Three Alphas and the Rogue Luna   Chapter 46

Gemma’s POV The cool morning air nipped at the nape of my neck as I wandered out the back door. I pulled my gloved hands into the folds of my pants as I strode quickly away from the main compound. Lazarus had ordered me to remain cooped up on the top floor for the time being, but that wouldn’t be happening. Lazarus was an Alpha who had no qualms about bending the rules of pack law to suit himself and his pack. I found out that at the moment, he was currently dealing with some unruly pack enforcers. I was getting too old for such childish behavior. If High Priestess Delilah wanted to discuss my place here, she would have to damn well convince me with her answers. The long winding dirt path stretched out before me. A sick feeling was starting to creep up the back of my throat. There should have been sentries pacing along the pathway, but the area was abandoned save the skeletal trees rustling gently overhead. I quickened my clipped pace for the temple sanctuary doors, my brea

  • Three Alphas and the Rogue Luna   Chapter 45

Simon’s POV The morning sun sat high on its peak as the noises of construction surrounded me. A crew of pack members worked near the broken entrance of the conservatory, hauling large pieces of shattered glass and stacking splintered wood into tall piles. The sound of hammers hitting nails echoed off of the stone walls, breaking the usual quiet that hung over the valley. I stood on the edge of the terrace, watching the repairs with my hands tucked inside the pockets of my trousers. The damage from that incident was extensive, but it could be repaired. Wood and glass were easy to replace. What caught my attention was not the broken frames or ruined doors, but the way that my people interacted with each other around the task at hand. Two young enforcers were laughing together near the wagon, tossing tools back and forth with a relaxed ease that I had not seen in the last few weeks. Across the courtyard, a group of people shared a pot of warm tea, speaking in open voices while

  • Three Alphas and the Rogue Luna   Chapter 44

Gemma’s POV The kiss progressed feverishly as my mind spun from the heated connection against my lips. Lazarus pinned me against his chest, his mouth smothering mine in a demanding, hungry claim that sent my legs turning to jelly, and my senses racing from the deep, hungry press of his lips. I returned his wanton action with equal fervor as my hands clung to the warm but hard planes of his shoulders, his fingers entangling passionately with my hair. The heat of his touch burned away the evening chill as the sensation sent molten heat rolling through my veins, washing over every dormant nerve ending, stoking the fire still licking at my blood. The coldness of the room all but vanished as the soft sounds of our gasps and the thrum of our racing hearts filled the confines of the dimly lit chamber. With a feral strength, Lazarus hoisted me from the floor, my legs instinctively curling around his waist as he lowered me onto the smooth surface of the counter. Straddling my knees,

Beyond it, I could hear the soft movements of the two guards that Lazarus had stationed in the hallway overnight to keep watch after Delilah’s ominous dispatch. The master bedroom was now a comfortable prison that I could not escape from and there were too many enforcers skulking about the place. Still, there was no reason for me to try and sneak out if I had answers inside the house My hands brushed against the worn pages in my hidden sketchbook. It had to be enough to know the house as the sketches were very detailed with little notes on what was where. I had re
