I went to my store that morning and Noelle promised to stop by later. Meanwhile, I had already made an appointment with the detective who advised that the earlier I filed the case, the better.

Ever since I heard the news of Oscar’s death and how Mark had ordered for his release, I had been having a torrent of emotions. The urge to see him which I had earlier had vanished completely.

“But why was he allowed to release Oscar,” I had asked the detective.

“Because he has the power and influence, and also, you didn’t file any case, so we couldn’t have been able to hold him back,” the detective had explained. “Miss Alexa, there is so much that you need to know about, but this isn’t a phone conversation. I will strongly advise that you come to the station and file the case as soon as possible, otherwise, he might just get away with another crime,” he had added deeply.
