Chapter 5

“No wait!”

Raven’s hand slips from Mouse’s hold, pain, confusion and disbelief sacking her hard. The man in front of her is Draco, the same man who she was once his jewel but now he’s treating her like trash, like he doesn’t care, like he doesn’t know her.

There’s no way she’s leaving without getting an answer. Not a day has passed since his supposed death that she hasn’t lived in grief.

Many mornings where she found it difficult to get up from her bed, many more nights that she cried herself to sleep dressed in his oversized clothes just to feel close to him.

So many times she contemplated ending her own life for a chance to be with him as life was suddenly no longer worth living.

Her obsession with creating a vaccine to prevent werewolves from ever getting harmed by wolfsbane, leading to many sleepless nights is all because of him, because she wanted his death to mean something and here he is, in front of her, treating her with such scorn?

“Why are you doing this Draco? Talk to me, how are you alive?” Her heart clenches as she speaks, tears roll down her eyes freely, the pain she feels is gruesome, heavy.

“I think you have the wrong person, young lady. This is Rex, not Dra whatever, now leave and stop being a nuisance before I add you to my pet collection,” the lady beside Draco quips at her, lifting her hand up and a blue aura shimmers in her palm, her eyes flashing with the same color.

Raven’s eyes are fixed on Draco’s eyes and she cannot see any emotion in them, none whatsoever. He just looks at her like what he wants her to believe that she is, a total stranger.

“Say something….” Raven’s heart breaks even further as the words spill out of her lips, “I mourned you…I still do, what’s going on? Tell me I’m not crazy, tell me I’m not dreaming.”

“You’re wide awake, just delusional. I have no idea who this Draco is,” Draco sneers, giving Mouse a death stare, “do I need to repeat myself?”

“Alright, that’s it, you’re out,” Mouse lunges for her and grabs her arm, yanking her forward but in an unexpected move, she pulls back and drives her boots up into his crotch, making him groan in pain and he lets her go.

The other guy snaps up to his feet but a low growl from Draco makes him halt.

“If Mouse can’t handle this puny thing, then maybe his muscles are useless,” he spits coldly but when he looks at Raven, she catches a look in his eyes, one that gleans through rather quickly but it’s the same one he always had in his eyes when he would teach her self defense tactics and she would pull it off flawlessly.

This particular one was straight out of his classroom as well. In his particular words: ‘no matter how strong a man is, his balls will always weaken him.’

Mouse grunts, straightening himself, his eyes dangerously glaring at Raven. She darts her eyes left and right, grabs a bottle from the table and smashes it.

Mouse is unperturbed by it, about to reach her when she backs up and places the sharp edge of the broken bottle against her neck.

“Why are you doing this? Why did you do all of it? Talk to me Draco, please…if you don’t, then I’m going to hurt myself, please….” She sobs bitterly, her chest rising and falling slowly, trickles of tears running down her eyes.

Mouse looks at Draco sharply, waiting for his orders and so does the rest of the group.

“Well, what are you waiting for? Do it already so we can get back to our fun,” Draco quips and nonchalantly looks away from her, filling his glass from the bottle of tequila in front of him.

A thick lump slowly forces its way down Raven’s throat. For a moment she wonders if she’s wrong about this man’s identity but there’s no way she can be.

She closes her eyes and slowly presses the bottle against her neck, wincing as it pricks her flesh when she feels a hand grab her hand and pull it back.

Her eyes fly open and it's Draco. She heaves a sigh of relief, “I knew it was you,” she mutters.

“It’s not me, I’m not Draco,” he yanks the bottle from her grip, eyes like steel, voice like ice, “you’re just taking so much time to plunge this into your throat that by the time you do, we’d all already be too bored to continue enjoying ourselves.”

He tosses the bottle to Mouse and turns back to face her, “Look here, I don’t fucking know who you are or why you think I’m someone I’m not and I honestly couldn’t give a fuck what your reasons are either but if you ever bother me like this again, I’ll make sure I do you the favour of splitting your throat open myself since you’re so eager to die. Now the get the fuck out of here.”

  • Till Death Do Us Apart   Chapter 133

Draco opens his eyes and immediately regrets it because the pain in his head is so intense it makes him want to vomit all over the concrete floor and never get up again. He's lying where he fell at the factory and there's dried blood caked in his hair from where Royce's men hit him with the gun, and his whole skull feels like it's been cracked open with a sledgehammer. For a moment he can't remember what happened or why he's on the ground covered in blood, but then it all comes flooding back and he sits up so fast the whole world spins around him making him dizzy. "Raven," he says out loud and his voice echoes in the empty factory space. "Boss, you're awake!" Mighty says rushing over to help him stand up. "We thought you might have a serious concussion or brain damage or something worse." "Where is she? Where the fuck is Raven?" Draco asks even though he already knows the answer from the guilty look on Mighty’s face and the way his shoulders slump with defeat. "Royce too

  • Till Death Do Us Apart   Chapter 132

Raven's head throbs like someone hit a hammer to her skull as her consciousness slowly creeps back in, and the first thing she notices is that her hands are tied behind her back with a rope that's cutting into her wrists and making them bleed. She's sitting in what looks like some kind of warehouse or storage facility with concrete walls and dim lighting that makes everything look gray and depressing and scary. The air smells musty and stale like no one's been here in months and months and it makes her want to gag. "You're finally awake." Royce's voice makes her jump and she turns to see him sitting across from her in a metal chair looking perfectly calm like this is just another business meeting or something and it makes her stomach turn because how can he be so normal about kidnapping someone. "I was starting to worry that my men hit you too hard at the factory; I told them to be careful with you, but sometimes they don't listen to simple instructions." Raven tries to speak bu

  • Till Death Do Us Apart   Chapter 131

Raven's heart is pounding so hard she can feel it in her throat as she crouches behind the machinery, watching this nightmare unfold, and she can't believe this is actually happening. She's actually here in the middle of some kind of war zone with bullets flying everywhere and gunfire echoing off the walls so loud it makes her ears ring. She never should have come here, but when she overheard those guards talking about moving everything from the factory tomorrow, she knew this was her only chance to get evidence. She had no idea when she snuck in here that she'd walk straight into what looks like a full battle between Draco and Royce's men.Now she's watching Draco and his pack getting cornered by Royce's security forces, and she can see the desperation in Draco's eyes as he realizes they've walked into a trap."You really thought you could just walk into my territory and burn down everything I've built?" Royce's voice cuts through the chaos, and Raven's blood runs cold. This is it, t

  • Till Death Do Us Apart   Chapter 130

Draco looks around at all the entrances they’d breached so easily and he should feel happy that they made it into the factory without any major problems, but something doesn’t feel right here.It shouldn’t have been this easy to get inside and they hadn’t met any resistance at all which makes him think something’s going on that he can’t see yet.Or maybe he’s just being paranoid after everything that’s happened, but they’ve already come this far and turning back now would be pointless.“Boss, what’s wrong?” Mighty asks from beside him, noticing the tension in Draco’s shoulders.Draco pauses for a moment before deciding there’s no point in worrying about things he can’t control.“No, we’re good to move forward. Let’s keep going.”Mighty nods immediately and waves to the men behind them, urging them to move with him taking the lead while Draco glances back one more time before following. Now that they’re successfully inside the factory, he plans to find Royce’s underground lab and burn

  • Till Death Do Us Apart   Chapter 129

"Boss, we're almost there," Mighty says from the front of the car, grabbing Draco's attention.Draco nods in acknowledgment of his words humming to himself. He knows it's time. And sends a message across to the minds of all members of the team:"Get ready, we'll be there in a few minutes. This is our chance to destroy this place, and we're not getting a second chance, so let's do this right." His words ring out through the mind link.Moments later, the car comes to a stop, and he jumps out, intentionally stopping a distance away from the shoe factory to infiltrate the place more easily. He glances around to ensure that they haven't been spotted and looks around, making sure that all the team members are complete before he says,"Fall in."Then he moves forward, signaling with his hand for them to follow.Without hesitation, they follow his command and approach the factory stealthily, with Draco and Mighty in the lead. They don't go straight in since they already have a plan in motion.
